  1. Thanks for sharing our Easter 2017 offers! If anyone has any questions, we are here to answer :-).

There are three different type of product offerings with our Easter Promotions. Reseller Hosting, Master Reseller Hosting, and Linux VPS. I have clarified and explained each product line up below:

    What is Reseller Hosting?

Have you ever considered starting your own hosting company? Or are you already operating a business in a different sector of the industry, but could use an additional stream of income?

In a nutshell, Reseller Hosting allows you to start selling web hosting with cPanel and WHM! Whether you are an aspiring web host looking to sell cPanel hosting, or if you are an existing business in another industry (such as web designers or internet marketers) but looking to sell hosting to your customers as an additional stream of income, we have the solution and platform to provide you. The best part about it is you can design your own hosting packages and sell them to your customers at prices that YOU set.

A Reseller or a Master Reseller is the perfect place to start your additional source of income! By choosing AlphaRacks, we provide you with the platform and infrastructure you need to get started with selling hosting. We even provide you with all the tools you need for starting your own hosting company including SSL certificates, domain resellers, legal documents, and more.

    What is Master Reseller Hosting?

A Master Reseller account takes it another level further than reseller hosting. A Master Reseller allows you to create both shared and reseller hosting accounts. For example, you can start a web hosting company today selling shared and reseller hosting packages, meaning those who purchase reseller accounts from you will be able to start selling web hosting themselves, too.

    What is a Linux VPS?

Well… I don’t want to bore you. I’m sure all of you reading this already know what a Linux VPS is ;-). We are offering 3 different specials for Linux VPS this Easter, one of them being a managed VPS plan with cPanel.

    Special LEB Bonus:

Open a support ticket after your order – we will DOUBLE your bandwidth allocation for free on any of these Easter promotions. As a reminder, bandwidth resources are reset every month even on yearly plans!

Please feel free to contact us at support@alpharacks.com. We are standing by 24/7 if you require any assistance.

    Happy Easter!
    Julian

      Hi Julian,

For LEB double bandwidth promo, is it same as double monthly traffic?

Is this promo applied as long as I paid for annual payment?

      Sorry my English was bad.

      Regards,
      Iqbal

    • I was about to buy the 36 month Master Reseller Plan with double space and SSH but your reviews are terrible.

      • I looked up reviews just by Google AlphaRacks.com Reviews and there are some as recent as 2017, just dont want to pay for something I wont be happy with..

        • Against my better judgment, I still decided to give it a try… I will update my experience here.

This is what I bought hopefully I can still get the double space? It was an available option and charged me for it.

          Description Amount
          Invoice # XXXXXX

        • Erik:

People tend to write reviews for bad service while doing nothing for good service. I haven’t had any issues with my VPS. I’m not sure where you’re finding reviews, but you’ll see their last offer was plagued with people complaining about things. Julian reached out to nearly everyone about their complaints. They, however, never responded to him afterwards. Perhaps they’re just customers that don’t want to be helped and just complain? There are always 2 sides to a story.

My experience over the last month or so has been positive. Their support is helpful and quick enough. They certainly seem to make an effort to provide a good experience and I feel like that’s the truly important thing.

          April 20, 2017 @ 4:13 pm | Reply
          • Thanks! All I did was Google AlphaRacks.com Reviews but I understand a lot of times it is a competitor that also posts bad reviews, So I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and go jump in and try them out.

So far so good I am up and running… They were still honoring the Easter Deal which was a bonus.

          • Trevor:

Well said Erik. You just can’t believe everything you read on the Internet. I have a funny story on the topi of this. A few years ago, I used to work for a restaurant, we constantly had issues with someone writing our restaurant bad reviews on Google and etc, but never received responses when the owner tried to help out. Months later, we found out it was a competitor 4 miles south of us who was writing the reviews. It’s crazy out there what dirty tactics competitors will resort to, in order to try to win more customers.

Case in point, I noticed that on over 95% of the not-so-good reviews about Alpharacks, Julian tried to help them out, but they never got back to him. There is either a huge audience of people who want to be negative and don’t want to be helped, or an upset competitor (the latter being most likely)

I signed up for a Alpharacks VPS server back in October of last year and my VPS has been unblemished. I’m very happy for what I’m paying, and in fact, it performs better than one of my premium VPS that I’m paying $55/month for (with ServInt). I’ll eventually see about migrating that over when I have some time.

