1. You get a Cloud Resource Pool (complete with an allocation of bandwidth, disk space, compute resources, RAM, and IP space) — resource allocations can be upgraded at any time
2. Add your own clients via your control panel. Once this is done, you can instantly deploy their server! Your clients will get their very own SolusVM login for their VM(s).
3. You set your own prices. You decide what price you want to sell services at.
4. Over 10 possible OS for your clients to use (Linux only)
5. Deploy in 4 locations: Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Chicago!

This service is fully white-labeled, meaning you can sell servers to your customers with the confidence that your clients will not know that you are reselling our Cloud Resource Pool platform.

Sweet jesus, Jason, your support guys are useless.

I complain of sites taking over a minute to load – if they even load at all – and I get back, “it’s working fine on our end.”

I’ve tested with three different networks when I have outages – ATT, Verizon, and Spectrum – and all result in teh same problem.

You guys are seriously overprovisioning and not bothering to actually watch for issues coming up – I’m about to lose a customer because your guys can’t keep the webhosts online.

Between “Chen Tsao” and “Swen Schwartz” I’m about ready to lose my mind – and my customers.

Is it too much to ask for you guys to set a performance alert, and proactively address problems BEFORE websites start dying?

      • Vince R:

I second this. Have been experiencing issues for the past 2 weeks with slow load times (if it’s even up at all).

Their responses are always “it’s working for us” or “check performance now” or “we are monitoring and will get back to you.”

For a node with the specs they are offering, the downtime is unheard of from other providers. Do your research!

        • Same here. I cannot even ssh into my newly created vps. Its over one week the support do not resolve the matter and the tickets are getting closed automatically after 24 hours of inactivity. What a mess.

I’m in the same boat. I signed up Wednesday last week. They gladly took my money. I still cannot access my service. I requested cancellation and refund on Friday. Nothing. I opened another ticket on Saturday requesting cancellation and refund. Nothing. This morning (Sunday) they responded and said I was beyond the refund period:

            —–
Unfortunately, as you are out of our refund window, we cannot – I can issue via a pro-rata refund through the processing of a credit note, if you would like?

Alternatively, we can reactivate your service with immediate affect AND apply a free month in the process too?

We will ensure you are fully satisfied, however.
            —–

Pro-rata! For what? I have never been able to access the service. I requested cancellation well within the cancellation window.. Completely unbelievable, not to mention unethical. I’m livid. Never again. I’ve learned my lesson. My only request is that lowendbox remove any and all mention of their (woothosting’s) services and leave only a warning: Buyer Beware!

I’ve been surprisingly happy with Woothosting, and I’m pleased to be able to say this one year later. Hopefully they can get those issues sorted out for you, but it sounds like yall need to check into fine-tuning your server’s web server and look into setting up a light weight web server such as nginx. I’m pretty sure theres some tutorials about how to do that right here on lowendbox. This isn’t a managed hosting service guys. Yesterday marks my one year anniversary with them, and I made the decision to renew it for another year.

Hi, ordered a server, Took you guys a day to set it up. Did it in a wrong location, made a ticket, 8 Hours later still waiting to be rebuilt. Not so good response time.

      February 16, 2018 @ 6:10 pm | Reply
    • I have to agree… Support is non-existent! Tickets often take days before they are opened. It appears that support guess at fixes, if they even attempt a fix. “Everything fine here” seems to be a standard response. “Please send a screenshot” (often after I’ve already sent one). I currently have 4 tickets open, some for over 2 weeks! No resolution. And apparently no work being done. You should be ashamed to tout your support!

    January 18, 2018 @ 4:28 pm | Reply
    • Hi sneakzworld!

I greatly appreciate your interest in our services – great question!

While we do not provide IPs for external leasing/announcement at this time, we do provide additional IPs for use with our services, which are available at a competitive cost.

Additionally, all of our Hybrid Servers (https://www.woothosting.com/hybrid-servers.html) include 5 IPs by default, but can be customized and provided with more based upon your requirements.

If either of these options sound interesting, or if you’d be willing to provide me your requirements, please feel free to reach out to me directly at jason (at) woothosting (dot) com.

Your Cloud Resource Pool, is this based on OpenVZ or KVM?

What Kernel version do your OpenVZ VPS run on? Do they support Docker?

    January 18, 2018 @ 8:55 pm | Reply
    • Hi Aaron – thank you for reaching out!

