Lets see how many negative comments we can get!
you can do better then this place;
their support team is incompetent.
the price may look nice, but you really get what you pay for with these guys.
my advice it to look elsewhere.
Can you please validate your post and show proof you were a client? This is definitely not true and we have many happy clients who commented in this very own LEB listing. As such, I’d love a form of proof that you are/were actually a customer, anything will work including invoice ID!
Awaiting your reply.
Jim,
Still awaiting your reply.
This is definitely not my experience with cvps. The times I’ve had to send in support emails, they were responded to in less than a half hour, often times less than 10 minutes, and issue resolved. I don’t know if you were an actual customer or not, but I’ve had 4 vps’s through them, and have never seen anything resembling incompetence. Even when I submitted support tickets that ended up being something stupid I did, they took the time to fix it, or help me fix it.
Thanks Zahra, we appreciate your time! If anyone has any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask, ChicagoVPS representatives are standing by eager to assist you!
Thanks,
Kevin
I’ve used ChicagoVPS hosting for well over a year now, and their service is everything you expect from a host and more. They are quick to respond to tickets and have a quality service. If you’re trying to decide if you should get this or not, get it and you won’t be disappointed.
P.S. I’m not affiliated with them in any way, just love having a reliable host.
Thanks Geoff, we appreciate the opportunity. Thanks for being such a loyal customer of ChicagoVPS!
You forgot to request invoice ID from this potential client :P
Hi there,
Can I please know how much per year for enterprise plan.
I apply promo code including cpanel and it shows 34.95/monthly.
Do you include installation of cpanel or do I have to DIY…
Thanks.
I have no idea how you guys can afford these types of prices, but definitely a steal of a deal. Been a CVPS customer for 2 years now, and other than the brief issues last year (I lost no data thanks to CVSP central backup), my service has been perfect. Keep it up!
Thank you very much for the kind words! Because we purchase hardware in bulk and have negotiated excellent deals with our partners, we’re able to pass the savings down to our customers and provide quality VPS services at unbeatable prices!
Let us know if you ever need anything, thanks for choosing ChicagoVPS.
Any chance the vps template selection will get updated? I’d like to see ubuntu 12.04 if possible.
a vps hero ! is there any cheap xen vps for us ?
Hi,
Please email sales@chicagovps.net with your requirements and we will provide a competitive quote for a custom XEN VPS for you. We appreciate your interest!
– Kevin
Please note that we offer optional control panels for the convenience of our customers! We have a Kloxo OS template which can be reinstalled from our VPS control panel at no cost.
Additionally, discounted cPanel/WHM is available to all packages with the exception of the “Basic” plan – just $10/month for cPanel/WHM! Unbeatable price you won’t find elsewhere at any distributor, retailer, or VPS provider! We also offer DirectAdmin for $5/month.
ChicagoVPS clients have yet another advantage! ChicagoVPS is a certified partner with WHMCS and as such we are able to offer you discounted WHMCS licenses! Any ChicagoVPS client is entitled to purchase WHMCS branded license for $13.95/month – much cheaper compared to the retail rate at whmcs.com. Just send in a ticket to billing if you wish purchase this.
All the more reason that ChicagoVPS is the clear cut choice, offering unbeatable perks to our customers such as free monitoring, free Mohawk voice server, free central backups, free weekly node-wide backups, discounted control panel licenses, 24×7 support, and so much more all while providing unmatched VPS prices and quality!
Let us know if anyone has any questions, we’re happy to assist.
Thanks,
Kevin
I’m seriously considering buy one of these. The only thing holding back is this: Cpanel/WHM is $10, instead of current market price of $14.95. However, Softaculous is at $4 instead of $1.5 which is what Softaculous itself offers it for.
Qns:
1. Why the disparity? Can you match the price?
2. If I buy a Quarterly or Yearly VPS, can I still pay for Cpanel/WHM and Softaculous on a monthly basis?
3. Are these cpanel/WHM packs offered only as part of ordering a VPS? ;)
Seriously, I need to get rid of some of the VPSes I’ve purchased! But maintaining my current open source control panel is taking more toll on my time, and I’m planning to switch to cpanel. These definitely are a great price for cpanel.
