    August 9, 2017 @ 10:35 am | Reply
    • Hi rombhi,

While nixos is not presently an option available in our pre-defined templates for OpenVZ, I will have our team see about getting this added. In the meantime, this should be possible with any of our KVM packages — so what I would like to do, if possible, is find out what you’re looking for in terms of resources and I’ll put together a solution for you that will hopefully fulfill your expectations — if you do not mind, please reach out to me at jason@woothosting.com — I promise to make it worth your time.

      Thanks again!

    Hey Jason,

I’m interested in knowing if the pricing for open VZ is locked in and secure just like the other plans available above. I’m looking to move my woocommerce website over and use it as a sandbox to develop more on Magento :)

    • Mike:

Also, I think my IP address got throttled due to me trying to download all three 100mb files to test responsiveness between the three server locations… so woothosting is loading kinda slow for me now lol.

      August 9, 2017 @ 11:48 am | Reply
    • Hi Mike!

First off, thank you for your interest in our services, I do hope that we have an opportunity to work with you!

All of the promotional offers that are being provided will renew at the same low promotional pricing — that is to say, discounted pricing is “locked in” for as long as you keep the service active. There are no hidden fees or down-the-road price increases.

If something looks suitable to you, please feel free to sign up and take advantage of these specials — again, I thank you for your interest, and as always, if there’s anything I can assist you with, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

About the potential throttling — oops! Please feel free to let me know your IP when you reach out and I’ll take a look into that personally =)

      Thanks!

    August 9, 2017 @ 12:12 pm | Reply
    • Hi John,

Our OpenVZ OS templates are essentially the following:

      CentOS 5 and 6 (32-bit)
CentOS 6 and 7 (64-bit – either version available with “regular” or “minimal” install templates)
      Debian 7 (both 32-bit or 64-bit available)
Debian 8 (64-bit – available with “regular” or “minimal” install templates)
Ubuntu 12.04 and 14.04 (32-bit and 64-bit available for either)
      Ubuntu 16.04 (64-bit)
      Fedora 25 (64-bit)

If there’s anything custom/special you’re looking for, feel free to reach out to us via support ticket, and we can see about getting it added.

      Thanks again for your interest!

  8. Jarry:

The topic is very misleading, at best:

“DDoS Protected cPanel Hosting, OpenVZ VPS from $1.00/year”

That comma separates cPanel Hosting from OpenVZ VPS, so quite naturally one might think $1.00/year applies to VPS. Or in other word, typical clickbait. Serious hoster should not use it…

    • Hi Jarry!

First off, thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback — I apologize for the confusion and appreciate the input, which I’ve passed along to our team for review.

I’ve been there for 6 months on a reseller plan. My sites are down almost every day. I prefer to pay a little more and have better uptime than this. I hope they solve these issues soon. I was at Hostdime and never had downtime, but the prices are diffrent of course. Anyway, they offer these small prices which are great, but the uptime isn’t. Support isn’t bad. For me the only problem is the downtime.

Hi Jason, when are you going to solve the downtime issues in this server: http://ns5.nspops.com/ ? Everyday is the same thing. It has been 2 months now that you “upgraded” the server, but the services are worse than ever. I spent a lot of time migrating my websites, since your support said that they would not migrate automatically, so I had to do all manually. I would have changed the host already if the migration was easier. We are people on this side you know? Not toys.

    August 10, 2017 @ 5:12 am | Reply
    • Hi als,

I greatly appreciate you signing up for our services and I’m sorry to see that you’ve initiated a cancellation already — because I’d like to make sure that this problem that is being reported is addressed for you. The “$0.75” pre-renewal should be billed just as advertised and noted upon the order form (annually, not monthly). Therefore, I’d like to make sure that I speak with you, review your account and make sure that things were being properly set up by our automated system — again, to reiterate, it should only be billing annually. While I’m sorry to see that you’ve initiated your cancellation already, I would still like to extend my offer to review this and address it, if you were to reach out to me directly to allow me this opportunity, I would certainly make it worth your time. If this sounds fair to you, I can be reached at jason (at) woothosting (dot) com.

