Adam from BuffaloVPS emailed me their Black Friday sale promo codes for their “Standard” and “Professional” OpenVZ plans.
- Standard
- 512MB memory
- 20GB storage
- 1000GB/month data transfer
- $5/month (Promo code: bfstan, Direct Signup Link)
- Professional
- 1024MB memory
- 30GB storage
- 1500GB/month data transfer
- $6/month (Promo code: bfpro, Direct Signup Link)
They take PayPal only, and have their servers with ColoCrossing in Chicago IL. Interestingly that Adam started as a reseller of ChicagoVPS to get used to everything, and 8 months later we still haven’t seen VPS ready for Buffalo. Still on the card, @Chris & @Adam? BuffaloVPS do have stable servers and quick support, being on ChicagoVPS/ColoCrossing’s infrastructure.

LEA,
Exciting news, we were holding out to make it a surprise but the datacenter is ready. Chris and ChicagoVPS will also be offering Buffalo I think. BuffaloVPS will be launching a special sale for New Years :) So keep an eye out!
Thanks,
Adam
Hey Guys,
Remember, this deal was posted a hair trigger early. This deal is official starting on 11/25 but I may let it start on 11/24 after dinner here in the states as that is when everyone else is getting their Black Friday gig’s going.
And to confirm what Adam is talking about. We finished up our negotiations and working on populating the data center with the best stuff for BuffaloVPS. Have some testing shortly and then we should be live by the beginning of the year. We may even have Atom servers available in the buffalo datacenter only for a good price ;). I’d keep the eyes open on this one. May be big.
Jeremiah
Interesting. Sorry if it was posted “too early” — there’s no Black Friday/Cyber Monday where I am so timing was a bit mixed up :)
LEA,
It is fine. We are perfectly fine with it, we are coping. :)
Thanks for your fine service.
Jeremiah
Hello,
Orders are being installed now, I have decided we have room until the new node shows up in a few days.
Thanks,
Adam
Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo C:
ADAM ! can you please add a CentOS 6 x86 Operating System Template to the order form. i noticed you only have CentOS 5 X .
i know that ChicagoVPS has a CentOS 6 X86 on the website so if you have the same system does BuffaloVPS uses an old template of ChicagoVPS order form ?
i’m waiting to make an order for Professional plan for $6 .
Thanks,
Tommy
Tommy,
We have CentOS 6 uploaded on Solus. Just choose a template on order form and when you get details reinstall the VPS through Solus. I will try and get the order form updated tonight :)
Thanks,
Adam
Thank You Adam ! (i’m happy you also have CentOS 6 installed in Solus).
i am waiting to order later today when you open this Black Friday Promo to the Public.
Thanks,
Tommy
Tommy,
You can order now. It was released early since it was posted early. We didn’t want people to try and order and have it not work. Not worth the hassle.
Thanks,
Adam
Can you accept alertpay?
Hello,
No only PayPal.
Thanks,
Adam
Adam, please fix the order form. for some reason it shows the regular price of $14.95 without discount.
i tried this link : https://billing.buffalovps.com/cart.php?a=add&pid=13&promocode=bfpro
it gives :
Order Summary
OpenVZ VPS – Professional
Professional $14.95 USD
Β» Operating System: CentOS 5 x86 $0.00 USD
Setup Fees: $0.00 USD
Monthly: $14.95 USD
Total Due Today: $14.95 USD
maybe the link is wrong, and if it is you have to also update Lowendbox Admin .
Thanks,
Tommy
All you need to do is clicking on “Checkout” to come to the page when you actually need to pay something — then you’ll see the final price at $6/month.
Thank you LowEndAdmin ,as you wrote i pressed on “Checkout” and it worked with $6/Month Price.
and Thanks you Adam for this great Black Friday Promo. i ordered and paid and got the activation in about 1 minute and the VPS was online and working great ! thank you all !
Tommy
Hi,
I had submitted the order but unable to get the 6/month promo work.
Domain Registration: Transfer
Domain:
First Payment Amount: $12.25 USD
Recurring Amount: $12.25 USD
Registration Period: 1 Year/s
Total Due Today: $164.74 USD
hmm, i think i knew why now. i’m placing a wrong order.
i submitted xen vps instead of openvz vps. can you cancel my first order?
i’ll submit a new order
Hi,
Is it too late?
I’ve dove the check out but i have this message “The promotion code you entered has been applied to your cart but no items qualify for the discount yet – please check the promotion terms”
Thanks
Bob,
The promotion is still working, make sure it is month to month term and not a prepay.
Thanks,
Adam
Just ordered a pro. How long does setup take?
What’s the relationship, if any, between ChicagoVPS and BuffaloVPS?
Hello,