I have been using your service for quite some time. A few month ago, I got a new VPS with better spec and then cancelled the previous one in April. It is shown as cancelled with not problem. However, a few days ago, they charged me the annual fee anyway. I opened a ticket with your billing department on 05/21 but got no reply. I then contacted your service department. They replied promptly saying they contact your senior members and should get back to me quickly. After two days, I still didn’t hear anything. Can you help to check why is that? Thanks.

    Questions about Master Reseller Plans:

    – SSH access?
    – Do you manage any type of backup?
    – Type of hard drive? SSD?
    – Email policy for cpanel accounts?

    Thanks.

    April 16, 2017 @ 2:11 am | Reply
    • Hi Rafael, thank you for your inquiries.

SSH access with our Reseller and Master Reseller hosting plans are not enabled by default, however can be added upon request (see order form)

We do manage backups on our reseller servers, however currently it is on an entire server image basis, not on a per account basis. In addition, Reseller Hosting servers are provisioned on 4x Enterprise HDDs configured in hardware RAID10 with CacheVault protection. This means that you don’t have to worry about hardware failures, your data will not get lost and you will not see any downtime in the event of a drive failure, and the disk performance is optimized with writeback caching.

The hourly email limit is 150 per cPanel account however upon valid reasoning we can raise this on a case by case basis.

      • Do you plan to offer any kind of account level back up like JetBackup or Bacula4. I totally understand the hardware failure prevention is there but you know sometimes clients just delete files by mistake of their site gets hacked and they want it recovered. Backups help out a lot in those instances.

        April 17, 2017 @ 5:35 am | Reply
        • We are currently looking into JetBackup and this is something we will be adding to our reseller servers in the very near future.

The service has been solid for so many years, so I figured I’d grab a master reseller offer too. If anyone is curious they use LiteSpeed Web Server, which by the way is a phenomenal drop in replacement for Apache!

  8. Adnan:

I bought MANAGED VPS with cPanel, I purchased the SSH access as well. I was going to use this to host a few WordPress websites. I couldn’t install WP-CLI (which even comes installed with regular shared hosting) because the sudo command doesn’t work and when I inquired with customer support the reply I got was ‘ SSH only to access your account, please use cpanel enable custom modules as per your wish.’ I replied to that telling him that WP-CLI is not in the list and I really need that to get some stuff done fast.. maybe he’s working on it but its been in progress for almost 12 hours now. This is quite disappointing, did I ask for too much?

If it’s only to access my account, why do you charge me extra for it? I don’t get it.. Anyway its okay I kind of wanted to gain experience with a VPS and that’s why I bought this.. however, I still need WP-CLI to make use of this box for what its worth.. If you can’t do that, then I guess I’ll need a refund. Please help! Thanks

    April 16, 2017 @ 2:26 pm | Reply
    • Hi Adnan, I was able to find your account. I see that you ordered a master reseller hosting account with SSH access, while you have jailed shell access, master reseller’s do not come with full ROOT SSH access as you are on a shared environment.

Did you mean to order the managed VPS Easter Special instead? As a VPS is your own environment, those include full root access.

I just sent you an email, so please reply to it, I’ll work with you and we’ll go from there.

    • jvnadr:

You did not purchased a managed vps, but a shared reseller account. So, probably you got a jailed ssh access, that is only for limited tasks (scp, rsync etc.). If you bought managed vps, then, you wouldn’t purchased ssh access, because in any vps the ssh access is the first thing you get, it cannot work without it for the client.
So true story here is that you are dissapointed only because you are lacking of knowledge on what a hosting platform is. First learn that and then, come here again to bash a provider.

@Adnan, wp-cli is a php phar file, so you can use it from your project directory also. In this case, your command will be `php wp-cli.phar any_wp_cli_command`. For this you don’t need any sudo access or any privileged access. Thanks!

Hi Julian, if I order any package, how long the promotional price will stay: lifelong or for the first ordered period?

