LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

AvailableVPS - $5 256MB OpenVZ VPS in Germany

Updated August 2011 — AvailableVPS.com has not been resolving since 21 July. They have also tried to sell their domain.

AvailableVPS An anonymouse staff at AvailableVPS tipped me with their offer on WebHostingTalk (who signed off as “Daniel”). They have also posted the same offer on LowEndTalk. For $5/month you can get the following VPS:

  • 256MB guaranteed/512MB burstable memory
  • 25GB storage
  • 1TB/month data transfer
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM

Servers appear to be in Germany with Hetzner. The plan is actually very similar to the 2 low-end SetupLink plans that I posted a few days ago — same memory, storage, bandwidth, server location and even the same AMD 64×2 6000+ host box. What’s interesting though, is allowing daily/weekly plans so you are able to fire up a VPS for a day or two to test out some settings, similar to cloud offerings at Amazon and Rackspace. You do however need at least $5 credit, which makes sense.

Domain registered since June and all info are masked out by privacy registration. Looks like it is trying to expand to multiple locations with pre-orders.

  2. David:

If you check the whois on their website IP address, it shows complete contact information. I guess that’s not masked.

  3. David:

The contact information on the IP whois is for SetupLink, though.

  12. Yes i do have a problem. Its phishy, if you also notice the so called companies on this blog that hide there whois no longer excist. (Such as diverseweb). regarding the email spam you can be spammed with whois privacy. WHT PM for example, and your support systems….

    My 2 cents :)

  17. You’re using privacy registration because of email spam? Takes two seconds to get a new email account at gmail to use for domain registrations. Sorry but that’s really not a decent excuse.

  18. There is a lot of differences between “running a business” and “running a blogsite”. You guys are the ones that we give our hard earned cash to, and trust our data and websites (and sometimes our clients’ websites) with. Why should I do these to some unnamed individuals/companies behind privacy mask?!

    Get real.

And those info posted in WHOIS can be verified. We know it if it is bogus info.

  19. @AvailableVPS – I try not to post on others threads because I don’t want to make anyone mad but trust me from experience when you are doing business on LEB — Just show proof of who you are and be open.

I think LEB is really a super high end training camp for super internet investigators. :):) If you appear to try and hide something they will find it out. All joking aside people on here are great and I owe a lot of my business to LEB but they just want to know who they are giving their money to.