      • als:

Actuallly, the renewal was monthly in the order form (as an add-on) which was later reflected in the billing information in the personal cabinet. Could be a left-over as part of your regular prices. This was quite surprising and didn’t seem logical. So, in the ticket I first asked to cancel this add-on, if possible. The ticket was “escalated” but is still frozen. Of course, if you can put it right, I’d gladly stay. Still cancelling the add-on seems the easiest way to be back on the $1-1year cycle.

Hi Jason, I would like to know if it is possible to install nodejs or is it included in the US$ 1.00 shared hosting.

    August 10, 2017 @ 1:41 pm | Reply
    • Hi Rolando,

Unfortunately to utilize nodejs, either an OpenVZ or KVM based VPS solution would be required — at this time it does not function properly in our shared hosting environment; I do apologize for the inconvenience.

We do have the OpenVZ plans listed here on promotion, but if you’d prefer a KVM-based plan, I can certainly assist you with one that would fulfill your resource requirements if you send me an email.

If there’s anything I can assist you with (either now, or later), please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly at jason (at) woothosting (dot) com.

The timeout issue has some improvement after WOOTHOSTING expanded to other city.

But I keep seeing a “Killed” word show up and end the execution of my process.

I pay for the cpu, memory and network bandwidth and my process all running with low resources usage.

What is the criteria that will trigger this ? Who give you the right to do this?

If that sounds reasonable to you, please email me at your earliest availability – I can be reached at jason (at) woothosting (dot) com.

Is there any bandwidth overage charges if my VPS exceeds the monthly badnwidth quota ? I saw a plan with 3TB transfer quota, in case if I exceed this limit is there any charge or simply my VPS network is cutoff ?

I am saying, user will not have the chance to over the quota, because your system automatically limit user’s application.

          • Hi Eric – you’re correct =)

We find that this is the preferred way to have things set up by default — it prevents users from being hit with unexpected bills. Sometimes exhaustion of a quota is indicative of a problem that needs to be resolved, clients usually prefer catching and resolving such matters sooner than later.

    • Hi Akshay,

While we do provide rather liberal amounts of bandwidth with any of our packages — we do understand that some clients need more, and we do provide higher allocations at very discounted and attractive pricing.

To address this concern though, there are no hidden fees or charges — no overage charges. If one of your services with us approaches its monthly bandwidth allocation, you will receive an email alert to the email address you place on file with us — then once the service exhaust it’s bandwidth allocation for the billing period, it will be temporarily suspended. When the service in this suspended state, you’d be able to temporarily, or permanently upgrade the bandwidth allocation with us — at which time the service would be unsuspended (otherwise, the service would automatically unsuspend and be active again at the start of the next month cycle).

Again though, we are extremely flexible with bandwidth allocations and we can definitely work out a bandwidth plan for anyone needing something beyond what our standard packages or promotional offers include — if you are needing anything, or if I can assist you in any way, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly at jason (at) woothosting (dot) com.

  23. Well I for one haven’t had any issues with Woothosting, they have surprisingly been one of the more reliable hosts compared to the other providers on here. I am personally on server72 and I’m loving my reseller account. Mods can PM me for the domain of my reseller host. From what I understand, all the complaints on here are stemming from customers on one problematic server. Shit happens, no matter if you are hosting with GoDaddy, Hostgator, RamNode, or Woothosting, Every host is bound to have issues with a server here and there, and what matters is how the host resolves the issue and communicates with the customer. As another small hosting provider myself, I would like to think I’m pretty spot on when I say that consumers are more likely to share the drama (negativity), than to share the positive experiences.

Remember, there’s not a perfect host for everyone, but there’s a perfect host for you.

BEWARE OF THIS BUNCH OF IDIOTS

I bought a 100GB Master Reseller package, which took 3 different names, before the Max Mind did not approve me as fake (just misconfigured), so the order also took nerves and the support just did not helped.

Then I tried to used the space, which was nearly impossible, because the server load was almost between 12 and 64!!! Which is completely insane!!

