FastVPS Eesti - €2.90/month 1GB OpenVZ SSD in Estonia

screenshot-vps2fast com 2015-02-11 11-36-44Svetlana, from FastVPS Eesti, wrote us to share this offer for an Estonia based OpenVZ SSD VPS featuring unmetered transfer on a 10Mbps connection.

The offer

  • 1GB RAM
  • 1GB vSwap
  • 5GB SSD space
  • Unmetered transfer
  • 10Mbps uplink
  • 1Gbps hostnode uplink
  • 1x IPv4
  • OpenVZ/ISP Manager
  • €2.90/month
  • €34.80/year
  • Order here

FastVPS Eesti has been around since 2006 and is a registered company in Estonia. According to the ticket, this offers is available in Atlanta, Georgia, USA in addition to Estonia. You’ll likely be able to select the location during ordering. Host nodes have disks in RAID10 and a 1Gbps uplink, so the 10Mbps unmetered that comes with these VPS seems quite sustainable. It may not be suitable for those requiring massive speeds, though. As usual, feel free to share your experiences with FastVPS Eesti in the comments.

Credit card, Paypal, YandexMoney, Webmoney, QIWI, Bank Transfer, BitCoins are all accepted payment methods. They give refunds for “prepaid days”, but I’m guessing there’s limits to this. For all the details, please read their Terms of Service (the page links to Google Translate as they don’t have an English version yet).

Приветствую! Сейчас скорость уже увеличили до 20 мбит/сек, но с лимитом трафика.

      Аплинк в 1 Гбит – медленно?
10 Мбит по тарифу, т.к. безлимитный трафик. Вполне нормально.

    • Alright, just got a SMS with my root password. The Debian template seems pretty minimal which is good I think. DD i/o test when writing a 2GB file says 220MB/s. Thats not what I expect from a RAID10 SSD but ok. CPU isnt the fastest but ok as well. You get 1 vCore @ 2,5Ghz according to lscpu. And I like the fancy IP which only consists of 0, 1 and 5 :)
Network speed test on its way.

      • VPS needs 52 seconds for “sysbench –test=cpu –cpu-max-prime=20000 run”. For comparisation: my RamNode VPS needs 24,25 secs for that test. FreeVPS Benchmark will obviously take some more time…

can you offer E3? or is it just E5s?

(E3’s typically have better single thread performance from my testing & Geekbench)

        • Hello!

At our newest nodes we use E5-2697v3, that are pretty nice too. Sorry, but we haven’t nodes with E3.

What? Why? Isn’t E5v3 and E3v3 cores are the same Haswell and they perform the same? I always thought that E3v3 is a UP and 32Gb max version of E5v3.

I think i read about the same thing somewhere before that E3 single threadly outperforms E5.

Our company rents a Hetzner dedicated from them. Need a “local” reseller, can’t order directly from Hetzner. Hadn’t had any issues with them so far and FastVPS sales/support was answering quite fast.

  10. I have been their client for couple of days now. First i payd with paypal waited like 2 hours till i got my server. I setted everything up nice and easily. I love their DNS System you can setup domain names very fast.

But there are also downsides, we are configurating with support my VPS it seems that there has been some mistake or their connections are bad. Im running teamspeak 3 server and website on their vps and ping is sometimes over 800.

Here is freevps.us test (MY VPS IN ESTONIA)

    • It has been two months and i’m moving. First i had like half month ping problems. Ping was hopping and whole server was unstabile. They blamed my connection always witch is 100MB/50MB and always has been stable. I tryed to explain them that it can’t be my fault. Then after couple of months fighting they moved my server. Now i god DDoS’ed and they blocked my UDP ports. They are asking me 23€ for opening them again ! Their support is fast but it feels like they don’t understand anything. They are talking 3 languages togheter so its hard do understand them either. Sometimes i get reply in russian sometimes in english and so on..

I reccomment it only for these wo want to beta test some project or something, but for somesort website or game server..

I think theres a language barrier.
As for the latency issues i would send them iperf and mtr bi-directional tests.
