They utilize dual Intel Xeon E5-2620processors with 128GB of RAM and hard drives in hardware RAID10. Reviews have been consistently very good in the past, though in the comments of the last offer I’ve found some people who were having issues, so you may want to read up on how WeLoveServers responded to those. As always, you are welcome to share your experience with them in the comments.

WeLoveServers accepts payments via Paypal. Refunds are offered on a case by case basis. TUN/TAP and PPTP modules are supported. Additional IPv4 Addresses are $1.60 each. I tried doing a benchmark on my WeLoveServers VPS in NY (on node “Node61 – BUF”). After about an hour, this is as far as it got:

    CPU model : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1240 v3 @ 3.40GHz
    Number of cores : 4
    CPU frequency : 3399.996 MHz
Total amount of ram : 1024 MB
Total amount of swap : 1280 MB
    System uptime : 5 days, 15:20,
    Download speed from CacheFly: 1.83MB/s

Not to mention my other VPS has been down for who knows how long now (I gave up on contacting them every time it goes down). In case WLS cares, it’s on “Node68 – LA”

    • Hi,

I am Josh from WeLoveServers, this is clearly deemed as unacceptable performance. With the recent buy out of WeLoveServers, Jason has really wanted to satisfy customers, with the recent investment of new nodes, it certainly has paid off. I can personally move you over to a newer node if you open a ticket from your client area.

I hope to see you contact us soon,
      Joshua

Please dont buy from them yet because they have a history of making even bigger offers after their first offer and making anyone who availed the first offer feel like an idiot. Last time immediately the day after their first offer they made another offer where they promised to double the funds you add to their system while at the same time using the discount links ! ! ! So wait for their next offer please!

I believe this is what they refer to as a kind of “upselling” in the marketing world. They’re not the only ones that do it. Every time I go through a drive through I get upsold.

I have had WeLoveServers for over a year and I am happy. I have a previous $19 1gig server in Buffalo. Service is good. I open a ticket, 15 to 30 mins later someone responds to me. I had to have them set a ptr record for me and from start to finish i think it was 1.45 mins. For $20 a year, you cant beat that!! I would recommend them.

Nothing special IMO, but decent value for the price. My VPS in the UK is a solid performer, almost no downtime, can’t fault it for $19 a year.

I would usually recommend WLS as I have had not much trouble with them with pretty good uptime besides the occasional abuser but, I can’t believe they posted this deal.. It must have spawned some abusers because I have had problems with my VPS all morning.. It has been down for over 4 hours and even though the tech replied to my ticket 4 hours ago, it hasn’t been resolved.

I’ve only had 1 day of downtime in the 5 months I’ve been with them which was solved as quickly as possible(my own opinion). Their support staff are friendly and quick to reply although their technical “team”(I was only able to speak to one person) was bad at replying to tickets that they had already replied to(making a conversation hard to have).
The VPSes are good for the price, I had a minor disk speed issue but that was fixed within an hour of opening a ticket.

their network speeds per VPS is very slow

it’s definitely doable and worth the price you get (sub-par 50mbit speeds) but definitely not a full 100mbit which they say (except for cachefly of course). I find my home internet speeds to be faster than my VPS speeds (comcast 125mbit down).

    :( bad
I bought it because read many good feedbacks here, but:

    1. When I tried reinstall OS, got not clear installation, ut with preinstalled some services and suppport said “impossible to get clear”. Ok, not so big problem

    2. Network speed
    Download speed from CacheFly: 2.38MB/s
Download speed from Coloat, Atlanta GA: 1.25MB/s
Download speed from Softlayer, Dallas, TX: 621KB/s

looks like not 100Mbps network, right? Ask support in chat, after night he said “resolved”, but situation still same, I created ticked, he said “I set speed on maximum, reboot and check”, but speed still the same….