I saw some promotional price plans recur throughout the service period, some are renewed to original price after promotional plan period is over. What’s your strategy, please? Can a single person with the same email and billing information order both Reseller and VPS at the same time?

Please let me know ASAP. I want to ensure a VPS and a Reseller plan before it ends. Thanks!

    April 17, 2017 @ 1:20 am | Reply
    • Hi Rafiqul, these low prices are good for as long as you keep your service (never subject to a rate increase!) In other words, you will be able to renew at the same price.

You may order multiple services under the same account, we have quite a bit of people who ordered both reseller and VPS

I’m considering your master reseller option, but am worried about overselling. How do you prevent resellers from over crowding a server and deminishing the level of service for the other people on the server?

    April 17, 2017 @ 5:44 am | Reply
    • Eldon – we’re able to mitigate this issue as we have plenty of reseller hosting servers, and these special promotions are based on the extra space that we have across these servers.

We also use CloudLinux, which helps address this issue as well. In addition to this, our servers run KernelCare for rebootless maintenance and LiteSpeed Web Server.

What kind of server load is deemed acceptable/normal on these servers? I noticed you have a three (3) refund policy, is this the same for the reseller accounts?

        April 17, 2017 @ 3:04 pm | Reply
      • Eldon:

Additionally, are there any inode limitations with the reseller accounts?

        April 17, 2017 @ 3:12 pm | Reply
        • Hi Eldon – as with every server, the server loads will always vary based on peak times, traffic activity, etc., we have monitoring set up and make sure that our CPU levels are acceptable. At the end of the day we provide great performance and excellent uptime to everyone. Furthermore, all of our reseller servers have at least a minimum of 8 CPUs, some even having 16 CPUs.

The three (3) day refund policy also applies to reseller accounts, so feel free to give us a try :-). There are no inode limitations in place.

I look forward to working with Julian and his staff in the coming week.

If I do not post an update and you are curious as to how this goes feel free to reply to this as I will get notified and reminded to post.

I wanted to post back about my usage with AlphaRacks thus far. After about a month of usage I have had a few (3) “hiccups” in service, though they were resolved quickly with exception of one that left my services unavailable for a few hours. I have not had any bandwidth issues and overall am very happy with the service, again thus far.

While it is not enough to completely discourage me from using the service, I do have to say that the support line is less than helpful in cases where technical issues are encountered. I have encountered two issues that I have contacted support on and they either do not understand what it is I am requesting or they simply are giving me a run around in the hope that I will stop asking for assistance on the issue.

Julian, if you are still monitoring this thread, I am going to try and contact you directly and see if you might be able to help with these issues.

So far I have not heard back from Julian@alpharacks.com either…

Please allow me to verify you are or were a customer as your name is not coming up on a search on our client list.

          • Hi Melissa, we offer free migration! We will be able to migrate if your previous hosting is also powered by cPanel. After we restore the cPanel backup, then all you would have to do is update the nameservers of your domain.

LiteSpeed Web Server is compatible with Apache features, that is not an issue.

      • John E:

Yes, being persistent I finally got a static IP and rDNS setup, I also received a statement that “We don’t provide ipv6 for shared webhosting server. We only offering ipv6 for VPS products.”
The IP was blacklisted by Barracuda.
I sent a request for removal to Barracuda but they did nothing (in spite of the advertised 12 hour response).
I will do a detailed post (or post-mortem) when I have more info.

        • I am in the same boat as you. Its been 5 days and the IP is still blocked. Seems like all the IPs (even the shared ip on the server) they have are blocked. Now its been more than 51 hours since the last response form support. After getting tired of waiting I have created a support ticket to cancel and for a full refund and its been 24 hours and no one is even responding to that. Just finally emailed Julian directly, lets see if that gets things moving.

I was so excited to signup with them specially since they are a 7 yr old establishing company :(

        Hi Julian, thanks for responding.

Regarding the IP provisioning, no one would complain if you informed us that it would take a few hours to provision (see also Kai’s post) – may I suggest that the welcome e-mail (Your AlphaRacks Reseller Account Information) is a good place for this info.

A definite plus for your plans are the add-ons (Double Storage and SSH Access) – I purchased both.

