LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

$1 VPS – 1 USD VPS Per Month (Updated September 2024)

Dollar VPSWe recently featured hosting providers who offer cheap VPS under $2 USD per month — the providers mentioned in our $2 USD VPS post were providers who offered VPS for $2/month or under $24/year! Amazing value if you really think about it.

We’ve decided to challenge ourselves, so we were thinking about those who are searching for $1 USD VPS without having to prepay! We knew this post would be tougher, so we’ve challenged ourselves and searched both of our communities LowEndBox and LowEndTalk for these particular offers.

Providers we’ve found who were most recently featured on LowEndBox or our LowEndTalk members who recently advertised VPS at $1/Month in our offers section who offer $1 USD VPS per Month (no more than $1.99 per month).

We know searching for a reliable, ultra-cheap $1 USD VPS is tough so we’ve compiled providers who have been able to offer these cheap VPS.

If you decide to purchase a $1 VPS please be sure to leave your experience in the comments below.

  1. Due to the fact that Ftpit is no match with VPSSlim /Ram and disc size/, other two “offers” goes to unknown pages and I am not willing to dig deeper into this, it really looks like a clickbait or hidden promo of VPSSlim….

        • Hi Eddy! Thank you so much for expressing interest in our services. While that particular plan does not have IPv6 available, we can always discuss which plans do. And for example, if you were to order this one to start, then in the future wish to upgrade to a plan that does we can pro-rate invoice you the difference for a plan that does.

We sincerely appreciate your interest and hope that we can do business together.

Hi, I bought the 10.86$ one, it shows 2.93TB capacity, what happens after it? Sorry if new question. And if I wanted to buy 4-5 vps, how does that work, will it show in same control panel? Thanks!

            • Hello, that is a good question! And thank you for signing up with RackNerd, we sincerely appreciate the business!

As you expand your services with us, the additional VPS will be associated to your existing control panel, making it easy to manage your VMs with RackNerd.

Lastly, regarding bandwidth, should you approach the allotment we’ll actually email you in advance advising you that you’re approaching your allotment, this way you can upgrade if desired. Otherwise, the VPS would automatically be suspended until the bandwidth resets. The bandwidth resets monthly, every first of the month.

We hope to see you expanding with RackNerd!

    November 18, 2020 @ 2:59 pm | Reply
    • Hi Carl, if you choose to pay via Credit Card as an example, you wouldn’t see any additional fees added, i.e VAT, GST.

If you choose to pay using PayPal, our payment processor does collect, file, and remit on our behalf.

Customers in some locations can enter their VAT ID or GST ID during the checkout process if they are exempt from payment of the tax. With a valid ID, tax will not be collected.

If a customer forgets or is unable to enter a VAT ID or GST ID at the time of the purchase, they can submit a copy of their valid VAT ID or GST ID at https://questionacharge.com along with their order reference/order ID within 30 days of the purchase. Our processor will issue a credit to the original payment method.

Can you explain the difference between PURE SSD RAID-10 and SSD CACHED RAID-10?

    January 10, 2021 @ 10:55 pm | Reply
    • Hi Ghanwar,

With a SSD cached set up, it is powered by a mix of Enterprise SATA HDD’s, and a premium LSI RAID Controller w/ SSD caching. This provides better performance (more than enough for most real-world use cases) compared to a set up with just HDD’s, but needless to say, a Pure SSD set up would still be faster than an SSD cached setup.

In Los Angeles, our VPS nodes are running on SSD cached infrastructure, while our other VPS locations are on pure SSD’s. We also have NVMe and Ryzen offerings available in Los Angeles. If you’re looking to host an application that requires x resources, we can help! Just get in touch sales@racknerd.com

      Thank You!

        Hello, Mr. Dustin.

Currently my VPS is in the Racknerd data center in Los Angeles, I want to move to a data center that uses Pure SSD (not SSD Cache) and my location is in Indonesia. Which data center is suitable and do you recommend for me?

        March 5, 2021 @ 4:43 am | Reply
        • Hello @Ghanwar, all of our locations are pure SSD or NVMe with the exception of Los Angeles being SSD Cached. Though in Los Angeles, we do also offer pure NVMe VPS based on our Ryzen product line.

We’re also working on implementing pure SSD nodes going forward in Los Angeles.

Lastly, if you’re looking for an alternative to Los Angeles, but pure SSD, try our San Jose location :) You’ll be happy.

        Hello
For me, the experience started with RackNerd as an amazing one. Great deal, quick service, very good performances with my vps, therefore, I decided to move their my nodes for a great crypto project (presearch as a search engine). It then quickly turned into a very disappointing experience. For no reason their service asked me to either disclose complete ( I mean ALL) id data and bank account or I would get banned. Other option was to pay them in crypto to keep my servers running but I don’t get it, as it would mean be 100% anonymous. So why accepting payments in crypto & stay anonymous or asking for full disclosure???
We had a weekend planned with the family, I wrote them telling I was willing to give my data once but back home, but they just disconnected my nodes with no information and refunded me. What the hell is that? I would rather have my vps up & running with them as the performance is good, but is this a way to treat a new customer? I had set up 9 vps and wanted to do more. What can you do now?

