LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

Kazila - $55/Year 256MB Xen VPS

Kazila Nate from Kazila emailed me their special offer that fits our listing criteria. $55/Year or ~$4.58/month for their “KUVPS-0” package, which can be found on the unmanaged Xen VPS page (or this ordering link).

  • 256MB memory
  • 5GB storage
  • 250GB/month data transfer on 100Mbps
  • Xen/SolusVM

Servers in Plano TX according to their network page (test IP: 108.59.33.189). Their domain has been created 3 years ago and they have started as a shared hosting company (wayback machine seems to confirm that). They have incorporated in Austin TX this year (LLC).

Sorry for lack of updates over the last couple of days — work has been killing me & it’s nice to take some breath of the weekend.

    • Ha. Big backlog of posting requests and some are “even” special offers that’s time limited. But I am sure they’ll run them again soon in the future (like most retailers do when they say SALE SALE!!)

Yes, maybe they oversell the memory?

    • Hello,

We utilize 15K RPM hard drives with RAID-10 therefore we don’t allocate a “large amount” of diskspace in our packages. If you need more diskspace, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we can work something out.

      Thanks.

      Nate

  4. I got a KUVPS-1 VPS at Kazila last weekend with 512MB RAM. So far so good. I usually like to get at least 15GB – 20GB disk space, but I can get by with 10GB. The disks are fast:

    #hdparm -t /dev/sda1
    /dev/sda1:
     Timing buffered disk reads: 1124 MB in 3.00 seconds = 374.35 MB/sec
    #dd if=/dev/zero of=/tmp/test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
    16384+0 records in
    16384+0 records out
    1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 4.04608 seconds, 265 MB/s

It scored 502.6 with Unix Bench (single CPU).

I’m getting routed through he.net (the best route for me), and even though it’s in Texas, ping time from the Philippines is 200ms. Hurricane Electric in Fremont, CA is 175ms, for comparison.

Support has been responsive and helpful so far.