It would be very nice if you would provide SSH access details for the reseller accounts as the procedure is not the same as with SSH access to a VPS – and explaining the limitations will save you a few support tickets.

Another plus is that we get immediate access to two DNS servers.

Now the only minus has to do with blacklisting by Barracuda – I think it can be sorted out (I’m watching Enigma’s post – and will try again with Barracuda after having a fully configured server).

  25. Hi Julian,

I ordered a Business Reseller four days ago. I was assigned a shared IP that is on block lists for SPAM. I requested a dedicated IP which also is blocked. Your Support advised me to wait 48 hours and it should be cleared. After 48 hours, it is still banned. I emailed support again and no response, emailed them again after 24 hours and still no response and all the IPs remain banned. Can you please let me know what is going on.

      • Hi Julian,

I have created multiple tickets already. No response at all. Its been five days and I still have banned IPs. Here are the ticket numbers

        #908865
        #991896

Seems like I am getting faster response on LowEndBox than on the ticket system.

        April 22, 2017 @ 4:42 pm | Reply
        • So just an update. I finally got a response. Apparently getting the IP cleared is not going to be easy for them since these are very heavily abused IP’s. Barracuda has a policy regarding IPs that have been banned multiple times. They don’t just clear those easily and there is a long waiting for such IPs.

More importantly, I was finally was able to get my account with AlphaRocks cancelled. Everyone better BEWARE. Even though they assigned me a banned IP and asked me to wait 48+ hours to be cleared and did not respond to my inquiries for two days (after the waiting) according to their tech support “Joshua Collishaw” I am over my three day trial period. I am in complete awww that he would have the audacity to even say that. I haven’t even tried the service for one second. The account setup is incomplete (banned ip) I am not going to try a service that from the get go is going to cause problems for my customers. Anyhow, he mentioned that he has made an exception and refunded my fees. I still can’t believe he would say that. I would have expected something more along the lines, that we are sorry for delayed answer and not being able to provide you a clean IP and would like to request that you give us more time to sort this out and we will extend your trial period or something. Instead I got that crappy two liner saying that I am over my three day trial period and they are making an exception for me out of the goodness for their heart. wow!

          • Enigma, thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, we do not own our own IP ranges so certain things are out of our control, we obtain them through our network upstream providers. I will review the situation with our upstream provider and look to get that problematic IP range either remedied or replaced permanently so that other customers moving forward are not affected.

I have been using the Alpharacks for awhile now and would like to share my quick review. I’ll be writing a more detailed review after a few months.

    Server: 10/10

The server was immediately activated after I ordered, and I was able to start working on it. I didn’t even have time to make a cup of coffee first, lol :)

The server works as expected. It’s quick and snappy.

    Support: 9/10

Support has always responded to my questions within an average of.. 30 to 45 minutes? I think the most I’ve ever waited was nothing more than 1 hour 30 minutes. Sometimes even within a few minutes, I guess it all depends on how busy they are at the time of the day? Either way, it’s reassuring to know that they are always there whenever I need help (which is not very often anyways).

If they offered phone support, that would be a great + to have, but what the heck? I’m paying a measly 12 dollars a year, and I’m not going to expect all the bells and whistles. I can work with the ticketing system, they always reply quick enough.

It is indeed instant setup, cpanel / whm loads blazing fast and server stats look pretty good.

Only thing you should note is when ordering “Reseller Business Plan” plan, assigned a shared IP by default and not dedicated as stated. Opened a ticket (which I should not even have to do) so we will see…

At this price not much to complain about but people should know this up front:)

    April 22, 2017 @ 8:29 pm | Reply
    • Hi Susan, when I ordered the plan I was also assigned a shared IP (banned IP at that) and when I opened a ticket, I got a response back from their tech support saying that I am the one at fault and I should have selected dedication IP option at checkout and paid the $12.00 extra for it.

I had to go back and respond to them with this lowendbox offer link and only after that they assigned me a dedicated IP (Which also was banned) and after five days they were still unable to get it unbanned and when I requested refund, they told me that I am over my three day trial period. Anyhow, they apparently made an exception and refunded my money before I took it up with Paypal.

      So just beware!

