It’s time to say hello once more to Alexander and his company HostUS! He has got two offers for us this time around and they give you more bang-for-buck compared to last time. HostUS was started in 2012 and has been shared, reseller and VPS hosting ever since. They are a registered company in Scotland, UK, as HostUS Solutions Limited. These offers are located in 55 Marietta, Atlanta, Georgia. The host nodes run Dual Xeon L5639 CPUs, 72 GB DDR3 RAM 4 x 1 or 2 TB Hard Drives in RAID10 backed up by a LSI 9260-4i RAID Card with BBU! They own their own IPs (AS25926) and IP SWIP is possible. I’ve looked up some reviews and found these two positive reviews: Review #1 and Review #2. Feel free to share your experiences with HostUS here in the comments or at LowEndTalk.

In you website, the offer is
LEB Offers – OVZ Special 1 (3GB RAM)
3GB RAM
3GB vSwap
Which one is correct? 6GB or 3GB?
Hi John, If you pay $18/quarter the VPS is 6GB/6GB.
Hello
will I be able to prolong offer after first quarter? Will the price be the same (18$)?
Thanks for the offer
I think there is a mistake. 6GB offer is 3GB as written on the Order page.
Hi Alan, If you pay $18/quarter it’s 6GB/6GB RAM. The monthly pricing ($7/m) is 3GB/3GB.
May i know what is the average load allowed? Because there seems to be other providers who say 4 core but still only allow a load of below 1.0 when theoreticaly it could go up to 3.0 without problems.
Answered in ticket, there is no set maximum loads, it’s all fair-share as long as this policy is not abused.
Nice offer.
Do you provide cPanel license for VPS? How much?
Hi, cPanel for VPS is an extra $13/m
what about upgrading the disk space and permitting monthly payment?
Disk upgrades are possible, please submit a ticket with how much disk required.
Monthly payments are possible but it’s $7/month for 3GB/3GB.
Alexander
Torrents allowed?
If they are legal then yes.
I realize MC servers are not allowed as per ToS, but if it’s a small 4-person server, is that OK? The load doesn’t seem to go above 1 for reference
Hi, Pleased submit a ticket. Thanks!
Is public IRC server allowed? I have an IRC network called nationchat.org?
Thanks,
Usman
Hi Usman,
Yes, as long as you don’t attract inbound DDoS attacks.
Your ToS precludes various email-related functionality — what about acting as a mail client on behalf of my users? My app checks mail using Imap.
My I use for mining @ litecoin?
No
mining any kind of coin is pointless without dedicated hardware or a decent GPU
may i use for mining litecoin?
No
May i use for Red5 Streaming Server ?
Hi, As long as your disk I/O usage is low you should be OK.
Made a benchmark on the VPS 1GB.
does cpu based systems like video processing allowed ?
No
If I order for $18/quarter, Can I renew it for the same price after 3 months?
Hello, yes the price stays the same when you renew.
Awesome!
Just got one, and I have to say, I love it so far

Awesome I/O! Tempted to switch
I just spent the last 24 hours setting up servers on their service and I couldn’t be happier ! The support was pretty fantastic before I even purchased anything. Post sales support was just as awesome and the 2 gentlemen I dealt with (Alexander and Andrew) were so pleasant and helpful to work with.
They even made recommendations for monitoring my sites and servers when I was worried about load average.
Their service is the main reason I decided to try them out and now I’m thanking my stars that I did. Now I’m consolidating all my servers on their platform. They’ve pretty much got me for life if this is how they treat their customers !
Thanks for your kind comments Kiba :) We’re glad you’re happy!

Glad you’re happy :)

Is there an option to pay yearly for the 6GB; if so, how much?