While our Cloud Resource Pools are based upon OpenVZ virtualization technology, those requiring Docker will need to utilize a KVM-based solution, such as one of our Linux KVM specials at https://www.woothosting.com/2018 – I do hope that there’s something on here that will benefit your requirements, but either way, do let me know if there’s anything I can assist with (or let me know what your particular requirements and interests are) — I can be reached directly at jason (at) woothosting (dot) com.

    • The Cloud Resource Pool they use is based on OpenVZ Virtualization and since their kernel is old, it wont support docker… . but I think it should work fine on their KVM VPSs or their hybrid servers…

      January 19, 2018 @ 4:46 am | Reply
      • Hi Harsh — again thank you!

I did want to take the time to also address something I see regularly asked about — we are running the latest kernels available for RHEL6 builds (https://openvz.org/News/updates).

Similar to many other providers, we have first hand experience that these kernels are providing increased stability over OpenVZ host nodes running RHEL7.

Thanks for also addressing Docker — to run Docker upon our services, a client would need to check out either a KVM VPS or Hybrid Server =)

        Thanks again!

  11. Hi Dennis,

Right now these Cloud Resource Pool specials are fundamentally built upon OpenVZ-based virtualization which does not unfortunately allow for Windows at this time (nor is it expected anytime soon) — Windows-based implementations would need to be built upon KVM-based virtualization — what I’d like to do is find out what your particular requirements are and I can see about putting together a customized solution – it’s my hope that we can find a way to work together.

    • Hi Daniel!

Excellent feedback — in the past, we have experienced and tailored the provided allocation of DDoS protection based upon real world requirements of clients. We do certainly have other options available when more protection, or more sophisticated protection is needed (either temporarily, or permanently).

It’s good if you can tailor a temporary mitigation. But I still don’t know the included mitigation can provide how much protection. How much Gbps or PPS?

        • Hi Daniel, thank you for reaching out for clarification!

The default amount of DDoS mitigation provided is 3Gbps — we find that this suits the majority of users and if you have any particular needs or requirements, please do feel free to reach out to me directly and let me know what it is you’re looking for (I’d be glad to help!) — I can be reached at jason (at) woothosting (dot) com

Now I am curious. You said VPS and dedicated in the same sentence. Are you implying I can use large portions (say 95%) of the resources for large durations of time?

    January 19, 2018 @ 12:47 pm | Reply
    • Hi cheapwebdev,

Great question — services are allocated dedicated (carved out of available capacity) resources, specifically for RAM and disk space. To help keep costs affordable, but also provide clients with the value of being able to utilize available compute resources, CPU allocations on virtualized environments are provided fair-share use, similar to how other providers do it. For power-users who utilize services in a manner where they need a lot of compute power constantly, we do recommend hybrid and dedicated servers based upon the client’s particular requirements. These two options will provide a value with access to a greater amount of compute power (hybrid) or the server’s full computing power abilities (dedicated).

Please do feel free to reach out to me directly to let me know about the specific requirements or needs you have and are interested in. I’d be more than happy to put together a customized solution for you. I can be reached at jason (at) woothosting (dot) com.

Do feel free to sign-up and see if the disk performance would be adequate for your needs, if not, I’d certainly like to explore other options that would satisfy your requirements (we do have SSD-based hybrid server options available, so effectively, I would just need to know your requirements so I could put together an optimized solution).

Please feel free to reach out to me directly at jason (at) woothosting (dot) com with any questions, any feedback (if you sign up), or with your requirements and I’d be more than happy to put together a solution for you!

      Thanks again!

    • Hi Richard,

Thanks so much for taking the time to provide your feedback — it’s greatly appreciated and we sincerely value your business!

We did have a substantially positive reception for expansion in the midwest during the last client-feedback poll we conducted (the highest demanded location was Chicago), but there were a couple high-ranking midwest locations as well, so we’ll certainly be seeing if this demand holds true the next time we request feedback!

If in the meantime, there’s anything I can assist with, or do to make your experience with our company better, please do not hesitate to let me know — I can be reached directly at jason (at) woothosting (dot) com.

We do allow email servers to be ran on our services as long as they are for legitimate purposes and comply with CAN-SPAM act. This ensures that IP reputations are maintained and that IPs, when abused, get promptly delisted.

Can we put a server behind cloudflare and make all other outcoming traffic routed through TOR network as long as it’s not running as exit node?

    January 20, 2018 @ 11:17 am | Reply
    • Hi nocturnal!

