    Dear Friends,

I have bought a reseller hosting account from http://www.solvedbydata.com a few months ago. I would like to share my experience in case anyone is curious about this company.

Control Panel they use is CPanel/WHM, so it is typical and easy to use.

The support is very quick to respond. The longest I had to wait was 2 hours for a response time, and that was on Christmas day. In most cases, I do not find myself waiting for longer than 20 minutes for a response.

They run SSD servers, so the performance is quite fast.

All in all, I would highly recommend this company, although I have only tried their reseller hosting service, I am sure their VPS service is just as good.

    Regards,
    Jin Ae

      Are you serious???

If i still haven’t cancelled my reseller hosting i guess my tickets would still be unanswered because the so called “management department staff” was offline for almost a month.

On top of that, the server goes offline once or twice in a week.

Yours only went offline once or twice a week?! Lucky guy. When I was with SBD mine were going offline 40++ times per day. The monitor emails got so annoying I had to shut them off. Thank god for PayPal disputes.

    STAY AWAY from SolvedByData!

Massive overselling is the name of their game, just look in any past deals where they’ve been posted. Their support is also deplorable, and the owner will accuse you of “committing fraud” if you request a refund. I ended up having to go through a PayPal dispute just to get away from these guys – I wasted so much money on servers that ended up with LESS THAN 85% uptime week over week. Don’t do it. There’s better and more honest providers for your money.

I’ve got one of their vps and no complaints. Tickets are responded quickly and speed is on par with other colocrossing resellers.

Don’t waste your time or money with Solved By Data.
Signed up for reseller hosting plan with them via low end box a few months ago.
Server was always over loaded and slow, websites downtime and so.
End result i moved my websites away from them and was forced to open a paypal.com case against them as they would not give me my money back after 1 months poor quality hosting.

Did the “president” of SolvedByData also email you and accuse you of committing fraud against them by opening a PayPal dispute? I have exactly the same story as you – same product, same problems, same resolution (PayPal dispute). Except at the end, Taylor (the president) decided to start falsely accusing me of things before lifetime banning me. I’ve emailed him back several times, trying to understand where those accusations are coming from, and also hoping he’d be willing to hear about all the problems I had so he can improve his company, and I’ve just been ignored. This company seems to be run by a child, and not any sort of respectable business person.

I purchased a reseller account on their last promotion as well, and so far, it’s been solid and reliable. Uptime has been consistent, and the speed is better than three other hosts I’ve tried. In most cases, you get what you pay for, but in this case, I feel I have received much more.

Agree with trekkiemonster – I have tried them – oversold to the point of causing regular outages. Support was awful to deal with.

    • I though i could stay with them for a while despite all the negative review until i experienced:

Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (198,46,191,83,240,163)
      Command: STOR theme.zip
Response: 552 Disk full – please upload later
      Error: Critical file transfer error

damn, now i am more worries, need to find another host and backup immediately.

On top of all the downtime problems I mentioned in my post, disk usage was ANOTHER problem too. Much like the downtime, they kept telling me the disk usage was fixed, and it never was. It never shunk and was always 98-99% used.

So glad I got my money back from a PayPal dispute!

  13. kind of indian hosting company, i have issue with their hosting solution disk server each time is full… and their billing system is really bad, they store your credit card localy in their system. and can’t manage, remove, or cancel invoices… their payment solution is rejected by security system of master card and can’t get stop bank call back…

I opened 3 ticket now and can’t get solutions for my issue… dont trust positive comment inside… it’s realy a bad company !

System uptime 39 days, 22 hours, 25 minutes
    Running processes 30 CPU load averages 0.62 (1 min) 0.45 (5 mins) 0.36 (15 mins)
Real memory 284.07 MB used / 1.46 GB total Local disk space
    Testing download speed……………………………………………………………………..
    Download: 74.06 Mbit/s
    Testing upload speed……………………………………………………………………………………
    Upload: 295.76 Mbit/s

Overall for the price this is acceptable for $18 a year. Not perfect but this is ‘low end box’ so not expecting Tier 1 datacenter service levels either. I haven’t had any downtime unlike several other comparably priced services.

Can’t toggle off automatic payement, and reply to my request is

“I’ll forward this over to our account representatives who will be able to assist you further regarding this. Thank you for your patience.”

FOR MORE THAN ONE MONTH NOW.

Advice: Don’t leave them your banking information. unless you are sure to have control over the activation and deactivation of your credit card.

These guys are port blockers and not too technically savvy. Can’t even host a VoIP server because they consider SIP registrations on UDP 5060 as “streaming.” Never mind that streaming actually occurs on RTP ports outside their network.

Avoid them. Heavily oversold. I’ve got a shared plan from them for a simple forum and it always getting errors. Support are slow and incompetent to response, it took weeks for the to fix outgoing smtps connections to work (as their shared IP are banned on Google I’ve had to use 3rd party email provider). And I’m still have issues running website with them. It’s like 1 out of 5 page loads results an error instead. Moving away from them right now…. and downloading backup works at 40-50Kb/s :(

Got the 2GB in NY and that thing was fast. Really great machine.
Only problem is we need it to run a DNS server and they filter port 53 UDP so that we can’t run a DNS server. And their tech support can’t figure it out.
Waiting for over a month for a refund and being ignored.

If you paid with PayPal or Credit Card, then just have the transaction reversed. PayPal buyer protection stood behind me pretty good with SBD, who are completely incompetent and would completely ignore all my problems and close my tickets.
