Unmetered SSD Space for $25/yr. Is this for real Or the hosting provider will find some reason to ask for more money later?

    • Charles:

There are many unmetered shared hosting providers out there, like hostgator, bluehost, etc. This is nothing new lol. We all know there is no such thing as an unlimited hard drive. It is just a peace of mind that as long as your using the hosting for legit reasons then you dont have to worry about how much space you consume.

    • Hello Chuck!

Thank you for your interest in hosting with SolvedByData.

This special pricing is definitely (very) real and will not increase in the future. You will even be able to renew in subsequent years for the same discounted rate :)

These are limited time promotions for LowEndBox after all, that are not listed anywhere on our website. We will only be accepting orders for these special packages for a limited time. We will be expiring these offers by the end of the month or when stock runs out (whichever comes first!)

      Thanks,
      Ron

    Bandwidth & Storage Usage:
“You are allocated a monthly bandwidth and storage allowance. This allowance varies depending on the hosting package you purchase. Should your account pass the allocated amount we reserve the right to suspend the account until more bandwidth or storage is purchased at an additional fee, suspend the account until you upgrade to a higher level of package, terminate the account and/or charge you an additional fee for the overages. Unused transfer in one month cannot be carried over to the next month.”

Does it apply to the Unmetered SSD Space?

    • Hello Chuck,

I would like to apologize for the ambivalence within that statement of our TOS. I actually just had Taylor modify that section within our TOS to be more clear (thanks for bringing it to our attention)

      To confirm a few things:

      – That particular section would not be applicable to our Unmetered Shared Hosting Plan, except for the bandwidth portion of it, a monthly bandwidth allotment of 5 TB (5000GB) is included with the SHARED UNMETERED plan.

      – We will not charge anyone any overages at all, we will alert you once you are nearing your resource allocation limits, and offer you an option to either upgrade that particular resource, upgrade to the next plan up, or to turn off your service once the bandwidth limit has been reached in full, until the next billing cycle.

      – Bandwidth meter resets every month.

      – You can always upgrade to the next plan up at any time

I hope that this answer clears up your questions and I’d like to thank you again. I am more than happy to help further if you have any additional questions or concerns.

      Thanks,
      Ron

Awesome deals for sure! Haven’t a need for a shared or reseller hosting account, but could use a Virtual Server to offload some DB’s, so I picked up the “3GB VPS” deal. Plenty of RAM, and disk access speeds exceeded my expectations :-)

question, I bought a VPS (loving it by the way, the amount of ssd storage makes these offers quite nice) but if I were to purchase another plan to use as a back up server, will both plans be inside one account in solusvm or will I have to manage 2 accounts?

I apologize for the inconvenience caused and did see that our support technicians took care of this for you about four hours ago.

Additionally, we’ve identified this issue to be a misconfiguration error on our end when setting up the automation settings for this LEB plan. I have now corrected the automation settings so that it is instantly provisioned with the correct amount of bandwidth allotment moving forward.

Thanks so much for noticing this and telling us about it!

These reseller are like shared hosting right minus the unmetered bandwidth?

    August 16, 2018 @ 8:46 am | Reply
    • Hiya Sharmillan! Great question. Reseller hosting allows you to create multiple cPanel hosting accounts. A reseller account is useful if you have multiple websites that you would like a separate cPanel account for on each, and/or if you wish to sell hosting accounts to your clients.

Think of a reseller hosting account as… a step up above shared hosting. It allows you to create and manage your own shared hosting accounts.

      Thanks for your interest!

Hello. I have purchased a 200GB Reseller plan a couple days ago, and have migrated most of my client’s websites to it. I used a provider from France, their latency was great when used within Europe but not so great for Indian users. So, I would like your opinion and whether you can offer short latency for Indian users.

    Thanks.

    Hi there,
I have a doubt about latency that I would like cleared before I make the purchase. Most visitors for my client websites are from India, since your data centers are in the US, how will this affect latency for my site users.

I used a provider from France, their latency was great when used within Europe, but not so great for India users.

So I would like your opinion and if you would suggest me your reseller plan for my case.

I pinged your servers and I get 340-540ms latency.

    Thanks.

