It has been 4 days I created a support ticket got 1 reply after that no one is replying also no one replying to live chat. This is very much unprofessional. Hope this offer post person is not dead so if you can check Here is my Ticket ID: 874505.

    • Hi, we are definitely not “dead” and I apologize profusely if we gave you that impression. You had a billing related matter and our billing department is not a 24×7 department so I apologize for any delays.

I went ahead and taken care of this for you and updated your ticket. :-)

+1. Julian is the reason why I’m still with Alpharacks after 3+ years and counting. He’s always been a good guy to chat with, and we’ve had our fair share of weird jokes/banter in the past over my support ticket LOL :P

Nice to be with a provider who is professional yet still has a sense of humor and helps customers on a personal basis.

Alpharacks are one of the long time LEB hosts and one of the first hosting companies I’ve used. Good to see them still in the game.

I used them in ‘15, but cancelled due to other expenses taking more priority at the time. My short lived experience was pretty good though, no complaints. Might pick up a KVM VPS for myself (birthday gift for me anyone? lol)

Happy Birthday. If you decide to buy, shoot me an e-mail at julian @ alpharacks.com with your order number and I’ll throw in something a little extra.

Hi Julian, I’m using one of the 768MB OpenVZ VPS and finding the upload speed pretty insufferable. You used to offer a free upgrade from 100mps uplink to 1gbps on previous LEB offers (if we opened a ticket)- is that still available (it’s not mentioned on this offer)? I was planning on upgrading to the 1gb openvz plan with a bit more hdd space or perhaps kvm version but I’d need to see if that upload speed can be improved first. Cheers

To be fair to this provider- once i uploaded – my downloads speeds from the vps were quite good – perhaps it was just a limitation of internet connection upload speed.

If you have not used our services, I do not think it is fair for you to state something like this about us, as others have said here we have been with the LowEndBox community for a very long time and are one of the “senior” hosting providers on this site. In fact we have been helping the community for longer than I can remember, since 2013 I believe. We have over 35,000 active customers at the time of this message, so while we are not perfect, we do our best, and the vast majority of our clients are pleased with the services that we have to offer.

      • Ray Lewis:

I have used your services… Period.

Even if you’ve been here for a long time doesn’t mean your seniority is equal to the quality of services you provide.

I bought a VPS last Black Friday 2017, almost down about 60% of the time for a month. Submitted ticket, almost identical replies, ‘We have no current issues with our server’.

Saw the shared hosting $7/year. Never learned my lesson so I bought it. CPanel loads forever! Sent support ticket again, and as always, the infamous ‘Everything is working well’ reply.

I do not know what kind of thinking you guys at Alpharacks have. I have been with a lot of providers and you are the worst I’ve been with so far.

Maybe when you were starting, the quality of your services are really EXCELLENT, but you should have retained that quality over the years. I think you got fond of them SALES, and overselling became your thing.

        • Hi Ray, that’s definitely strange as we do not have a single client named “Ray Lewis” in our database. Please contact me at julian @ alpharacks.com with your e-mail on file with us so I can validate this and help resolve.

I have to say this about AlphaRacks, I didn’t have much luck with their OpenVZ about ~2 years ago, but they’ve gotten a lot better.

And I also got a KVM back on their birthday sale a few months ago-ish? Anyways, the KVM I got was the 2CPU/2G and I’m extremely surprised at how stable it really is! It’s had no issues at all and I’m extremely happy with it. I’ve already renewed my two OpenVZ accounts prior to their post for the KVM sale for their birthday post, but I’m very impressed at how awesome the KVM is vs the OpenVZ, of course I know KVM is better than OpenVZ, but the network/node that the KVMs are on is so much better.

I’m so glad I decided to give it a try! Keep up the good work AR! Keep up the good deals and the upgrades, SO glad you finally moved into selling KVMs finally!

    • Hi Greg, we did definitely have to overcome some growing pains about two years ago – at that time I believe we were just touching 15,000 customers so we certainly learned a lot as we go. I’m confident by now, while by no means we are perfect, we are doing a pretty good job for 35,000 customers I’d say :-)
I’m glad that you are pleased with our services by now! If you have any suggestions or feedback for us, we’re all ears. Thanks for your support.

  10. Hello Julian,
I would like to know a few things,

    1. IP4 is dedicated and already bundled with the package or not
    2. What about root access? I would like to install Apache, PHP, MongoDB in the VPS, is that possible?
    3. I would like to purchase for a 1-year plan, what will be the amount for next year?
    4. What is the basic difference between KVM & OpenVZ?

    October 20, 2018 @ 4:45 am | Reply
    • Hi Santanu, sure:

      1. Yes, all VPS plans include a dedicated IPV4 Address

      2. Root access is included with all VPS plans, both OpenVZ and KVM.

      3. The renewal price will remain the same next year :-). We do not do any price hikes and never have.

      4. KVM servers allow you to run your own kernels and support almost any operating system. This is useful for clients who are looking to run their own kernel, or run Docker for example.

If you don’t, then an OpenVZ based VPS should work just fine.

  11. I have a previous black friday offer from them (1GB ram/swap, 20gb hdd, 1gbit uplink, will renew it soon)

I can’t say much about their support since I didn’t contact them at all.
The VPS had some downtime but by the time I received the alert/notification, the server was back up so didn’t see the point in contacting them.

Can’t say much about performance since it sat mostly idle, recently used it for remote backup.