Then I tried to use SSH, generated the keys on cpanel and copyed it local, first time failed, second time I came in and it worked for a few hours before the first error was back and I did changed nothing local, writing the support did also not worked, because they just have no clue about their systems.

Then I could used the space a bit and installed koken, to host a few private pictures, just 12 hours after I finished everything and woke up again the space had a data crash and the complete data and configs for the site were gone!!

They even did not informed me about this issue and the support did not answer my question.

So I opened a Paypal case for fraud and they did not get in touch with me, just closed my account and did not paying back the money which I send them, these kids are incompetent fraudsters, so BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!

should believe what you’re saying? I’m inclined to not because the fact that maxmind rejected you not once, but twice speaks.

it’s gonna disable your services if you open a PayPal dispute, I believe WHMCS does that automatically. PayPal takes the funds from company and puts it in limbo before returning to you — they don’t have your money anymore!

For record: not a woothosting customer (yet), but felt the need to chime in. I run internet seo company, and hate customers who resort to whining and PayPal disputes.

      • Hi Dan!

Thank you for your interest in our services, and if there’s anything I can assist you with, please just let me know.

You are correct, when PayPal disputes occur, the funds do get taken back, held, and given back to the buyer — they are removed from the control of the seller.

Regarding Maxmind though, sometimes it’s a bit finicky and through our years of using it, we’ve seen it develop, improve, but we’ve also seen it flag and find risk with legitimate sign-ups, clients. While we do have it configured in such a way to limit this from occurring, it’s a good system, but not a perfect system :)

Again, if there’s anything I can assist you with — please just let me know. We look forward to working with you!

        Thanks!

    • Hi xyl0n,

Thank you for reaching out and signing up with our services — though I understand at this point, you may no longer be a client of ours, I appreciate that you did consider our services and signed up.

While Maxmind is in place as a mechanism to deter illegitimate sign-ups, it is not perfect and at times it surely does cause problems to legitimate sign-ups — I understand that you encountered this problem and I do apologize for the related inconvenience (though I’m glad that you found a workaround).

Secondly, the server load issue that you’re mentioning is atypical, and we do have solutions available if this is encountered for a beyond reasonable period of time (obviously load fluctuates, but it should not be at levels that render the node unusable). I’m always here to address such issues, and I’m also here to help in the event you’re dissatisfied with the experience you receive from our support department. I can be reached at jason (at) woothosting (dot) com.

Lastly, I do apologize that your services became unavailable once you opened a PayPal dispute. Once this occurs, our WHMCS instance is notified, it is alerted that the payment has been reversed, and it then disables the associated service(s) due to the services being in an “unpaid” state. This is automated however. Additionally, regarding refunds that occur with the opening of a dispute — PayPal will take funds back, hold them for a period of time, and then provide them back to you. Even with our approving of the reversal to help expedite the refund, once the funds are in a state of dispute, they are no longer in our control, nor is the time-frame. At this point you’re subjected to any delays and the timeframe imposed and controlled by PayPal — in such a situation, if funds are not yet received, but a dispute is open, you would have to deal with PayPal directly to request funds, or updates as to when they’ll be returned to you.

In summary though, I’d like to thank you for giving our services a try, I do apologize that during your time with us, you did not encounter performance that satisfied your expectations. If there is still an opportunity for me to assist you in any way, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly at jason (at) woothosting (dot) com.

I first and foremost want to thank you for being a client of ours and I’m extremely pleased to hear that you’re interested in expanding your services with us.

Regarding CPU specifics for our nodes (OpenVZ and otherwise), we do have a wide assortment of CPU’s in our environment. Most nodes utilize late generation Intel Xeon E3-124x and dual processor E5-26xx; some dual Xeon E56xx are also utilized due to their performance merit. Upon ordering, services are deployed upon one of our nodes automatically. We do have some clients that request or need specific CPU architectural features, for such requirements, we do ask that you speak with us and we’ll do our best to accommodate =)

I signed up for the Business-level Shared plan, and I also had the “fraud” alert, and it turned out it was due to some IP issue at work. Customer Support fixed the issue, and my account is active.