Joel,
We can offer Softaculous for $1.50/month for you! Please open a sales ticket after your order and we’ll get this taken care of for you.
Regarding #2 yes you can pay for cPanel/WHM and Softaculous monthly, that will not be an issue.
Let us know if you have any additional questions!
Regards,
Kevin
Thanks Kevin. I tested the speeds and was impressed by some of the locations. However for budgetary reasons I will have to take a raincheck and continue my current 6 month plan of VPS. Hopefully at the end of that time, CVPS will still be offering good plans here, and I may be able to come aboard. Thanks for your positive response to my queries.
Please check Enterprise Plan: Chicago&LA , the url is wrong
Good eye! Thanks for that. It seems like they missed the ” : ” in the URL after https, I am updating our ticket with LEB to get this corrected ASAP. In the meantime simply copy the URL and add : after https =)
Thanks,
Kevin
As an update, looks like this was resolved promptly by the LEB staff. All order links should be linked correctly now =)
Thanks,
Kevin
Any chance of getting ubuntu 12.04 added to the template list?
We do have 12.04 templates. The reason why we do not offer it in the public ordering form is because not all of our nodes support 12.04 yet. We are still working on upgrading the nodes that do not support it to 2.6.32 kernels which do. The majority of our nodes now support it, so there is a 95% chance your VPS will be set up on a node that supports it. So just order with any OS in the order form, then after your order you can reinstall to 12.04 from the VPS control panel (SolusVM).
If you somehow do not see the option to reinstall it to 12.04 from SolusVM after your order, just open a ticket and we’ll move your VPS over to a node that supports 12.04.
Thanks,
Kevin
I know that the Ubuntu 12.04 template (x86/64) is available at the Buffalo location, I’m currently running 1 VPS off it.
will you please approve my previous comment ?
all i see is this;
“Your comment is awaiting moderation.”
One more question. I’d like to set up my own private nameservers? Is it possible to provide two additional IPv4? What would it cost?
Yes you can set up your own nameservers. We generally offer additional IP’s for $2/month additional, however open a ticket to sales and reference this LEB post, we can discount this to just $1.40/month exclusively for LEB readers!
Thanks for the interest,
Kevin
Hi,
Please solve my ticket “#QXI-369440 – Ubuntu 12.04” so thatI can start working on my VPS
Best Regards,
Davi
You’re all set! Let us know if you need anything else.
More questions?
1. Can you provide test files on each of these locations to make an assessment of network speeds?
2. What is the CPU spec of these servers? Freq and cores?
3. What is your policy on policy share on fair share of CPUs? What do you consider a limit for CPU usage in terms of cores and time used?
Yes I have too many questions, but considering an annual plan is different from buying a monthly VPS and discarding it if dissatisfied. ;)
Hi Joel,
Please email sales@chicagovps.net and we’ll get the test files for you.
These VPS are powered by blazing fast Intel Xeon Ivybridge E3-1240v2 3.40 GHz processors, all plans except for the Basic plan receive 4 CPU cores on fair share, we ask that you keep your CPU usage reasonable and do not use it in a way that would interrupt other neighbors on the same host node as you. As long as you keep your VPS’s server load average under 7.00 for the most part (we don’t mind if you burst over for a few minutes), then you shouldn’t have an issue.
We appreciate the opportunity you have given us.
– Kevin
Isn’t a load of 7.00 already overloading the cpu since only 4 cores are alloted?
Hi Kevin,
I’m sorry for bringing you this here, but, I did not receive a reply since saturday.
could you please have look on Ticket #UII-371866
I apologize for the delay, as this is a sales/billing request this ticket was flagged to billing over the weekend, as you know our billing department operates Monday to Friday while support is a 24×7 department.
I will ensure this is properly taken care of by tonight.
Resolved.
I always said “ChicagoVps is one of the most reliable budget vps provider”. And you proved it again! :)
thanks
:) Thanks!
i had a bad start with cvps, but now i have about 6 + very good uptime cpanel i pay monthly 10$ and cancel if i dont need it.
not the fastest replies in support but ok
defo will be getting one off these offers.