Your initial ticket was sent in on “Posted on Sunday 19th August at 21:32,” and our staff response was on “Posted on Sunday 19th August at 21:57.”

You then responded at “Posted on Monday 20th August at 16:01” acknowledging our response and with another question, and we answered again in under 30 minutes: at “Posted on Monday 20th August at 16:20”

    • Hiya Socheat! Typically all of our services are instantly activated. I took a look at your order based on your name, and the break in automation was because you ordered using a hostname with less than four characters.

I corrected it, and activated your order. If in the future you decide to order more servers with us, just make sure you use a hostname that is four characters or longer so the system can automatically provision the order.

  36. Hey, I don’t see your response to comments since last few days. Are you guys still functional?
Let us know so that we can continue with our purchase.

    • Hiya Harshit – thanks for your interest in SolvedByData :) I can definitely understand the concern here and would like to clarify one thing.

We are definitely (very) functional, and we are in fact growing very rapidly and steadily. As much as we love LEB, I do not feel that this would be a proper support terminal considering it’s technically a public board. That said, only Ron and myself are monitoring this channel during our free times – our normal support fleet consists of over 15 support staff and we stand behind our 30 minute response time guarantee by our support ticketing system.

If you have a question that needs to be urgently answered – the proper terminal to submit that with would be via our support ticket system or by e-mailing us at support@solvedbydata.com, where our entire support fleet is watching and answering questions 24×7.

Just to provide a factual update here, Mohammed was well taken care since. He was promptly activated and has already migrated a few sites to our network with the help of our support team. We are honored to have him as our customer and look forward to hosting him for many years to come!

        Thanks,
        Ron

    • Hello Mohammed,

I apologize for the initial delay in activating your account. Just so everyone else is aware of what occurred, we ran out of IP addresses on our network for a few hours last weekend, so accounts with dedicated IPs were not getting instantly activated (at the time). Our team has since added additional IPs on our network, all orders were promptly activated since and everything is back to an instant set up mode again.

I took a look at your account and see we quickly got you activated as soon as we received additional IP addresses, and also saw that you’ve since migrated a few sites to our network. I’d like to welcome you to SolvedByData and if there’s anything else we can do for you please feel free to contact us!

      Thanks,
      Ron

I raised a ticket for a shared hosting account, it has been unattended to for more than 12 hours, so make of it what you will.

    • Hello Donald!

Do you have a order or reference number? I am showing all orders on our end as activated, and do not see any pending support tickets in our helpdesk.

Also, you’ll want to make sure you are not ordering behind a VPN or proxy. Orders placed behind a VPN or proxy may trigger our anti-fraud system, and cause a small delay in the activation of your order. Other than that, everything with the exception of our Dedicated Servers should be instantly activated.

Please feel free to contact our support team if you need any more information or help. We are available 24×7 to assist you.

      Thanks,
      Ron

FYI the customer support told me they don’t allow python on their hosting, not even on the VPS. Sadly. Great offers though.

Last night they told me no python allowed on their VPS. I thought this was strange and contacted them again this morning and now they told me python is allowed on the VPS. Let’s hope whoever answered my question last night was having a bad day. I’ll go ahead and try one of the VPS and see. Thanks.

I purchased the 6GB VPS. Since purchase I have had to have the VPS “Moved” twice. First time was the server kept dropping and being unresponsive. 2nd Time because “Our hostnode disk space has been full”

Even when it is working the Network Speeds are average at best

I don’t recommend this company. A cheap Ramnode box outperforms this VPS by a long way. Especially in uptime and reliability.

Oh my, this company is a nightmare. My website has had uptime of 74% in the last 30 days. The server is always pinned. Whenever I contact them, I get a response back after few hours saying that everything should be OK now. This happens everyday.

Then two days ago the server was out of diskspace and my website would not even load because wordpress update failed. I contacted them and instead of fixing the disk space issue they offered to move my site to another server (4th move). I told them go ahead and then 12 hours later they contacted me asking me for a backup copy so they could move. Apparently there was no disk space on the server to even take a backup. What a joke.

This is the same process that WoothHosting and Alpharacks had. They would just keep migrating you around until they can go bankrupt.
