LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

GarmanOnline - $4.5 128MB OpenVZ VPS

GarmanOnline Patrick from GarmanOnline emailed me about their VPS service. Via this WHT offer he is also giving 10% recurring discount using promo code 10WHT2010 so $4.50/month for the following package “VPS2”.

  • 128MB guaranteed/256MB burstable memory
  • 5GB storage
  • 50GB/month data transfer
  • OpenVZ

GarmanOnline is hosted with DimeNOC in Orlando FL. Domain has been onlince since 2008, and all name servers, although appear to be of different hosts, seem to be on the same class C so not much redundancy. Patrick is a “self-taught web designer” showing Mercedes Benz as his past client. Well the portfolio page wasn’t there when I clicked on it yesterday and the link has already been removed.

There is also a cheaper $3.15/month package with 64MB/128MB of memory.

  1. Would just like to note that the portfolio link was removed while I design a separate site for my personal portfolio. If you would like I can shoot over a link once I have that site ready. :)

Hi, Benz guy, does it takes about 1/4h to set up your plan?

  4. No SSL on WHMCS… don’t feel sending personal info over plain text. VPS3 (512MB) plan have no burstable RAM while every other plans has it, probably a typo? Overall, good prices though.

Patrick, are the physical servers running under RAID? If so, what topology?

  5. SSL really isn’t that important imo. It adds extra protection if your on an pen wifi network or mobile dongle but otherwise doesn’t really do anything.

@PG I’m hesitating between your plan and RackVM ones, any argument for a future new customer?

  8. IMHO SSL is important. I think it’s just a good practice if you intend to sell anything online to shoot toward for PCI compliance. To each its own. :)

An SSL certificate is $10/year. There’s really no good reason not to have one… or more.

  10. Thanks for noticing the typo! The plan in Solus and WHMCS did have 1GB burst but the page had it listed as 512. Kind of put SSL for WHMCS on the back burner when I left PayPal as the only payment option, address and other personal info completely left my mind. We will get SSL setup for the members area ASAP!

  11. @AntiPop3 – Not sure if I understand you, I extended the $10/review to give an incentive for customers to tell others of their experience. I don’t want lies, or people posting without being customers, I would just like future customers to have some sort of background to look at.

@terii – Oops, forgot to tell you about our RAID. RAID 10!

@Goldstein – if you are referring to setup time after the order has been placed… its set to immediately setup after payment is received. in past orders it has taken a few minutes for the email with server details to be delivered.

@Lapagaud – One thing you should look at is where you want your server to be located, if you are closer to France then RackVM may be your better bet if that is important. The nodes VPSs are going onto right now are in Baltimore, MD. I can tell you that your customer service will be top notch, I cannot guarantee the fastest turn around time but the service you get cannot be beat. Besides servers/websites that is what I know best. If you have any specific questions or comments feel free to open up a live chat, will be available all day!

  12. Also FYI…

10WHT2010 is available for use on ALL VPS packages. This is on top of standard pricing where you get a month knocked off the price for every 5 months paid for in advance. Total discount if you pay in advance is ~25% off with the promo code. The code will be available for use all the way up to the end of the year :)
