LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

RAM Host - $2.99 64MB OpenVZ VPS

RAM Host Thanks to Alex for spotting this new plan from RAM Host. The price is — $2.99/month! You do have to pay quarterly though, but it still seems to be pretty cheap for a low end box. The specification is quite basic as well:

  • 64MB guaranteed/96MB burstable memory
  • 10GB storage
  • 50GB/month data transfer
  • OpenVZ + In house customised panel

Again, the servers are in Kansas City, MO. They have also opened the server status page up to the public, so you can get to see what their servers have been up to. So far I can see 5 servers hosting VPS users, and when you drill down to the “Details” page, you’ll see them as 4GB RAM dual core machines (i.e. very lowend in today’s VPS physical node standard). I guess that also means they do not need to put in too many clients on a box.

It’s also on this WHT offer page.

  2. This is a great site you have here (thanks for the traffic :)

We run low-end host nodes on purpose since we find it makes performance more predictable – no more than about 10 on a single box (varies with plan level of course) – it’s also great for things like disk i/o which are very difficult to regulate….ha now I’m rambling…

By the way, we don’t own http://www.ramhost.com – if you would be kind enough to fix your broken link – http://www.ramhost.us or http://www.ram-host.com ;)

In my addiction for low end boxes, I also signed up for this VPS and was setup within 30 minutes.

Everything seems fine with it so far with the VPS, the only thing I have to complain about is that
entry level VPSes have been coming out with 128MB and 256MB plans in this price range (or just a few dollars more),
so 64MB seems a little small.

  5. The price $2.99/m is very attractive. The lowest price in the market. They also provide console access in case you reload your OS/knock yourself out by wrong ssh config, etc. The control panel is ugly, but it does work.

    Enjoy :)

This VPS provider is impressive. My vps has been up almost 2 weeks now and it is lightning fast. I have
several other lowend VPSes and this one by far is the zippiest.

Thanks for bumping it up to 80MB of Ram, i’m sure that will come in handy!

It seems like you guys are a lot less oversold than these other providers, so I can see
why you cant afford to give out as much RAM as some of these other guys.

  8. I have nothing but HIGH praise for Ram-Host. I think so much of them I have 6 VPS Standard accounts. Their Tier1 bandwidth really makes things fly.

I have never had a problem getting support within a timely manner – and you can’t beat their price/feature.

I had done some extensive speed testing with 5 other webhosts comparing VPS and non-VPS servers and Ram-Host beat them all hands down!

I agree. RAM Host are an excellent provider, and support is top notch. I’ve referred friends to them, and they agree with me.

Great performance, great support and excellent uptime.

  11. They sure take a long time to setup. 5 days and still no mail from them regarding setup. Raised ticket. Lets see what happens.

    • You ordered 2 days ago, not 5 days ago. There is no need to exaggerate and make false claims against us.

Setup time is, as clearly stated on our website, within 3 business days. This 3 day setup time is due to us currently operating taking a very limited amount of new orders at this time while we replace and upgrade our aging infrastructure to handle more clients.

Many orders will be processed faster, but some orders will take close to the full 3 day wait time while a vps slot becomes available for you.

      • I apologize, it was actually close to 3 days not 5 days. I ordered on Sunday and it was setup on Wednesday(IST) (and I somehow thought I ordered on Sat and counted 5 instead of close to exact 3 days of setup). Intention was not to make false claim – on the contrary I ordered because I had heard good things about RamHost.

I agree that posting something inaccurate on public forums is not good.