I currently have a couple servers with ChicagoVPS and so far it has been good. Had one incident last week where I was getting less than 10 iops on one of my servers. I contacted support and they told me to purchase a dedicated server…(which I know I don’t want/need) Luckily a few days later everything was fixed up and its been great since! I run a Minecraft server and it’s always up!
Strange, that shouldn’t be happening, I will be talking to our techs about this as all of our servers are monitored by our monitoring systems and should never fall to 10 iops, perhaps raid was rebuilding after a drive replacement.
Nonetheless, I’m glad to hear your problems were all resolved and glad that you’re happy!
Let us know if you need anything else.
Thanks,
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
Could you please have look on my ticket QXI-369440, please solve it so that I can start working on VPS. Since last 6 hours I have got no reply.
Best Regards,
Davi
Davi,
This was taken care of for you. Thank you and have a great day.
Regards,
Kevin
I’ve been signed up for a couple months (since last post) and have been very happy with performance and support (2 tickets opened).
Glad to hear Paul, we appreciate your trust and business.
– Kevin
In their defense, CVPS seems to have silently added gigabit to the servers and simply not updated their adverts.
Being client since last promo on LEB 2 months ago. Plan Professional.
All i can say is GREAT performance.
But very slow network for me in Buffalo. Anyway for this price it is great offer.
Kevin, can you offer something to increase speed for some extra cost?
So tempted… cant resist, signed up the Enterprise Plan!
Is the discount recurring? Next year will i pay 40$ again?
Correct, this is a recurring price, $40/year for the life of the service! =)
Thanks,
Kevin
It seems all the haters have never been customers before.
I purchased a cvps back in November, it’s working flawlessly
We appreciate your loyalty, certainly pleased to hear that everything is working out for you. If you ever need anything, we’re only a click away!
I recognize your “Summery:”
Not me, but I copied it from a thread then added my input.
Eh, not these guys again.
Does no one care that they had a database leak that was never properly addressed? I was one of the customers in that leak, had my VPS hacked. Before the database was made public it appears hackers were unhashing the easier passwords (my fault, I know) and logging into their SolusVM accounts to delete VPS data / rebuilding them. They changed my hostname to something like ‘lololugothacked’ or something like that. I have since left.
I never saw them properly address this. I know they did a password reset for everyone because I got the email but they never said WHY they did this (‘security’ measure) and they never mentioned that other accounts that use the same password should be changed too (like your email account). I changed my email account password but since my email address was in the database I’ve gotten so much more spam. I’d imagine all IPs in the database leak are still being subject to random attacks too. From what I understand it looks like only those using LastPass (saw the message on lowendtalk) got the ‘full’ message, and to this date they still havent given a report on the breach or really done anything in the way of saying how they will prevent future ones.
Aside that I fully do not trust this company, not what they say or what they do. It seems like it’s ran by a couple kids. Im sure it is not, but they lack professionalism for sure. The owner can’t even type a proper sentance leading me to believe he’s just a teenager, or maybe just a dumb adult. The performance was okay, at best. I mean, it’s just a cheap VPS so you get what you pay for. Uptime wasn’t bad though. Support was never really used but I had a sales ticket that took a day or two to get to, though I think the explanationw as it was the weekend. Understandable, but the owner who responded types like he outsourced his job to india (haha).
Before the attack/leak: 7/10
After the attack/leak: 2/10
In short, I don’t like their dishonesty. I read a lot about ChicagoVPS after the leak because I was really concerned. Was this my fault for not doing proper research before signing up? Were they a high risk company that I failed to recognize prior to registering last year? I’ve found a lot of information that leads me to believe that they’re quite dishonest and non-genuine.
Seems since the attack the performance is better, I read they had like 200 servers on each node so after that came public they likely put less on each node now. That is good. But do I trust them with my data? No, not at all.
If you’re unfamliar with them, do some Googling and make your own judgement.