There was an incident one time where the VPS was offline/shutdown, no idea why since at that point the VPS was idle for about 2-3 months.

TL;DR: For this price, I recommend them. Definitely better than some of my other low end boxes.

    • Thanks for the recommendation! I’m glad that all in all you are pleased, however, I’d also like to look into any incidents that you mentioned to ensure an even better experience for you :-)

This is a limited time promotion available exclusively for readers of LowEndBox, meaning the order links will be closed for ordering once we have sold the quantity we’ve set aside for this promo.

We have a 99.9% uptime guarantee in place.

I’ve had shared and VPS account with AlphaRaks for almost a year. This is THE WORST hosting company that I have used. VPS went down, it disjointed from control panel, so no restarts were possible, support team didn’t help, wasting me 2 weeks. The shared account was the slowest ever, a lot of downtime, all emails going into SPAM folders or never received. The end result, I canceled both accounts. Usually you get what you pay for, but this hosting company is a pure joke….

Finally got a refund from them. Bought a reseller and the ip was blacklisted, the server was at 86% and the mysql and mail server where down when they provisioned it. There response was a new IP for 10$ well no!

    • Hi CCH, that sounds unusual. I’d like to intervene and take a look if you don’t mind, and address this internally however necessary. I sincerely apologize about any confusions, as all services are supposed to be delivered with clean IP addresses by default.

Can you email me at julian @ alpharacks.com ?

I tried to order, but there’s no support for Ubuntu 18.04. Can I upgrade after the order?

    October 25, 2018 @ 7:31 am | Reply
    • Hi K, yes, on our KVM VPS, after you order you can reinstall in the SolusVM VPS control panel to Ubuntu 18.04.

We will update the order forms shortly, but you can always reinstall afterwards.

I’ve Just been told by one of your support staff that you won’t be supporting 18.04. I tried to install it twice but it wouldnt boot, and now they are saying it won’t be supported. Thats quite dissapointing as part of the reason for buying the vps was under the understanding that 18.04 would be available. I really hope your support stuff will pull there head in and just get it working properly. There’s no reason not to support it. ticket no#308221

  29. Hi,

Well, Alpharack is good and I am with them for about a year now. I am definitely going to renew my VPS with them in a couple of weeks. I got my VPS in a Black Friday offer and using it to run 2 small Nodejs based applications.

There is nothing serious I encountered except some small issues with IPv6 IPs.

Cheers from Pakistan to Julian and the team of Alpharack.

    Thanks

He probably means that the service is in a pending state like mine is (after the order has been confirmed). Just to give another data point I have ticket active since 10/28 for a purchase I made on 10/28. On 10/30 they managed to confirm payment from 2co after I sent a receipt, and have made 2 replies saying they “activated” my service. However my service is still in a pending state and unavailable for use. I’m currently waiting on a follow up response as it seems they have escalated it to their Technical Division.

Adding a quick update: I was able to work with support to get my machine up to date and with the correct resource allocation by 11/4. While I’m disappointed it took about a week from paying to finally getting my VPS properly activated, I can report that support was generally prompt and positive, with most replies in under 24 hr.

About one of the worst support experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve requested a refund per their refund policy 3 days ago, Gary Martin promised a refund and I have gotten no updates since. Just emailed Julian directly as he appears to be the go-to guy for issues, and I’m hoping we can get this resolved at which point I will update this review but at this point I would say stay far, far away from AlphaRacks. The reseller packages have extremely limited functionality to the point of being near worthless. Support will argue with you, they do not read the tickets, miss critical points and just all in all this has been a horrible experience.

Beware of these guys. They oversubscribed on most of their VPS. My experience was good for the first month, then it all goes downhill from there. I recommend you use them for testing purposes only and pay on the monthly basis. Don’t ever use these guys for permanent hosting.

Hello guys, I just want to put my 2 cents in the comment section about my experience with this company. These guys oversell their VPS, it is great for the first month then everything goes downhill from there. I recommend you don’t use them for permanent hosting of your sites and never go for the full year VPS.

Applies to their OpenVZ and KVM VPS.

My experience with them has been horrible. Now I am on the market for an alternative stable and cheap VPS.

    Hi all,
Please stay away from them if you want to avoid troubleshooting their infrastructure. I needed to open a ticket to get my VPS. Then, I had to prove that my IP address was in conflict with another one. The support asked me for my root password to troubleshoot and after that, reinstall the whole thing. Total waste of money without refunds.

Hey, I have the exact same issue!

It seems like packet loss at first, until you realize SSH is hitting some other server.

How did you manage to convince support that it was an IP conflict? I am trying to convince them at the moment but haven’t gotten through to them yet.

I think this server is a great deal and the actual server performance seems great when accessed over the Solus VNC console. Just having this network issue.

My journey with AlphaRacks actually did not start by my own choice/determinism – as I was not aware of these guys until they bought out my VPS provider I was with, called Rijx.com (at the time). I was a bit skeptical/unsure at first, but fast forward to many years later, I am certain enough to say that the AlphaRacks team have earned my trust, respect, and my business. I’m still on a grandfathered-in, legacy plan for $5/year which is absolutely amazing. I love how they do not raise your prices and do honest business. On a few occasions I’ve had to contact technical support for a question, I’ve always gotten answers in a timely manner (under an hour which is pretty good for the price!). All in all – I would recommend, and I’m even considering adding additional servers at this point with them, now that I’m almost getting to that point where I need to.