While not inherently prohibited, I do appreciate you checking in prior to signing up to see if there’s any issue with it. We’ve had clients who have utilized our services in such a manner in an appropriate fashion in the past (and present), and we’ve also had clients who have utilized services in such a manner that caused issues. Effectively speaking, it would be best to reach out to me directly so we can discuss the parameters in greater detail so that I can let you know with greater certainty — if such utilization has been problematic at other providers, I would likely say it will be problematic here too… if other mainstream providers that abide by US laws are allowing your utilization and it hasn’t been problematic / causing abuse complaints, then I would likely glean that it would be appropriate here as well =)

I do apologize, like I’ve mentioned, I’ve seen such use-cases be both problematic, and on the other side of the spectrum, completely without issue.

If I can assist you with anything further, please do let me know – I can be reached at jason (at) woothosting (dot) com.

I have 3 pool services with woothosting. Actually not happy with it. It has happened many times that all the vps servers are not reachable, as they are on same node. This morning I have about 10 VPS unusable, as they are all on one node LAXOVZ10. Till now, the servers are still not stable.

I don’t know if it’s only my issue, or other guys also have similar experience. My guess is woothosting is over-selling, otherwise the cost cannot be this low. Or somebody is abusing the server, and woothosting has no way to stop such abuse. Anyway, I don’t plan to renew my plans after one year. Very bad experience!

Hey! I’ve been a customer for a while, and no ones ever reached out to me for all the issues we’ve had. We should have dropped WootHosting a long time ago, but have stayed faithful (or dumb). Our servers are always going offline and I’ve reached out to you personally, never to hear a response. Quite a few WootHosting issues have cost us thousands of dollars and lost us just as much. What can you do to rectify the issue? I’ve reached out to QuadraNet, who controls all your reseller accounts (why not go straight to the source if no one else is solving problems right?), and they’re faster to fix the issue than WootHosting support; whom sometimes takes more than 24 hours to respond, and sometimes will ask for additional information that’s already been provided. Does support not speak English? Just trying to figure out the reason for the excessive downtime consistently with no support available, and half the time you can tell by the wording, that the response is from a non-native English speaker. QuadraNet even told me they can beat your pricing as the source, and will give a discount on top if I switch to them and leave WootHosting, so that I can have quality service with quality support… paying even less. I will await your response JASON CHUNG.

  31. We’ve given WootHosting the benefit of the doubt for many months because of the pricing, but I’ve got to say, they are almost as bad as CloudAtCost, and I didn’t think that was possible. Be prepared to buy several VPSs because some will have problems almost all of the time. I’ve even gone so far as to compare one of our VPS deployments to a competitor with a similarly priced VPS. Before you waste your money, watch this YouTube video showing the actual performance. This was after a week of opening daily tickets complaining about the performance, by the way. WootHosting finally told us the server was operating within specifications… theirs. YIKES!

      • Hi Jason,
I appreciate your concern. I’ve opened 3 new tickets today on six separate VPSs. The problem is that your techs will fix these over the course of the next day or so, but there will be more problems just like these in the next couple of days. It’s like playing Whack-A-Mole except I have better things to do than babysit your servers. The VPSs obviously are worthless because they don’t stay in operation long enough to actual use them for “real work.” You should have no problem finding my tickets if you are truly interested in improving things.

We’ve had nothing but the same experience! How can this all be fixed Jason? Do these issues have any plan to be fixed? There are too many issues that go unresolved, and the false advertising for 24/7 support is what gets me. Being able to submit a ticket is not support. Having a response to a ticket in a timely fashion (less than 5 minutes) is support. Otherwise, all the false advertising should be removed. By the way, are you even in the US Jason? We’ve attempted running many background checks for your name, and no results are returned for citizenship, nor anyone returned with the same name in the same field of work. We’ve also worked with ICANN and cannot verify the contact nor address information supplied for the WootHosting domain. The domain registry has advised that we begin migrating all data away from WootHosting and DO NOT place any confidential information on Woot’s servers for the chance that Woot is actually a scam front posing as a hosting company to steal confidential information and make a buck. Just like what happened to “WeLoveServers” and a few other fake hosting companies, that for years went unnoticed because they operated so legitimately, even ‘handling support’ within minutes of a ticket. Their scam went unnoticed because they actually operated to some extent as a real company should with 24/7 support, a phone number to call, and even got a business license! Woot supplies a phone number, that when called is “no longer in service” and when run through a telco registry comes back as an IP/Wifi phone number (VERY popular among scam artists).

      See for yourself! https://whois.icann.org/en/lookup?name=woothosting.com

Google the address WootHosting supplies. Unless the hosting company doubles as a real estate agency, then they are most certainly a very well devised sophisticated scam.

    This is pretty ridiculous.