Glad you’re happy Robert :)
Alexander
Would you able to install Ubuntu 10.04? I have a application specific requirement.
Yes !
Just ordered. Hope setup will be done soon! Thanks!
I think i will Buy this i really have a great Plan for VPS hosting but i need to ask this? can i pay for a quarter and latter switch to Annual Payment after am ready?
Hi Joshua,
Yes, thats no problem at all.
Alexander
Can I setup a VPN server on VPS? I don’t see any option to add TUN/TAP or PPP module on the shopping cart.
Yes, there is an option in the control panel.
Alexander
Thanks for the info.
Also, please confirm if you accept payments through debit cards. I will be purchasing a VPS in next 2-3 days however, I can pay by debit card only so I need to confirm if this is possible.
Correct – that is possible.
If I try the service for one quarter, can I renew the same service for a year for 65usd?
Hi Noe,
Yes that’s fine.
Alexander
1st You suspended my account for non reason and my vps account is shutting down for long 2 days and you created again.
Now you terminate my product without any notice?
Do you think this is good play and professional way?
BE FAIR!
You submitted a cancelation request, that’s why your vps was terminated. You created the request, not us. No need to act like a child for your own actions.
its been an hour, I signed up for the $18 quarterly service, still havent get my server details
I read in their announcement, they want to migrate to GA server, I hope they are not scam and fraud
Some orders are held for manual review.
is it possible to upgrade from 1GB offer to 6 GB offer?
Yes, please submit a ticket.
Cheers,
Alexander
Is my.hostus.us down? Cannot access it, browser get’s timed out.
Oh by the way, anyone looking for a VPS, hostus.us is the way to go, I migrated my blog, mail server, VPN server etc. etc. to one of their servers (with 6GB)and I must say, I cannot be happier.
their website is down, I guess they were scam, I expect LEB admin don’t simply accept to advertise these kind of rookie hosters without further investigations
That’s not the case, it appears someone jealous or annoyed decided to DDoS their whole net.
http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/32279/hostus-down#latest
Correct, we have had 40Gbps+ DDoS Attacks today and yesterday, only 10-30 minutes down time in total for vps nodes.
Dude. Their VPS at A+ grade. Please dont jump to conclusion. I have 2 VPSes with them. Going for a 3rd now and renewing another.
Yes, this is a sensible approach to take on all things. It is not available so it must be a scam; because only scams suffer technical issues.
Facebook.com was down temporarily a few weeks ago. Therefore, Facebook must be a scam.
I am with hostus.us from last 3 months and they are great, support is always at your doorstep. can’t ask for more…
Thank you sir :)
This company is absolute garbage: I made a ticket about internet speed being terrible, proved multiple ways that its terribly slow, and they just decline my problem. They keep saying the internet is fine, blah blah.. take a look yourself you tell me what you think. This is speedtest.net ran from the box using a python script thats available online.
http://www.speedtest.net/result/3804658736.png
Supposedly the server is in Atlanta and has a 10GB uplink… however my results dont even say hostUS as the provider, and Kansas certainly isnt Atlanta. My home internet performs better than this garbage.
You are supposed to choose an Atlanta location. Not Kansas.
And, as always, speedtest.net results are not accurate.
you dont even offer servers in kansas, lol.. your website says dallas and atlanta.. how would i possibly choose a server in kansas
regardless of which server you choose to get your speedtest from, it still tells your where YOU are located in relation to the test server, and what the host ISP is, which the host ISP was always blank, and the location was in KANSAS!! stop lying.
Guess you are a bit confused here. Speedtest.net relys on MaxMind’s IP GeoLocation data, and it takes *ages* to be updated (yes, I mean up to 3 months). If the IP is not in their database, the ISP will (of course) be blank and the location will be right in the middle of USA (Lebanon, Kansas to be exact).
That’s why I would never use a GeoIP database to determine the server location. My France Server’s IP once got geolocated to Switzerland.
We have new ARIN IP Allocations, IP Geolocation is not set, using a server is Kansas will not provide good results.
Also, I’ve been using HostUS for quite a while now and I can’t complain. If you want, I can even run a speedtest for you.
Do you support Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit?
Hi,
I trying to pay for the invoice for my VPS. Is there any other way the company accepts payment other than paypal.
REgards..
ROHIT
I use HostUs for about 6 months now.
All tickets are answered very fast. I’m very satisfied.
As the guy above, I also can confirm that the customer support is terrible.
I would not be being honest if I say that I cannot recommend Hostodo.
Overall VPS’s performance and the link throughput are good. But, I just not recommend for any production service, because when you need support, You will need to be VERY VERY patient.
I’ve posted on wrong page. Can You please delete this comment? I’ve alread posted on the Right (hostodo) page
That is really attention-grabbing, You are an overly rofessional blogger.
I have joined your rss feed and look fotward to in search of more
of your fantastic post. Additionally, I’ve shared your web site in my social networks
who and where? o.0
I got three VPS with them and i think they taking away my free IPv4 now i cannot claim anymore IP4 from them…
Err…
I general, I’ve been really happy, even most likely purchasing a second VPS today. Unfortunately, there was a fairly significant outage (6+ hours) at the Atlanta Data Center. During this time, very little information was provided other than, “We are currently investigating a major network issue in Atlanta, we are working with our network provider to restore our full network as soon as possible. Updates will follow in emails sent to all Atlanta customers.”
No updates other than the above were provided throughout the entire outage, and at no point was an ETA for restoral of services given. Additionally, after the outage, I received this email message: “Full email will be sent with further details and RFO, plus details of service credits etc.” No full email was ever sent with further details and RFO, however.
A week or two later while enquiring about a different issue, I was given 3-days credit for the outage, but never did see any explanation of what happened to cause the outage, or how HostUS was going to prevent it from happening in the future.
While this sounds like an overly negative review, and the outage was quite substantive, I’ll repeat that I’ve been satisfied enough to be seriously considering purchasing another VPS from HostUS.
Being down for more than 3 hours and no reply for ticket from technical support.
cloud provider in 72 hours.
