RackVM - 50% off Exclusive Offer for VPS in UK

Updated Sept 2010. Yes, RackVM is in deadpool. Servers died by end of August and the website no longer resolves by early September. FAIL.

RackVM Ben from RackVM has emailed me about their up-coming exclusive offer for LowEndBox readers — 50% off discount on OpenVZ servers with coupon code LOWENDBOX-June. After the discount their packages start from just £3/month (~USD$4.33), and you get

  • 384MB guaranteed/768MB burstable memory
  • 25GB storage
  • 250GB/month data transfer
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM

Servers are with RackVM’s private rack in Kent Science Park in UK. The OpenVZ package can access 2 CPU cores and limit to 2GHz. Discount applies to monthly payments, but can also be used on longer term.

Moved me to another node which seems more stable, still waiting on a port issue to be fixed though, support seems to generally be fast but they haven’t got back to me for over a day now. Lets see how it goes.

Ok, they’ve fixed the problem I had, can’t fault the support, very helpful. The servers are fast and the one I am on now seems stable.
This is a worth while company to try, and if you don’t get what you like ask for a refund.

  7. @ Irex No the price is the same for the life of your VPS Server ( Recurring ) We shall not be increasing the prices, if anything new better offers will be applicable to existing customers.

My server been up nicely now, and looks like their ISP made some changes to network, and we’re now seeing more gblx routes instead of cogent(My main concern was network performance when i joined, pretty much because 90% of routes found their way via cogent, but now it has changed).

Good job Ben, hopefully business is doing good and profitable.

Heh, just when I comment it changes back to cogent being first carrier on almost all routes. Oh well, maybe it’s good also.

Set up my VPS last night at 2am. The support is excellent – ran into a few problems (my own errors – was tired) but Ben managed to sort them out despite the time.

  15. @Kelvin — I have just posted their new offer on France server. More memory, more disk space, 3 GBP/month, but in France OVH.

  16. @LowEndAdmin — I was thinking about that, but I’m quite needing a VPS in the UK. I’m watching the ‘uk’ rss feed, so I’ll wait until you post something with 256MB and call it a deal.