Anyhow, my search for a 3rd ‘low end box’ continues, but as I saw this on the front page I felt compelled to take a moment to warn others to think before signing up.
So my reply here was deleted too. Nice.
I had said something along the lines of how I agree with you, etc. Especially “If you’re unfamliar with them, do some Googling and make your own judgement.” Yup.
Been a customer since late 2011. Usually been happy with service, yes I lost data a few months ago but just restored from central backup. Support was poor before Jeramiah left but seems good now. There’s better services around, but not for these prices. The service always exceeds my expectations for the price.
Mark,
Good to know =) If you need anything we’re just a click away!
Thanks,
Kevin
wow that is what a call a storm of good deals!!
If I don’t specifically request to be transferred to a different node, will you guarantee I won’t be transferred without notice?
It looks like some of people not like this company, and looks like @Jath know something
1. I went to order the 2GB Enterprise plan, but didn’t find the right option – There was no $40/year option.
2. I’m new to VPS, but I don’t expect any management. Can support just setup tomcat 6 and mysql for me (setup only)? Or will it require separate payment?
Sorry, I know nothing about VPS etc. I just want to get a JSP site running under tomcat – the price here is very reasonable, but I will need *noob* help in getting the first “Hello” jsp page going. Will that be catered to?
So it seems my comment from yesterday was deleted. Cool stuff.
I said something along the lines that you could do better finding another provider here. ChicagoVPS isn’t known for their customer service. Just look around the web.
And yes, I’ve been a customer with them before.
Can anyone speak to their LA location? I have a 2GB box with UG in ATL (similar pricing and setup) and wanted something on the West Coast with better connects to SE Asia. They don’t have any test files linked…
TIA!
This is my 128MB box at CVPS LA:
198.23.251.123
http://198.23.251.123/100mb.test
Works OK for me – will probably sign up now…
Looks good!
=)
Yup, got a black friday vps deal with them. It was terrible right from the start. Came back here and slickdeals and read the horror stories from several people. Learned about all the points Pub Crawler talks about (some didn’t happen until later in 2013) and promptly asked for a refund. They denied it of course and I ended up having to do a chargeback to get my money back. Thankfully when I asked for a refund they decided it was smart to cancel my server for me at the same time, made the chargeback easier.
In short: Terrible company, terrible polices, Owner “Chris” is arrogant, and the list goes on. Really, Google it. The post at the PHX2600 forums is a funny read too.
Very bad experience!
if you read the post say Buffalo, NY Test IP: 75.127.3.3! OK, I order one buffalo vps, they give me an ipaddress 198.46.156.xxx, I dont understand why! they tell me if I order chicago “we can get all kinds of IP ranges.” So I order a chicago vps again, holy shit! the new chicago vps ipaddress also 198.46.156.xxx!! I ask them why, they tell me
“That IP range is in Chicago and your VPS is in chicago. The ranges are about the same in Buffalo at this moment.”
FxCK…Chicago and Buffalo are same place?? and the two vps on same node.
Luc Ayotte and Kevin Hillstrand, can you tell me more about above?? why the chicago and buffalo vps on same node? play me?
the last reply
“Why did you selected Chicago for the location for your Buffalo node?”
god!! save me! I bought more than 60+ VPS, But today I am idiot!
Johnhooo,
Buffalo and Chicago are certainly not the same place, if you are from the US you should know that Buffalo is in New York while Chicago is in Illinois, both are in different states and on different coasts of the United States.
Running a traceroute can identify your server location, however please supply me with a ticket ID so I can investigate your case further and work with you to reach a resolution.
I appreciate your time!
Thanks,
Kevin
Which coast would Chicago be on?
Central US, more towards the east
I have had my Enterprise VPS for over a year. I am quite happy with the performance. I have had reason to contact support, and have never found the response to be less than prompt and professional.
And as a big plus, I do not receive any “partner mails” or any other such spam.
Cheers.
Hi James,
We appreciate your loyalty and the kind words.
Don’t hesitate to let us know if you need anything.