Not only is my OpenVZ VPS not pinging I can’t even access it via the manager they provide. Just says “unknown” status. It’s been down pretty much all day, and no one’s really replying to the ticket I put out. Honestly, I think if anyone is thinking of using the service seriously (for clients, etc.) I would steer clear. If you aren’t doing anything critical, then it’s not too bad. But, I even tried their $1 shared hosting, that would barely load a brand new wordpress site. Just kept on getting timeout errors.

Looks like the issue was resolved, but 3 hours is a lot of downtime. The exact same thing happened exactly one month ago (3 hour downtime – a pattern?). I definitely appreciate addressing my issue within the day (Jason). I will say that my past year with 3 of your products, the service has been pretty good considering the price (all issues addressed within 24 hours). But, it’s definitely difficult to recommend your servers to someone expecting to use this for something where latency, speed, or uptime are paramount.

I am still using the two VPS that I purchased as load balancers, SFTP backup, script testing, and email routing. Granted I’m using OpenVZ and not KVM – maybe KVM would have a better experience? For those use cases I feel confident. Just wouldn’t plan on using them for websites. The shared hosting for $1 was definitely not a good experience. I tried using it on separate days across multiple weeks at random times, each time I would run into problems with WordPress spitting out errors like cannot reach servers or ping timeouts, etc.

I’m not too far from Chicago myself (Des Plaines) so this location is something I’m interested in. Anyone used their new Chicago DC yet, how is it if so?

Bought the $6 yearly one. CPU power is pretty bad around 499MHz, however, I’m using it just to fiddle around with my game server. Using the Crystal language. Re-compiling a Crystal program takes over 2 minutes on this, and only 3-5 seconds on Windows on Bash with a i7 2600, lol. Thought that was pretty funny.

You get what you pay for though, I love it and template re-installs are fast, reboots are fast, etc.

Hey looking at ordering from Woot. But had a few questions before i order but no one has responded to my 2 tickets. =( Had some questions about the renewal. They have a annually one that is pretty cheap and seems like it would fit pretty nicely. 8 core 8 gb ram for 9 a month. But was wondering if the price changes after the month. And was looking into the reseller account as well? Hey how are the cpu’s? i cant find much info on the actual server other then how much ram and vcores. any one know?

QuadraNet – Los Angeles, CA Test IPv4: 198.55.111.5 is China CN2 route.
But I bought a year to pay $ 6 is not.
    Is this a fraud?
Because China CN2 route is obviously better than 163 route.

      Update:
Now is much better than last night but I am still concerned. More time spent, so I will keep it going in two locations for now.

FYI: The LA node currently has network issues, when trying to connect to other computers. (i.e. ‘Yum update’ stalled at the network level, while the server speed was fast enough after the downloads where done)
      Thanks.

  54. WARNING : I had one of those for last 6 months.

Never seen anything this slow, several minutes to load an application.
Very slow to answer tickets, unacceptable answers.

The only thing that works is the CPU, but you aren’t supposed to use it in a shared environment.

    AVOID.

I bought an OpenVZ vps at a yearly pricing in the LosAngeles region, uptime is decent… but the “1gbps” speeds is more like 80mbps, I understand it is shared but whatever. I tested using speedtest-cli which uses ookla’s speedtest servers.

    • Diego:

That’s not really their fault. Find a better way to actually benchmark a server connection, instead of being throttled on the test by the remote server. Speedtest.net is not intended to test server connections, most of the speed test servers are on shared 1gbit ports, and some even on 100mbit lol. (The ISP I worked for last year used to a host a server for speedtest.net so I know)

I understand it’s only $6/yr but jeez, I just want a working VPS >_<. However, from Jan 26th when I first bought it, the VPS was fine in the beginning. But now it's gone downhill I think.

But I mean, when the VPS is online everything works and it's slow (which is fine for $6/yr), but when it's unavailable, kind of rubs me the wrong way

Warning to everyone considering this: if it’s too good to be true, it usually is.

After placing an order on the 7th, I didn’t get the service activate OR one single stinking reply from support until the 9th. By which time I requested a refund — and when that didn’t work, I opened a dispute with PayPal.

Not surprisingly that’s when support “woke up” and miraculously saw my tickets. Now they’re telling me to “cancel the dispute” but when asked if I get my money back, they COPY&PASTE their 3-day money-back guarantee as a reply. Remember, I didn’t get the VPS setup so I don’t know exactly in which bizarro world that qualifies as me using their service.

It’s as if they’re purposefully stalling time so that they can say that 3 days have already expired. And I got 0 service for what I paid.

Whatever, hope you’re happy for getting $8 bucks.

    Avoid… at all costs.