    Two observations:

    1. The service is fast. And I mean fast. Well, in comparison to DreamHost, anyway. I’ve been with DreamHost for well over a decade, and just got used to their performance. Woothosting installed WP in literally seconds, and I’m using the Elementor plugin, and it’s amazingly peppy. And the site renders quicker tham my DreamHost WP sites. Yes, it’s subjective, but it’s also veru obvious.

    2. I paid for the SSH add-on, but I can’t figure out how to use it. I enabled SSH keys, but when I point Putty to my site, there’s no response. Is there a specific port that I should be using, since 22 and none doesn’t work.

That said, for the price, this simply couldn’t be passed up. If they perform even close to how DreamHost has performed over the years, then I may be transferring many of my sites to Woothosing.

Time will tell, but thanks for a great first impression!

  34. woot sucks:

I signed up on a previous Woot Hosting ‘deal’ and let me just say that support and the service itself was terrible from the start, even running a basic wordpress installation was maxing the CPU allowance and I was constantly having my site down every 5 minutes “for using more than allowed limits” and despite all the FUD you get here from Jason the owner, it simply isn’t worth anyones time to move a site over to Woot.

The interface is nice and that is about all. If you love downtime and to receive alerts every hour that you’re consuming too many resources and slow speeds then by all means move your site to Woot. If the site means anything to you, avoid it at all costs. When support was emailing me back days later, it often appeared to me that it was run by a bunch of monkeys.

Even after I cancelled my service, I received an email from ‘support’ to say “hey man just give it a try a bit more, you haven’t really tried! we can fix the issues”…. but too little too late, they blamed me originally saying it must be something I had done (it was a default wordpress install with nothing even added yet before the site began timing out, completely maxing resources, etc…) and after removing wordpress and having just a standard html page…. even that was spiking CPU usage for no reason at all.

Woot is definitely one to avoid. It’s not even a case of ‘you get what you pay for’ because even for $1 a year, it’s not worth it.

If you were to obtain services in LA and then wish to change location (New York, or Miami), migration would certainly be possible — it is necessary that I mention that by changing geographical location, a change of IP addressing would be required. Our support team is also available to assist you (with both the migration and the IP change) if you did opt to do this =)

If there’s anything else I can assist you with – please do not hesitate to let me know – I can be contacted at jason (at) woothosting (dot) com

      Thanks!

    Hi Jason,

Thank you for your deals. I can’t wait to order a VPS. I have few queries regarding payment and bandwidth charges.

    1. If I am using 2checkout payment gateway for credit card payment, will my card details get stored and automatically charged next billing cycle ? To avoid getting charged, should I delete the payment info or cancel my VPS before expiry date ?

    2. If my VPS exceeds the monthly bandwidth quota, would I be charged with extra cost or will my VPS network would be shutdown.

    3. Do you offer Debian 9.1 on KVM plans ?

    Thanks,
    Akshay

    • Hi Akshay!

I’m so pleased to hear that you’re interested in our offerings — we look forward to working with you!

Great questions! Regarding credit card payments (via 2checkout), card details would not be stored by either us, nor 2checkout. You would however be able to establish a subscription with 2checkout for issuing recurring payments to us, in which case, they would store your info. Seeing as how you asked about how to avoid being charged automatically, I would just recommend that you do not set up a subscription with 2CO, then you won’t ever be automatically billed.

If you happen to approach your bandwidth allocation for the month, you’ll receive alerts from us. These should provide you with at least some advance notice prior to exhaustion. If or when clients do run out of bandwidth, rather than being charged overages, our system will just automatically suspend your service until the billing cycle resets (then our system automatically makes your server active again). We are super flexible with bandwidth and aim to provide accomodating solutions to any clients that may need more than the amounts we’re including — clients who need more bandwidth just have to contact us and let us know what they need and we’ll provide a compelling solution. If this does at some point happen to you, and you need more bandwidth, feel free to reach out to me and I’ll assist you personally.

