LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

JHWC - £4.25/Month 384MB SSD KVM in Kent, UK

James, from JHWC, has sent in an exclusive offer in celebration of the New Year.

SSD VPS – LEB New Year Special 2013

  • 384MB RAM
  • 5GB SSD Raid10 Diskspace
  • 1GB SSD SWAP
  • 2 CPU Cores
  • 150GB Bandwidth
  • 100Mbps Port Speed
  • KVM/OnApp
  • 1 IPv4 Address
  • 1 IPv6 Address
  • £4.25/Month – Order Link
  • Location: Maidstone, United Kingdom

When James submitted this offer it was under his “Virt.io” brand but since then, he has incorporated his hosting company under his consultancy brand “James Hadley Web Consultancy”. “Virt.io” had been featured on LowEndBox two times since July 2012. James informs us that his company is registered for “Self Assessment” in the UK. Their nodes are using the Intel Xeon E3-1240V2, 32GB RAM and 4 Intel 520 SSDs in hardware RAID 10 (Adaptec 6805). People are often weary about using SSD’s due to the higher failure rate than standard drives. Along with their RAID 10 setup, JHWC will take daily backups of your data to a RAID6 NAS.

As we reported in Virt.io’s last offer, each vps comes with access to a free, DDoS Protected, AnyCast DNS service for your domain names as well as 100GB of free CDN Bandwidth to use with WorldCDN. They accept payments via PayPal and Bank transfer. Their servers are located at the Maidstone Studios in Kent, UK and their network directly peers with the UK’s largest ISP, Virgin Media, resulting in great domestic speeds. You can check out their terms here.

Network Information:

Servers are located in Maidstone, Kent (United Kingdom) at the Custodian Datacenter.

Yet another new brand from jtodd? Let’s see if I’ve got this right… first it was QuickVPS, then it was QualityServers, then The UK Cloud, then Virt.io, now it’s JHWC? Did I miss any?

but virt.io is still alive right? It’s a partnership with other people also?

I thought Elliot and others and others were partners. Goodluck with the new brand! All the best

    • It’s still up at the new site – same plans, packages, billing etc. Basically there was an issue where I had 1 WHMCS installation servicing servicing several brands and it wasn’t working well, so I got 1 nice site and put everything under it.

It’s not a partnership – I am the sole proprietor. I do however have a staff member on the payroll who is helping out with support.

  3. Hi James!

The Test IP doesn’t respond to ICMP which could be an issue for someone trying to ping/traceroute to get an idea on latency.

Also only getting 20/60 on the test file for my home connection with Virginmedia however get 75.35 Mbit/s from another UK box in Maidenhead.

Do you offer ram upgrades or have you got a node for these plans and you need to fill it with these plans to make it profit ect.

Thanks & Let me know :)

    • HI Jack

I’ve loosened the firewall on that server so feel free to ping/traceroute that IP now :)

Not sure why you’re only getting 20/60 I’m afraid, I was able to get quite a bit more from an OVH box and more still from a Redstation box.

This offer is to fill a node that is imbalanced as a larger customer has bought up most of the memory. That said, I have another box of similar specs where the opposite is true, so if you let me know what specs you want I’m sure I can provide it.

Alex and I are both on Live Chat at the moment so one of us can help you out there if that’s convenient for you.