Thanks,
Kevin
Even though I only grabbed their Exclusive package yesterday, I’ve been thoroughly impressed with CVPS. Their support staff is quick to respond to tickets, and even offered to image my VPS with an OS (Arch) that they don’t officially support anymore (I specifically inquired about Arch as I know Arch like the back of my hand).
Bravo.
I was waiting for another special and you all came through with another great one. I just signed up again. This will be my forth service in the past 2 years. I’m trying the Atlanta service this time since it is a bit closer to me and hope to get better pings.
Let me know if you open service at the Ashville, NC data center. It’s in my back yard :)
I’ve only had to request support a few times. It has always been handled timely and sometimes within minutes.
Keep up the good work guys and thank you for cheap and reliable vps service.
-Joe
Thanks for your continued trust and business =)
Regards,
Kevin
I have been a CVPS customer for 6-8 months or so now, I have at least 3-4 VPS with them, and have referred several people. The one time I had an issue, Chris F. took care of me wonderfully. Their support is helpful, and quick, and I have had *very few* issues with them. I have had considerably more issues with other providers, but Im not going to name names here. I would say I get a lot more than what I pay for with CVPS. I am actually looking at dropping a few of the other hosts I use, and picking up another CVPS vps.
Have been with CVPS for about a year now and have had zero problems. Using the server as a test/dev machine and it has been living up to my expectatations.
Hi Kevin,
Can you please take a look at Ticket #RVM-349175
Thanks!
I have honestly not needed to contact support too much with ChicagoVPS. When I did have to though, they diligently worked on my problems.
But I do note that sometimes the VPS gets lag spikes every now and then. I’d still recommend them.
It is not good to china. low speed very much.
Well, I don’t agree with you, I’m using there exclusive plan and have an amazing speed to East China, ping ranges from 140ms to 220ms depending on time.
At first, they had some issues on my node, and my VPS was rebooted everyday, ever since they moved me to another node, things went fine, and I’m happy with my VPS now.
BTW, they responded quickly on my tickets.
Hi Kent,
What location are you talking about?
Our Los Angeles location offers excellent latency and speeds to/from Asia and we have a large number of satisfied clients from Asia utilizing our VPS located in our Los Angeles facility with no complaints.
Thanks,
Kevin
I ahve been a customer for about two years. Yes, I lost everything with the VPS hack. Was a PITA, but they were supportive. I don’t trust anyone with my data or services – not even amazon – so I had offline restores available and was back in action shortly. Save for a flakey disk controller in the beginning – they’ve been fine since and a great value. I just bought two more of the enterpise VPSs. nice!
Can somebody test the speeds from europe? So far I tried downloading one 100mb, the only one I found, and it didn’t look great at all from Moldova(starned isp) 200-250 KB/s.
Can somebody post some benchmarks from bigger EU countries?
Thanks
Hi Vic,
Our Buffalo, NY location should offer the best speeds to/from Europe.
Thanks
Do any of these OpenVZ deals have the following IPTABLES modules available?
limit, hashlimit, recent, length, string
I’ve not used OpenVZ in a few years, and really love having those modules under KVM. I seem to remember OpenVZ having at least a few of those modules, can you verify whether or no the more sophisticated ones like hashlimit and recent are on OpenVZ now?
Thanks,
Boyd
If someone has an OpenVZ server with these guys, would you post the output to the following command? It should show what iptables modules are available.
sudo cat /proc/net/ip_tables_matches

Just got a response on my query via Email. Turns out the iptables modules I listed above ARE available under OpenVZ now.
Nice to see that OpenVZ has been maturing well over the past few years.
I tried few VPS providers , Chicago VPS i found the best.
It is cheap, support is an average, server is fine.
For all this time at some stage they have had a problem with connection cable, causing server to stop or to be slow, but they fixed it. it was a bit frustrating but after that everything is fast and reliable. I use Kloxo and probably only 5% of server resources. Planing to take one more VPS with them for other related site but to be on a different server, it is cheaper then shared hosting I use for that site.
you don’t take amex… wtf?
many dont
very bad service … i’ve paid last night but until now never get the panel or vps
Hi Cakra,
I understand this is an old post but if you require any assistance whatsoever feel free to reach out to me directly at khillstrand@chicagovps.net
Thanks
Bought one of these back in March and moved over a modest forum site with 4000 active users a month, 500 users a day, 5000 pages a day, 250,000 posts and was amazed at how well it is running. Haven’t had any support issues yet, so can’t speak to it. But I have been using VPSes from a variety of suppliers and various sizes for over 10yrs, and this has easily been one of the best performing budget hosts I have used.