    3. my second node:
    System uptime : 2 days, 7:07,
    Download speed from CacheFly: 6.23MB/s
Download speed from Coloat, Atlanta GA: 3.03MB/s
Download speed from Softlayer, Dallas, TX: 10.1MB/s
Download speed from Linode, Tokyo, JP: 3.06MB/s
Download speed from i3d.net, Rotterdam, NL: 4.01MB/s

speed, yes. But uptime 2 days… I don’t use this node a weeks. So many reboots for me.

after many answers like “I increased speed for both your nodes”, I requested cacncelation

Download speed from Coloat, Atlanta GA: 1.76MB/s
Download speed from Softlayer, Dallas, TX: 14.4MB/s

I was not aware WLS had any competition because of the great service, speed, performance, uptime, and customer service. Frustrating experience so far.. I was with them back for their last anniversary special and had a mostly-positive experience..

This round has been entirely different. Got provisioned last night and the node I’m on has some issue, cant get >50KB/sec downloads from any speedtest URLs (including their own local test files) – due to consistent bursts of 10+ % loss.. I open a ticket, they say my VPS is fine and paste a result of 5 pings. It took a little more convincing but they realized there was an issue and a helpful tech quickly fixed it.. Great!

Now today my node goes down for about 30 minutes – comes back up and the issue returned. It takes 15 replies to the ticket (The first 5 telling them repeatedly what the issue is because they clearly dont understand) to get the issue slightly reduced, only getting 2-3% loss – and can manage 100kb/sec.. This has taken *hours*

Their staff is quick to respond but, for the most part, satisfied with only doing the bare minimum required to troubleshoot. (Like not even verifying fixes with a simple ping of more than 5 packets..)

I asked to be switched to another node after wasting all this time troubleshooting. No more loss – but now I have mediocre IO. Going to write this one off as a lost cause.

    I’d skip this one.

Also ran into the node is out of IPv6 addresses so no ipv6 for you issue.

This was in Dallas so.. Im not sure how their addressing is working out but if they are running out of 5 v6 ips per VM, the node must not have much of an actual allocation…

They now claim my new node which had no services running on it was dos’d. Mind you nothing had been pointed at the IP and when they sent me logs they sent me extra lines that included other VMs being auto suspended for >1000pps on the same node at the same time.

So all it takes to get shut off is apparently 1000pps per IP for 1 minute and it will trigger auto suspends of their entire infrastructure! Looks to me like someone may have identified this already – and is doing it at random since it appears to be affecting numerous VMs.

I Got a VPS with them from last year’s deal in London. The price is great no question. But I experienced a lot of server reboots I did not cause. When I contact support they are quick to respond “yes there were some issues” but there’s almost never anything about this on the network status page or their other channels (facebook, twitter).

Today the same thing, server went down, no notice at all, support was very quick to respond with “we aware of some issues”. I know it’s not an easy job keeping this stuff online 24/7, but please, send emails after/during downtime, post SOMETHING in your network status.

Ok just so you know, it’s now half a year, the constant reboots remain. 5 times over the last 2 weeks or so, support simply closed my ticket, and it just rebooted again. Nothing has changed in regards of information policy. My next server will be somewhere else.

Sadly not impressed with their service either. Main reason for buying a VPS was for IPV6. First paid for a VPS in Orlando as I probably looked at an old offer that said IPV6 was only available at this location. Set the server up on IPV4 first, all running fine then went to configure IPV6 only to find no IPV6 addresses had been allocated. Raised ticket to be advised none available on the node and offered to move to another node but would mean deleting data and starting again. Opted to get another VPS, this time in London, lesson learned from previous so checked IPV6 allocation and again, although added on at order stage, no IPV6 available and nothing from WLS to say none available. Raised ticket and moved to server with IPV6 but unreachable IPs so IPV6 doesn’t work. Raised ticket and told to “hold” while they look into it. 24 hours later still not resolved.

So sorry WeLoveServers, I don’t love you at all. Presently feeling frustrated and annoyed and you are the worst VPS supplier that I have had the misfortune to deal with.

Same here, box in London, management console shows IPV6 is active, but support said “there is no free IPv6 address in the host node”.