Lastly, I just had our engineers add a Debian 9.1 (64-bit) image which will now be available to clients with KVM-based instances — so this will now be available for you to utilize =)

If there are any other questions, or anything I can do to assist you — please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly: jason (at) woothosting (dot) com.

      Thanks again!

After using Woothosting VPS for a month, here’s my month-in review:

Support: 10/10 (Fast and always resolves my issues, I’m really not the most technical person when it comes to initially setting things up, and they were happy to lend a hand)

Uptime: 10/10 (Haven’t had any downtime)

Usability: 10/10 (They provide you with panel access that is easy to navigate)

Value: 10/10 (Great promotional price, and a free month with the promo)

I would recommend this hosting company.

    Hi Jason,

Please provision my bonus free month to my service, ticket #480427. I also have one small query, When I install Debian 9.0 image, why it is showing only 14GB disk space instead of 40GB. I am using Debian 8 now, it has no prob. It shows 40GB correctly. Please check Debian 9.0 image. Thank you for your support :)

    • People who come to this site looking for “low end boxes” should know what to expect. In particularly, these services, sometimes costing ridiculously low $1-$2 a month, assume that you can do 99% of the stuff yourself, and won’t need hand-holding or baby-sitting from the service provider. The thinking is that you are looking for a cheap Linux virtual machine, and that you’d know what to do with it – how to set up DNS, mail servers, HTTP servers, etc. – or have the willingness to climb the steep learning curve. You can’t expect to pay $1 a month and then ask help setting up a domain (“registering” the domain is only part of the story) and complain when it’s not as easy as you thought it would be.

In general in all these cheap services you should expect good *service*, not good *support*. Support should be ok in cases where you have no choice (and you need some experience to know which are these cases…), but these should be rare, and all the rest of the time you get the *service* – the CPU, the memory, the network, etc., and the important thing is that this service needs to work well. And I’m speaking from experience: I’ve seen providers which had very friendly support people, but their basic service sucked (e.g., servers were shared by too many people using too much memory, leading to uncontrollable hangs). So far, in my week of experience with Woothosting, their service does not suck :-)

Great questions and I do apologize for the delay. I’m pleased to hear that you’re interested in our services and that you’re letting us know about your requirements. Unfortunately, for the requested access, our shared hosting packages, such as the one you make mention of, would not be the best fit, as these particular essentials would not be included.

I do apologize for the inconvenience but the most suitable service, of which I would recommend, would be any of our VPS packages — all of which would give you the abilities to have this level of control. While I do know that there may be some reasons you’re interested particularly in the shared hosting offers, do allow me an opportunity to work with you and see if I can offer you an enticing value that you would consider. If this sounds fair to you, please feel free to contact me at jason (at) woothosting (dot) com so that we can discuss.

        • Harsh Kumar:

Well Regarding Jailed SSH access it actually allows shared/reseller users to have SSH access, but “jailing” them in their own home directory, plus you wont be able to run certain commands like wget etc. Hope It helps..

          September 1, 2017 @ 8:37 am | Reply
        • Hi John — my apologies for the delayed reply.

As a provider who caters to a wide audience that utilizes services in very different manners, some of our shared clients require SSH access in order to maintain their sites, accounts, etc. For this, the SSH access option that is provided upon our order form would make sense. Due to the nature of it being a “shared” environment, the “jailing” just places some administrative restrictions that provides client privacy.

For clients who need additional access, via SSH — I would recommend a VPS based plan, as these will, by nature of the virtualization and manner that the service is provisioned, provide you with “full root access” and abilities that jailed SSH access upon a shared account can not.

If there’s anything else I can assist with, please do reach out to me.

I’m a customer of their previous deal (OpenVZ one), and honestly their service really isn’t that good. For whatever reason their TTFB is terrible, their VMs really love swapping the first chance they get, the disk performance is a hit and miss (one time I tested had 10 MB/s write speed lol). Their support had okay response time, but there’s not really much they can do when they oversell their boxes like they do. I will not be renewing.

    • Hi Netaksharee,

I’m very sorry to hear that you’re receiving fraudulent DMCA complaints — I understand this poses quite an inconvenience to you, as well as places you in an unfortunate position with hosting providers.