Hello,
I was CPVS client fee years ago… Because of some reason I move to another provider.
Anyway, may I know whether you have Ubuntu 12.04 template? I like your Basic Yearly VPS (LA location).
Thanks…
Wira,
We do support 12.04
Regards
Chris
Another ‘me too’ comment: happy customer here,
for about a year now.
Good support response & VPS performance.
Thanks for the comments Patrick! :)
I’ve been a customer for about two years now, and it’s been amazing. The performance is pretty good, support is very quick, albeit I’d say it’s essentially the same as having a low-mid end Kimsufi server on average even though the hardware is better because all of the resources are shared. On the downside, the node that I’m on had a funny issue one time with ChicagoVPS. I sent in a ticket about my box being down, they’ve fixed it and said the ethernet cable had came ouyt. Not sure how that happened. But regardless, I’d recommend ChicagoVPS to anyone who doesn’t need high reliability.
My VPS went down yesterday. After several hours I sent a follow-up to the ticket and I was told they were working on it. It’s still down today. I still haven’t heard back, even after a third follow-up to the ticket.
I have 4 VPS’s with Chicago VPS. It looks like I have to look for an alternative.
Naveed,
This issue was taken care of and explained in ticket.
Hello,
I have been using this service since the first of this month. Since then, I haven’t had any downtime, the service is really great! I hope nothing bad happens to my server like the previous comments. However, I am a very satisfied customer!
I’ve been a satisfied customer for several months now & will be ordering a second VPS from them soon. The customer service response time is very good and they’ve been great about upgrading a previously purchased plan to match the current promotional deal.
Well, you get what you pay for, which is why we’re on lowendbox in the first place.
The server is generally pretty zippy, and combined with others in the same price range, it does rather well. I’ve been with them for the past two months complaining off and on about some network routing issues which may very well be out of their control, or an upstream provider’s issue.
For instance, LA will route to London 10x faster than it will route to Atlanta… earlier on, Buffalo wouldn’t connect to the Bay Area at higher than 50k/s. For $30-40 a year, these are just some random things that aren’t really dealbreakers… like how my 1985 Ferrari with shitty gas mileage. Everything else seems fine for what I’m throwing at it… basically hosting my car club, family, and friends who would otherwise pay $20/mo to their Domain Registrar for 1/10th of the service.
ChicagaVPS not allocated any SWAP memory,So OpenVZ-128MB can not do anything…:(
Hello,
We dont offer swap on an plans and was always publicly known.

Chris
About chicagovps
Are Torrents client allowed?
Are cpu intensive java application allowed?
Are Remote Desktop allowed?
Been with chicagovps for just about a year now, a couple downtimes, but as soon as I send in a ticket, its fixed within the hour. Happy customer here and does exactly what I need it to do!.
For those complaining on this, why don’t you go try and find the same specs of a vps for the same price…..I know I looked all over and didn’t see anything NEAR this good for this price, especially at this…$40/YR?…how can you go wrong? I know I bought 2 more ;)
Hi David,
We’re honored to have you as a loyal customer. If you ever need anything just let us know.
Thanks,
Kevin
I just wanted to put in my 2cents with this company, I am learning about vps and servers and hosting. I Think this is the best deal around I have had no issues with the servers. I have got a reply for any questions I have asked them and they have provided solutions for the request I have had. This company is going to do very well and you should get your services before they increase there prices due to the the fact that they are pushing hard to be one of the biggest vps hosting companys….
Is Windows Vps ?
Hi! This promotion is not for Windows, however if you require a Windows VPS please email sales@chicagovps.net and we will provide you with a quote for one as we do supply these under our XEN HVM line up.