      • Tony:

I have been moved to a node where five IPV6 addresses have been allocated but they are unreachable from outside the network and cant’t ping out from the server. Have tried temporarily turning off IPV6 iptables as well as numerous over fixes to no avail. I believe the problem is either with the host IPv6 IPtables or the host configuration but its been nearly 3 days since I raised a ticket and still no response apart from its been referred to their “DC” whoever or whatever that is. There are other configuration problems I’ve come across and, in my opinion, it seems that the WLS Technicians do not have the knowledge to analyse and rectify any problems.

Not really bothered anymore. Paid 8 euro (annual fee) for a MegaVZ and everything worked straight off that let me do the testing I wanted to do with IPV6 :)

ptr can be changed but not by the user. You have to raise a ticket. First time I asked, I was told to wait 12-24 hours for it to “propagate”. 48 hours later and it still hadn’t “propagated” so had to ask again and second time it was working after about 10 mins.

Having been a happy customer with WLS for 13 months (renewing for a year a month ago) all of a sudden the tech support and VPS performance has fallen off a cliff. I’ve begun to suffer serious latency issues for the last 3 weeks. Then 16 hours ago I lost use of my VPS through “lack of disk space”. I’d only used 5GB of my 30GB allocation, which was corroborated by the stats in the client console. However df tells a different story:

    colsta@flibble:~$ sudo df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
    /dev/simfs 30G 5.3G 0 100% /
    none 103M 1.1M 102M 1% /run
    none 5.0M 0 5.0M 0% /run/lock
    none 512M 0 512M 0% /run/shm
    overflow 1.0M 0 1.0M 0% /tmp

Over-selling is bad enough but instead of avoiding this or at least bringing more disk online, their suggestion to this is to me me to another node!

I purchased from these guys last year, initially performance was alright. Unfortunately, the host node was about as unstable as they come. Constant crashing and super slow i/o speeds made trying to use the vps for a live website impossible.

I cut my losses and switched to ramnode with about 6 months left in my contract with weloveservers. It just sat there dormant the rest of the time, and my website performance woes went away.

    • I dont understand. WLS answers my tickets within minutes… And they’ve gone far beyond their quality of service. I dont understand this post as I’ve been with WLS for two years now. Even with the new management customer service has surpassed my expectations. The negative posts on here really must outweigh the positive experiences that people have with them as I’ve had 6 servers with them since they first started. I hope your issues are resolved and you open tickets. They reply very quickly. Take care.

      December 31, 2014 @ 2:14 am | Reply
      • ProperMeasures:

The problem is not with the speed of answering tickets, it’s with the QUALITY of the answers I get from the technicians. Plus, they will ask you to “take the proper measures” without specifying what the measures actually are. Such responses are completely vague and not useful at all.

If things run fine, you have no problems. When you encounter issues, apart from the simplest of problems, expect delays.

If WLS are so good, why is your website, openxcom.com, hosted on CloudFare, and not on WLS?

        January 1, 2015 @ 9:36 am | Reply
        • Openxcom.com is hosted on CloudFlare because it’s users come from all over the world. The server is located in Orlando, so website users in the other side of the world will get a slower experience. Users farther from the physical location of the server have a slower load time because the packets have to travel longer distances to reach my server. This is not a limitation of WLS, this is just how the internet works.

CloudFlare or any other Content Delivery Network basically holds a copy of your website across servers from all over the world – which it gets from your web hosting account or server. So users from all over the world will get the same fast speeds as users close to your server.

I would like to say I’m sorry you had a bad experience, but I cannot believe the validity of this post because I’ve had an amazing experience with WeLoveServers. Perhaps a lot of these negative posts are by “competitors” thus would make sense. WLS is top tier and I’m very happy with them. Your post seems very wrong, I hope people will stop posting false posts and post the truth. This doesn’t make sense. AVOID these SCAMMERES at all costs. I was with these guys since the beginning of November 2014, and had nothing but problems of very slow vps, constant downtime, and then a couple of days ago my vps went offline for over 24 hours, and I could not even access SolusVM. Again they gave their now lame excuses about the problems and said they would migrate my vps to a better node, 12 hours later this was not done, and then also it could not be accessed. I opened a ticked asking for my money back as these guys were not serious professionals, and could not really care about their clients, only interested in our money. I had a yearly vps for $19. I was sent an email yesterday saying I was fully refunded, I checked with Paypal, and there is nothing. My emails to them now get returned to sender. I just tested the 1GB special offer to replace my INIZ NY based openVPN VPS. The setup and support was quick and friendly, but ultimately the VPN network speeds i got from there NY and Florida nodes where unacceptable for me. Youtube, netflix, hulu all needed to buffer constantly and HD resolutions and some test from http://testmy.net confirmed those problems.