        May 23, 2021 @ 5:19 pm | Reply
        • Hi Johan — really happy to hear that your experience with RackNerd has been great.

I do see that you mentioned a slight hiccup in service with our risk department. Trust me, I’ve been in your situation – whereby I’ve purchased something (especially something I’ve personally been eager to obtain) and then suddenly have to deal with a risk team regarding verification. This can be frustrating, along with inconveniences.

At RackNerd, rarely, an account is suspended. This happens when information doesn’t match. Some examples include: an order placed on a VPN, third-party payment processors indicating elevated risk or discrepancies.

Thus for your protection and ours we initiate a conversation and at times suspend service until an account is verified. I’m not entirely sure what exactly caused your account to be flagged, I do want to make myself available to help, just email dustin@racknerd.com

I have had a pretty good experience with Racknerd, for 10 bucks a year for a full VPS it performs better than my $6/month VPS elsewhere. I shamefully had to request support from them before (for an issue that I later realized was actually my own fault – doh!), and I feel bad since I don’t pay much but they still were fast to respond to me and give me a hand, which is appreciated. I hope that they can keep up the good work.

I was initially sceptical of using ultra cheap VPS that costs under USD 1 per month. Finally, i went for the USD 10.98 per ear LEB special from Racknerd (NY location, 3 TB per month, 1GB, 1 vCPU). The experience has been nothing short of fantastic. The Racknerd service desk tickets are usually responded within a few minutes, for example, to set the reverse PTR address. Only two minor points as (1) IPv6 is available only in LA not NY and (2) There is no backup/snapshot facility in the control panel. For this price, I was not expecting those.

  32. Hello, my question is the following:
    What does LEB SPECIAL mean?

    September 9, 2021 @ 8:32 pm | Reply
    • Hi @Sandro – LEB SPECIAL simply is a term/product name of the promotion. It’s an abbreviation of the community name “LowEndBox”.

      I hope this helps!

Like others I was sceptical about the Racknerd offer: 1$ vps seems to be an unsustainable business model. However, I have to say I am very pleased by my purchase. No technical issues after 5 months, I had a question about the payment and the support answered within one hour (frankly for this price if it had taken a whole day it would have been ok)
So… thanks for these ultra-cheap boxes Racknerd. Wish you success.

I googled for one dollar vps and thanks to finding your article I signed up to racknerd. I’m quite satisfied with them. Support is very responsive. Really nothing to complain at ONE usd per month. Offers Almalinux, Debian, Ubuntu and a few others.

You have complete control over the vm including VNC except unable to mount your own iso as cdrom so if you want other distros or even Windows you would have to somehow automate the installation on reboot (shrink the fs, download your bootstrap, prey)

I am thinking about getting the Cloud Server VPS. (2nd one) because it offers a bit more storage for the price compared to RackNerd. I see everyone vouching for RackNerd but no one for CloudServer so I am a bit skeptical. On top of that, I want to run docker and I don’t know if docker will work on CloudServer or not. I have emailed them but I did not get a response.

Wow better specs on ram and storage for CloudServer! At the time I had to make the choice, Racknerd was the best option.

I hope Racknerd will step up their specs to match CS. Honestly if I had to choose now, obviously CS does look more attractive!

I went with Racknerd for two years paid in advance since I dislike monthly bills and subscriptions, so I will be stuck at 768Mb ram and 12GB disk for quite a while. But maybe for fun I’d try one month of CS too.

No go for HudsonValleyHost for me. Their purchase form was missing the Captcha, meaning I cannot complete my purchase with them. While their support was initially responsive, after transferring the ticket over to Billing, I was left hanging for ONE WHOLE WEEK. I tried to follow-up multiple times (once every two days), and to this day, ZERO response from them thereafter.

Anyone who is thinking on HVH, take this as a warning. I may be a cheapskate, but bless them for wasting one whole week of my time trying to get this to work.

Please do not use RackNerd we have issued a dirty IP that is being blocked by almost all internet sites. they refuse to provide a new IP without charging a Fee and they are unable to provide the IP before purchase to verify it’s clean. Spend More go with a better host that actually cares about you as a customer.

I wish I had time to research before renewing my racknerd – there are two more interesting players – netcup and strato – found them via reddit r/selfhosted. They don’t cap you to 1TB monthly traffic and offer 30GB storage. Definitely better for EU users like me. The only bullet point offers now for me racknerd is that being US based I can rarely do a quick ssh port forward and access a local proxy to visit some US sites that forbid EU visitors.

When I asked racknerd about even considering discussing this for the future, the answer was the website chat box person cannot forward the suggestions up the decision chain and instead directed me to contact sales or support.

Just bought a VPS from Server Host (vpshostingservice.co) for 1.6 usd/ month and it was my mistake. I ordered a polish location, but they gave me in NL. And my biggest dissapointment was when i saw a network speed of my fresh VPS. Speed doesnt exeed 10 Mbps (both for in and out). So i complained to tech support who replied they improved my VPS speed, but this was untrue, because speed was just 10Mbps as before. This company is not honest to their customers!!!