We used to resell for them, then got big enough to move to our own nodes. We are still in the same facility and work very close with each other.
Thanks,
Adam
Hi Adam, how long setup time for new order? There’s no update at my order number 9743809553 since few hours ago. I send ticket to sales, but no respond. Can you take a look it, please? Thanks :)
Does this Price also include cpanel/whm?
Are you kidding?
No! Bcoz when i choose centos with cpanel/whm the cost doesn’t change and even though I can order with that amount it was hard for me to believe either which is the reason WHY I didn’t order in the first place! & u don’t have to be a sarcastic jerk, jerk!
Iβm sure thereβs no add-on at order form. I made order few hours ago. Maybe what you think cPanel is an OS image Centos with cPanel. And Iβm not sarcastic like you did.
I’m sure there’s no add-on at order form. I made order few hours ago. Maybe what you think cPanel is an OS image Centos with cPanel. And I’m not sarcastic like you did.
Could you please explain what this means
CentOS 5 x86_64 w/ cPanel/WHM $0.00 USD ?
Does this mean I still have to pay for the cpanel license ?
Of course. It’s only OS with pre-installed cPanel, but not the license. You need to buy cPanel license to use it.
Of course. You are choosing a drop down of available OS Templates.
Thanks,
Jeremiah
apparently the discount is no longer working :( but there is no detail about cpanel licensing fee either. I guess its too late!
The offer is still valid! After click on “Checkout” button, you will see the discounted price applied. Have fun!
Hello. Is it possible to run a Terraria server off of the $14.95 Professional OpenVZ/Xen servers? If so, I would love to do bussiness with you.
Hello,
Yes this is possible as we do also.
Regards,
Chris
What, if any, VPS can I use to run a Minecraft server with this company?
Esko,
Any will do, depends on how many people you want to connect to it.
Regards,
Chris
Is der any1 who is with buffalo, i mean for their Service, Reliablity, Support, response time, etc
And how much will WHM/Cpanel will cost me around….
How many vCPUs? Anyone care to provide /proc/cpuinfo?
http://pastebin.com/hNWS7E8E
There’s a cat /proc/cpuinfo from the one I just ordered earlier today.
Thanks for the info. Another question. If I sign up and chose an existing domain that I have. What do I put it for ns1/ns2 prefix? I’ve updated nameserver records in godaddy (domains registrar) to ns1/ns2.buffalovps.com
Put anything what you want. Is part of the billing system template, but is unused :P
Does BuffaloVPS host DNS records?
I set ns1/ns2.buffalovps.com as nameservers for my domain.
But that does not work.
What am I missing?
Will you host Opensim servers on the discounted Professional accounts?
Is the provider down?
I have two VPS with them and none respond.
Even their homepage is down.
Whats going on?
there was a brief (~10 minute) outage at Chicago VPS’ upstream provider today – I assume thats what caused your outage.
I have order a Proffesional Vps in BuffaloVps some ours ago. I’ve received Welcome mail, onvice and receipt, but nothing about Ip, Dns, etc. I can log in but don’t see Virtual servers. Posted ticket #827965 but do not have any response.
May setup process be to slow (3 hours and half at least) ? Or may I miss something in setup process ?
Thank you !
Rodo,
it is normal for this wait with the holidays on us. We are short staffed like nearly every other corporation. You will be setup shortly.
Thanks,
Jeremiah
chi-vps13 has issues…
still waiting for a reply… been over 2 hours already…
still ongoing
still ongoing…
Mike,
This is our fault and not bvps. Its one of the older nodes and some BuffaloVPS customers were still on it.
We are almost done with the fix.

Chris

Mike,
You will be up tonight, the data transfer is taking along time.
regards,
Chris
chris,
it isn’t a matter of time. it isn’t a matter of when or what or whoor how. it’s a matter of what you do. as stated in the tickets i posted…… ANY news is better than NO news… you feel me brah?
btw, she’s still offline….
[dioz@bob3 ~]$ ssh -l console-nEBz2n 206.217.133.74 -p 4022
ssh: connect to host 206.217.133.74 port 4022: Connection refused
Mike,
I dont know what you expect. It will come up when everything is fixed. No sense in wasting your time posting here.
Go out, grab a drink.
Regards,
Chris
k, sorry to bother you
btw… it’s still down
[dioz@bob3 ~]$ ssh -l console-nEBz2n 206.217.133.74 -p 4022
ssh: connect to host 206.217.133.74 port 4022: Operation timed out
still down and still haven’t been provided with any ticket updates. seems they’ve stopped responding to trouble tickets.
Hello,
Chris has explained the situation to you multiple times here, what else do you need?
Thanks,
Adam

The update is that you will be up tonight.
Regards,
Chris