As a hosting provider, we must adhere to certain guidelines in order to avoid sanctions and impact upon our clients. I understand that you may be concerned about how such activities would get addressed with us — and unfortunately, we must comply with all complaints we receive and address them appropriately, otherwise, we risk losing the safeguards that we’re afforded that allow us to address requests from clients. In short — we’re stuck in the middle and we have to comply with laws and the expectations that we, as a provider, are required to adhere to.

Again, I apologize that you’re receiving fake abuse complaints — unfortunately from a provider perspective, there is no way for the provider to differentiate and therefore all complaints must be addressed. I would recommend finding a way to avoid receiving such complaints — at that time, we would be a good fit for you.

I appreciate your consideration in our services — if there’s anything else I can address or assist with, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly: jason (at) woothosting (dot) com!

  57. Paul Rupp:

@Jason Chung, any reason you guys chose to assign 30 IPv6 addresses instead of a /64? Is it possible to get a /64 range? While I don’t really need the full /64, the primary issue is that RBL/DNSBL bans or other reputation tarnishing actions taken for SPAM or another perceived violation typically ban the entire /64 range, therefore impacting every other customer in the same range. The reputation of my IP allocation is very important to me, and I don’t want them tainted by the actions of other customers. Additionally, I believe the recommended suggestion from most or all the RIR (Regional Internet Registries) is to not issue blocks smaller than /64 to customers and end users.

    Thanks,

    • Hi Paul!

Thanks for reaching out — great question! We are certainly flexible and desiring to work with clients, I certainly understand your justification. For most clients, the amounts we provide are sufficient, and the amount we provide by default, to a certain extent, are designed around parameters from our upstreams (sometimes upstream practices and RIR suggestions don’t see eye-to-eye — but that’s a whole conversation of its own!). In short, please feel free to reach out to me directly (jason (at) woothosting (dot) com) when obtaining services, or when considering them, and I can assist you with your requirements =)

Guys, be aware that Alpharacks is suspending services for not apparent reason (on a quick online search seems im not the only once). Once I complained about the suspended service, they just respond with some nonsense log (normal connections).

For 4 days the service was down and they stop responding.
I opened a pay pal conflict .. and the next day they terminated the service, sent me a email saying the termination was due to not paying ( it was paid until 2018) but they changed the dates…

Not to mentioned that the speed/bandwidth they say they offer is total BS.

I have the screenshots to prove.

For those who will get any of their services… well good luck.

    • Hi Ricardo,

I definitely want to look into this matter, regardless of whether or not it has yet been resolved. There should never be a time where a paid-for service suspends for nonpayment, that would indicate that there is something fundamentally wrong with WHMCS that we’d have to bring to their attention for resolution. I want to make sure that this is addressed to your satisfaction as well, as I assume this has caused you a great deal of trouble.

Own 4 VPSes with them. Have had constant problems, time outs, slow responses and down time on all 4. Made several support tickets about it and get little information in return.

My Ip was blocked out of m VPSes by their node and it took me hours of back and forward to get the customer service rep to understand that I just needed to be unblocked from their system and kept getting the same reply to most of my tickets of “Hi, It was working fine now.” to which I would reply with “the service is up but I cannot access through SSH because your node is blocking my IP , I can only access using a VPN” to which I would receive them same reply…

3 of my VPSes have only a Sentora control panel installed and they are extremely slow and unresponsive with using a minuscule amount of my allocated resources…

So while their support is average to good in response time it lacks in the knowledge department

I put in for 3 of my VPSes to be canceled yesterday.

It Would be a great service if they fixed these issues.

  64. I got one of the “New York Launch” special offers ($18 for a VPS with 150 GB of disk space), and so far I’m very happy.