The hardware offer itself is the best i know for a VPS, 19$ for a 1GB ram + 1TB traffic compared to my 256MB + 250GB INIZ server is crazy cheap. The problem is that INIZ has a way better network connect speed for me based in germany, so i had to cancel the service ultimately.

I recommended WLS to two of my friends and both of them have the same problem, which makes their VPSs completely unusable.
The problem is that the IP of the VPS starts pointing to a different VPS after a few minutes. Then they have to restart the VPS but the problem always gets back. They contacted the customer service several times. The first time they were told that it’s a problem on their side, which is untrue. Some tickets later, they were told someone on the same node had been causing this and that they had been removed from the node. This is BS as well since 1 of the VPSs is in London and another one is in the US.

I don’t understand why this is happening since my VPS has been working well for the past 2 years. I just wish the support could actually fix this because right now, these 2 people have VPSs they can’t use and I am going to discourage everyone else from using WLS until this is fixed.

Now the server that I keep all my backups on, and use for database replication has been blown away, probably irretrievable. They have this “anti-abuse” thing and if you don’t fall within their parameters, they’ll silently shut your server down with no notice…which they tend to do anyway. Their support leaves a lot to be desired. It’s been a really bad experience all around for me.

Stay well away from these guys unless you want outages every other day. Support staff is a awful on a level I’ve never seen before. If you submit an outage ticket, all you’ll get in response is “now it is fixed” with no indication of why it went offline, let alone what was done to make sure it doesn’t happen again. For some odd reason, you’ll also randomly lose SSH access requiring you to create a serial console session or root password reset in your SolusVM panel to get back in. This would happen every other week. Never had this issue before with any other provider.

What’s funny is I was actually a BIG supporter of this company (I had 6 different VPS servers with them), recommended them to my friends on the daily, until 3 out of 6 of my servers on two different nodes started getting outages MULTIPLE times a day for almost two weeks straight despite being told everything would be fixed momentarily. They eventually disabled one of those nodes permanently, without any notice to me or even a network issue listed on their site. I lost everything on two of my servers. Gone. In hindsight, it’s honestly no surprise. They outsell the crap out of their hardware to no end with outrageous promotions that in the long run do nothing but attract abusers.

If you’re planning on using it as VPN or test server, they’re probably fine but for your own sanity and mental well-being do not use them for anything approaching a production environment. “You pay for what you get” could not be more applicable to this company.

Sadly, I have to agree that WLS have gone down the gurgler. This deal was excellent value with decent quality support when I took it out in Oct 2013. Since changing hands several months back, they now oversell like champions and the number of support tickets I’ve been obliged to raise has risen exponentially. Ticket response is still reasonable but the quality of support is dreadful. The “admins” don’t have a basic clue, giving responses to unrelated problems and frequently resorting to blaming the customer for the problems! I was knocked offline this week for 3 days due to the node being DDOS’ed. I kept asking in my ticket when I was going to get a service back up, only to subsequently discover they’d suspended *my* VPS for being involved in the DDOS! Incredulous I asked for some kind of proof, they showed *inbound* imcp packets to my vps from a monitoring host I’ve had running for last 18 months (unbelievable). If you seek latency, poor i/o, periodic unresponsive ssh access and random suspensions, jump right in. Otherwise I suggest you avoid.