  65. I have had nothing but trouble with Woothosting.
Created VPS with Ubuntu 16.04 and root login would not work. Created new vps with Debian 7 and root login worked but package manager was broken and missing. Ticket Response is slow, no phone support provided. If using this for commercial applications steer clear. There is also major problems with account panel and control panel logging you out saying your credentials are invalid, and then blacklisting your I.P. after 3 incorrect login attempts with absoletely no warnings, it tells you to contact customer support that averages 12 hour response time. Also not all of the nodes are available for provisioning and only Miami and LA work some of the time.
If you all wish to fix my account login and broken VPS client id#: 7444686061
VPS can be reset no important data on it yet

  66. Unhappy Company using WootHosting:

    Our Company-wide Review of WootHosting:

We have problem after problem with WootHosting on every account we hold; and we hold MANY. We have started migrating all sites away from WootHosting due to the extreme downtime, lack of communication from support (sometimes takes 3-4 days before anyone reaches back to you.) For example, a server recently went down. I put the server domain as well as IP address as the ticket name and asked that support please get the server back online since we couldn’t access the management panel for the server either (after about the 20th time in the last 4 months). It took 2 days for a response, and the response was, “Please provide the IP of the server.” Really? Are they even reading the tickets? Sometimes the response doesn’t even fit the support inquiry and the responses always come from someone with a very foreign name. When the servers work they work “ok” until they go offline a few days later and the servers need to be restarted, if they’re even accessible through the control panel. I’m going to create a website and start posting all the responses to the tickets we’ve received as well as our clients, for the public to see exactly the kind of service and support you will receive through WootHosting; less than acceptable. They love to say “Keeping your business alive,” but with WootHosting you may have to resuscitate or revive your business and keep it on life support 24/7 for fear that it may “pass away” the moment you’re not paying attention. In December, we held a convention with more than 5000 people, midway through the presentation the WootHosting server went offline and we had to refund everyone that came to the event and lost time, energy, and money!!! It became a waste of time!!! WootHosting made us look bad to our clients! We contacted Woot at the moment the server went down. The help request was responded to the next day! Very unacceptable, and there is no phone number to call. I reached out to Jason in December for another client who requested a large-scale server setup for a quote, and have yet to hear back from him, almost 3 months later.

    • WOW! That’s a horrible experience! I hope your next provider has better results, my advice would be that the really cheap or free hosts are just cramming a lot of people onto struggling servers and that’s how they can afford it. Actual quality hosting costs money, and in your case that’s something I would suggest – look for something that costs at least $10/month and you’re in the ballpark of decent, reliable hosting.

I logged into Server81 today and the loads were in the 30-40 area – NOT GOOD!

  67. Adam Smith:

Want to be able to sleep at night? Want a website that will stay online at least 50% of the time? Then STAY AWAY from WootHosting. Being down for 2-3 days is normal. Server loads are always 10 times what the server can handle. Even trying to open cpanel requires 10 minutes plus and that is on a good day. You can complain and whine all you want. Response is always we are looking into it.

Things have been great for the last few months but starting in January the service is trash. I have a re-seller account and a a VPS with 4gb of ram and it took 3 hours … yes 4 hours for me to install build-essentials on ubuntu to run some benchmarks.

When trying to create a VPS in NY on the re-seller accounts it says there is no nodes available or gives me a VPS with a nic that cannot be used.

My incident is being “Monitored” for the last 4 days I have created a VPS on another node that is partially working. Basically I have resources that I have been unable to use on my account because the servers are so overloaded that I cannot create any reliable services.

  71. I am getting emails constantly for the past few days from uptimerobot every time server81 goes offline. The loads are 30+ constantly.

I’ve had an account on server81 when the loads were 0.01 and the disk was at 30% capacity and that was only a few months ago. Now it’s constantly 30+ with a 99% full disk. It is a perfect example of what happens when nodes get overloaded to sustain the low price. Don’t run a business with their shared hosting in my opinion you will regret it. If you want something stupidly cheap that is for a hobby or learning purposes, be aware that this company basically sells cheap toys.

  75. I have a cPanel/WHM reseller account on them and two cloud resources pool.

Firstly, their cPanel/WHM web server seems to be overloaded (18.57 for 8 cpus as shown on cPanel).

And about cloud resource pool, it is very hard to get a stable VPS on. Creation, deletion, reconfiguration, OS reinstall, multiple request on their SLOW SUPPORT, … But after all, you can get running VPS after a week.

Asked multiple time for refund but declined.

Also recorded multiple downtime on their servers (both cPanel and SolusVM).