Your server is great, except for the fact that ,at least in my node, The transfer rate is 10MB/s and the I/O Speed is 5 MB/s. Which is painfully slow. Even my USB Flash Drive is faster than that. Yum -y update took hours to complete. The ticket is still on hold. I have no idea what that means.

I had a VPS with them since last year. Overall speed is good for my usage. Although there are occupational downtimes, but overall are still reasonable considering the price.
However, recently they just suspended my vm without any reason. I raised a ticket #764241, but not one seems to care about it.
Just ask questions like what services am I running, or ask me to get back to them in 48 hours.
I ask them what is issue they have detected, as I am willing to resolve them. But they just could not give me a good answer.
The ticket has been open for a few days already. they just mark it as Abuse/Suspension, with NOT reason.
    Very Bad Services, Very Disappointing.

    Everything is bad, very bad.
    Very low I / O.
Installed on 2 GB of nginx + php-fpm + wordpress
It’s simply impossible to work with the site, there are constant errors 502 and 504.
At reboot, the MySQL does not start – the timeout was exceeded.
Sometimes you can not even restart the php-fpm.
I’m scared to think about what will happen when visitors come to the site.

UPD. Few days everything was fine, for a price, of course. But today nothing works at all. Even the Client Area.

  62. In all honesty, AlphaRacks isn’t bad. In my lifetime I have been with StableHost, Eleven2, SkyNet, and a few other reseller hosting providers, and no one has been able to offer me a reseller account at $6 for a whole year. The price being offered by AlphaRacks is unbeatable but what is more important to that? The fact that it works is senior to price. The service, performance and support is just as good & responsive as StableHost’s, and actually, better than Eleven2, who I was paying $25 per MONTH!

Here’s my quick 6 month-in review with alpharacks:

If you want a straight to the point, cost effective, and no bullshit service, this is the way to go. Everything works as intended, really as simple as that.

Don’t expect the world to be centered around you, for your pennies though. They’re not going to hold your hand and skip around with you like your best friend did in middle school. But for the times I did need support (on basic issues), they were able to answer me fairly quickly!

I’m just not expecting them to configure my website, do my development coding, for what I’m paying though, so remember guys you are buying an unmanaged server. If you need a management and hand holding then you can hire someone like ServerAdminz, or even hire me, to help you.

I’m not the one to usually write reviews about companies, but I feel obliged to for AlphaRacks. I am grateful for AlphaRacks support today for helping me solve a complicated issue with my website’s script (that had nothing to do with them) – I was stuck on this issue for many weeks. I even told them they could bill me for their time, but they were happy to help me out at no charge!

Anyways I have been a customer for I want to say, at least 2 years or maybe a little less? Basically, I have been using them since the day they bought out that rijx.com company, and that’s when I got moved into AlphaRacks. From what I understand, Julian is the representative of alpharacks for lowendbox, as I didn’t see any other alpharacks staff respond here on lowendbox, but I have interacted with at least 3 different people in their ticketing system.

So, I think Julian is just trying to help the best he possibly can. If I was the rep for a company I would of course love to hear from my customers, on both the good and bad… even if my department was not in what the customer is talking about. Why do you think big companies like Amazon and IBM hire people just for customer care and follow up? It’s to maintain good relationship. Customer service is vital to survival, and IMO, Julian does a pretty fine job at that, and has handled even the obviously fake negative reviews quite professionally :)

    another review for Alpharacks,
so far so good. Trying their cpanel reseller product the server running very fast even accessed from asia because my client mainly from asia.
Trying their VPS service also very good, for that price i couldn’t ask more but seriusly its giving good performance, high i/o with high speed network except high latency due to accessed from asia.
GOOD JOB Alpharacks, and thank you julian to give us such a great deal

Seems like I made a huge mistake in buying into master reseller offer. Sadly Alpharacks seems to oversell and not monitor their servers. Hours upon hours of with load like this:

Was not expecting whole lot or very fast servers but cannot even use for sites which use a database.

If you are using for plain HTML sites (like Bootstrap which use CDN), not bad but other than that…

Sorry Julian, but sometimes the truth hurts. Having to spent my 4 of July moving sites back to my VPS…