I have to agree with you too. Their service has gone down big time but of late has become absolutely nightmarish. Two of my VPS were suspended without any notification, support tickets are being answered by clueless morons. They have no idea why entire node is unstable but blame it on vps running some scripts despite being told many times that there isn’t even one script on my vps. They of course don’t have any idea who is running what.
I am now moving my vps off even though I just rebilled a month ago for a year. Better pay again and sleep easy

Wow. I had a vps from them for the past few years with no issues before moving onto a dedicated box elsewhere about 6 months ago. Fast service and only one time the server was down. After a support ticket, 15 minutes later they had responded and offered to switch me to a newer node which solved the issue completely and everything even seemed faster. I had no problem recommending them to my friend when he was looking for hosting for his new business. I REALLY wish I hadn’t now though. Sign-up and setup went smoothly. We spent the following three days installing WordPress, setting up themes, plugins and writing copy for the site. Then he got an email saying the domain has been released, all his stuff was deleted from the server and they were refunding his money. No warning, no reason, nothing but a “goodbye” email after everything had been done. He’s been trying to get a response and nothing. So we are just moving on and I honestly feel sad for anyone who is stuck with them. I’m just glad I got out when I did.

Too bad because he had a good start but for my part, I withdrew all my services and it will not have a single penny.

    Worst ever

uptime less than one week then multiple hours of downtime

    Unbelievably slow and inconsistent performance

    Support staff that don’t care

They just “auto-suspended” my openvz server in UK by saying “there is a lot of connection from your server” while after asking them for log file, it was my openvpn connection to my public address in Asia! I’ve been doing openvpn since 1st day using them for 10 months and now they ask me to “come back after a few hours” when their server is stable. Now my server is still “suspended”.. asked to boot up my server and no reply whatsoever!

We pay for what we get!

aren’t these the same guys who used to run EaseVPS ? They were absolutely rubbish then, and judging by the comments, they’re no different now — thankfully i read the comments before making the mistake of purchasing from them again.
    thanks guys

I’ve had terrible experience for the ~ 10 months that I’ve been in the UK location.
    – oversold, poor performance, users are frequently unable to reach my VPS
    – terrible uptime, reboots spontaneously a few times a month
    – tun/tap doesn’t really work. well, it kinda works, but it stops working after each reboot, and I would have to go into solusvm and disable + re-enable it again.
    – things are constantly failing. from the solus cp, to the statistics, to the whm cp
    – support only attempts one thing at a time in fixing problems, and does not verify that the problem has actually been resolved. This prolongs resolution as I need to keep feeding back that it has not in fact been resolved.

    1. Quickest setup of a VPS i have ever seen!
    2. for $19 plus VAT (works out to be £15 ish per year, I’m not going to complain at all!
    3. Only intend to use this for messing about with development, MEAN Stack and other web tech

I wouldn’t spend £15 a year on essential or critical services, because you do get what you pay for in this game, however if Jason can turn it around and make it into something great you never know I might invest more money become a long term customer. Who knows.

  66. Anyone who has a UK VPS with weloveservers be warned they are being moved on to hostwinds servers which are US based, they then more than triple the price! Trying to justify it by saying their service is better than WLS and totally slagging of how WLS operated. They did not seem to realise that we don’t care that the wls servers are not backed up and are oversold! We bought them because they were cheap! I only use mine as a VPN so it is now completely useless as it has a US ip address. There answer was tough s**t, nothing we can do as we have no UK data centers. THEN YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN ON CONTRACTS YOU CAN NOT FULFIL. HOSTWINDS stay away!

Exactly the same situation for me this morning. Totally unannounced. I have already migrated my other services elsewhere, but may end up just going with a purely VPN supplier to replace the only thing that mattered that I ran on the WeLoveServers VPS.

Have dropped a support ticket asking for a refund for the remaining time I have, but not holding out much hope.

Me too – I’ve just received an invoice from Hostwinds which certainly isn’t $19. Time to leave and find someone else on here.

  68. I agree, very disappointing in their attempt to retain customers, and markedly increased timing. They had substantial downtime on several of my servers that exceeded weloveservers that they are replacing. I am looking elsewhere.

Erratic billing with invoices from weloveservers still being sent.
