Tried a smaller VPS from them before and it went constantly down after the first couple weeks and they refused request for refund and only wanted to credit my account with them since I didn’t ask for a refund within three days. Completely ignoring the fact that it was running fine for two weeks and only then got problems.
I wouldn’t ever buy anything else from them though, so a credit to their account system is useless for me.
And they provided one of my “favorite” answers to the question “Why was it off?” -> “Could you please check now”

Same here.. I rarely post negative reviews but the Umax server I have CONSISTENTLY just offlines. 70% of the time I can turn on via console panel, the other 30% I have to open a ticket.

I’ve been using UMax on the 1GB (1024MB) LEB VPS plan for 6 months ish as a hobby server and have always found it to be reliable and consistent in speed.

I’ve not experienced the issues others have mentioned so I’m a bit surprised to see the reviews here.

I got a nice deal with UMax on black Friday (Nov 2018). For the extremely low price, the machine has a generous amount of disk & ram.

I primarily use it for a home security application where I need to keep a very up-to-date off-site copy of some data that changes very frequently i.e. I’m syncing data frequently via sftp. The performance has been fine for my application, with disk & network throughput acceptable and fairly consistent.

    dd if=/dev/zero of=/tmp/test1.img bs=1G count=1 oflag=dsync
    1+0 records in
    1+0 records out
    1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 13.3129 s, 80.7 MB/s

And downloading a 100MiB test file from Azure took 29s (Avg 27.5Mbps).

I have dual location ping monitoring every minute so have good uptime visibility for my machine. It has experienced 2 outages over the 6 months I’ve had it, one in Feb and one in March. Each was approx 1 hour. Since mid March, I’ve had 100% uptime.

This is a very junk host, they are scammers
A month ago, they often sent promotional and sales emails,
The price is 5 times the usual price.

Within half a month, they closed.
    Unable to contact without refund

Don’t buy junk small businesses, losing data can be painful.

Fortunately, I backed up the data.