I’ve used several other VPS providers before, and in the last year have been an unhappy customer of Alpharacks, where I got a VPS with miserable performance which persisted over a the whole year: I’ve gotten used to trivial operations (like ssh, ls, or trivial HTTP requests) often being delayed by 30 seconds, apparently because of server overselling, and to administrators not being able to solve these problems. Happily, it seems that none of this nonsense happens on Woot. My VPS simply works, with reasonable performance (I never expected stellar performance for this price, this is a very low load VPS). And the service is also cheaper than Alpharacks. So so far, I’m very happy :-)

    September 7, 2017 @ 3:52 am | Reply
    • After a week with this VPS, I’m still very happy :-) The performance of this VPS is exactly as I wanted (not a supercomputer, but also no serious problems like multi-second hangs I saw in my previous provider), the New York datacenter has excellent round trip times to where I’m located, and I’m getting a lot of storage which is exactly what I needed for this VPS (recently VPS providers started to gravitate towards faster but more expensive SSDs, I’m happy that some left the option of a large cheap storage).

I signed up for the $6/year service in the New York datacenter.
Web hosting seemed mostly fine, although there have been a few outages (both unannounced and announced).
The problem is using them for email. Outgoing emails are often rejected and/or marked as spam.
Cases were closed without resolution. Despite filing multiple support cases, this issue was never resolved. Support didn’t follow up to see if problem was resolved. They would say “wait 48 hours” but close the case after 24hours.
    Emails to Jason@woothosting went unanswered.
It was only $6 so no huge loss, but I could have done without the frustration.

First and foremost, I appreciate you reaching out and providing your candid feedback about our services and your experience. Additionally, I would also like to apologize for any delay in response, while I do get quite a number of direct emails, I do get to each and every one of them, but in the event that we have not yet corresponded, I want to make sure that we do, and if still allowed the chance, I’d like to do what I can to resolve any matters that are still pending.

It says “Advanced DDoS Protection Included” for the shared hosting plan. But when i clicked on the link and explored the woot hosting website a little bit. what I saw was that only the dedicated server promos have “Advanced DDoS Protection Included” listed as a feature but not for the shared hosting promos. Is this a mistake? Looking at the comments so far, it appears that there is a mix of positive and negative experiences, so I’m thinking of trying out the $1/year offer and upgrade to $6/year should I find the service satisfactory. Can this be done?

    October 9, 2017 @ 12:28 am | Reply
    • Hi wuqi,

Thank you for reaching out for clarification! To clarify, each and every one of our services include DDoS Protection, because simply stated, all of our various services run upon a protected network. The trickle down effect therefore provides protection to all services we offer, and all clients. I do apologize for any confusion and I will be providing your feedback to our team here so that we can make what I believe are necessary updates that will assist in clarifying the value being provided.

Yes! Regarding the possibility of upgrading packages later, this is certainly possible. You can start with the $1/year offer and upgrade to the $6/year (or any other package) at any time and pay just the difference.

Please do let me know if there are any other questions that I may assist you with — we greatly appreciate your time and look forward to working with you! I can be reached directly at jason (at) woothosting (dot) com.

      Thank you!

Well I for one can speak for WootHosting’s quality, while I have only used them for a month (NY location) I am pretty happy so far. I think a lot of people’s expectations here are not aligned with reality. Remember this is not a managed service & support, if you want hand holding you need to go with a provider like Hostdime or Knownhost, and pay the premium for it.

For being an unmanaged VPS I think this offer is unbeatable.

Jason, you guys should consider expanding to The Lone State state :)

    • Hi Carl!

I want to thank you for providing your experience to the community — also, we greatly appreciate your business. We’re currently running polling for our next expansion spot and have been receiving quite a number of requests for Dallas, so you’ll be glad to know — that is one of the top contenders =)

While our services (for the most part) are unmanaged, we do provide unlimited best-effort, free of charge support to all clients alike — but I am very pleased to hear that you’re satisfied with the value that you’re receiving! We’ll be announcing our upcoming expansion plans shortly, but if in the meantime there’s ever anything I can assist you with — please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email — jason (at) woothosting (dot) com.

Some notes on commenting on LowEndBox:

  • Do not use LowEndBox for support issues. Go to your hosting provider and issue a ticket there. Coming here saying "my VPS is down, what do I do?!" will only have your comments removed.