Thanks!
Blocked by Fraud… lovely…
It seems most VPS providers flag non-US-based IP addresses as FRAUD. You just need to send their sales team a trouble ticket regarding the FRAUD issue and they will resolve the issue.
Hi Roman,
Sorry about the inconvenience.
Please submit a support ticket and we’ll review your order. If no red flags are raised we will approve the order without any questions.
Thanks
Any one else experiencing down time with chicagoVPS? My VPS is down, filed a ticket 8 hours ago. Still no response from support. VPS still down. :(
Mine was down at LA location. But up in about 50minutes kater based on uptimerobot report..
Karel,
Do you have a ticket ID I can look further into? My direct email is khillstrand@chicagovps.net
I look forward to hearing back from you.
have their one vps since almost a year. surprisingly there was not even a single noticable downtime until now. cheap and best deal around! i will take services from them so long as they offer (:
Thanks for the kind words, we appreciate the opportunity.
Any similar deals on Xen? I’m interested in Corporate package. Also how do upgrades work with these coupons?
afaik their coupons are a fixed dollar amount ( and not a percentage). so it wont much sense on updates, however you are free to nudge them to give you a custom quote. Lets wait for the official reply though
I AM SO SORRY I EVER WENT WITH THIS HOST.
They ran vulnerable servers that were hacked and I lost all of my data.
Their “central backup” did not backup any of my data. I recommend looking elsewhere for a VPS, and will never do business with them again.
been a client now for about 6 weeks and unless someone takes the finger out of their bottoms and uses it to fix my vps in the near future I will be leaving them.
I have been offline since the 18th June 2013 (7 days ago) and all I get is unhelpful remarks like:
18th “We are working on this and will release a statement shortly.” – Chris Fabozzi
18th “We do not, there is a big task at hand and will release more info shortly” – Chris Fabozzi
18th “Please be patient and wait for the RFO email.” – Chris Fabozzi
18th “We are working on this still and have sent an email stating what happened this morning.” – Chris Fabozzi
20th “We’re getting pretty close to having this issue fully resolved.” – Matt
22nd “At this time virtually all customers are back online” – Matt
25th “Server still not online” – Me
BEV THE FINGERS ARE NOT ENOUGH FOR THEIR BOTTOMS THEY NEED FULL ARMS IN THERE TO GET ANY SATISFACTION
After my previous downtime wiht ChicagoVPS (see a couple of posts up) I have another downtime. This is lasting now for over a week!! My patience with ChicagoVPS is over. They had a security breach in SolusVM and it seems they still not have all accounts restored.
More than 7 days offline!!! Unacceptable!!!! Stay away from ChicagoVPS no matter how tempting their offers.
I ordered and paid a 3GB VPS 24 hours ago and it’s still pending. I opened a support ticket about 8 hours ago and still no answer.
I’m going to have to cancel my account with these guys. Unreliable. Tickets unanswered. You get what you pay for. I was really looking forward working with thus company.
I had 3 SERVERS With these Guys and they were really good.
But I think they got rid of the GOOD STAFF from their company.
And the CEO is trying to run the services on his own and can-not cope with things
I Closed 1 account down and was waiting for a reply on my TICKET but the CEO Doesn’t understand English.
SO I DECIDED TO CLOSE A SECOND ACCOUNT DOWN.
AND WILL CLOSE THE THIRD ONE TOO WHEN IT CONES FOR RENEWAL.
where to start after last year and getting all my data wiped, i needed a quick place to host so came back
and mates wanted a couple so i ended up with 3 all was going well for a short time until boom and solus started- ok fair enough my other providers solus was still up and running fine with little or no downtime.
was told id get all my data back- the only thing i got restored was a test html website and all my other vps where wiped true nothing at all on them asked for a back up they didnt have one i mean wtf
ok so my mates wanted a refund for this loss of data
and you know what the cheeky twats refunded me for my bad time and loss off all
$3.00 f’in dollars chris you can go and suck my arsehole fucking scam artist lies more lies and more lies from all support thats if you get any dealpool this shocking host
Okay guys Chicago VPS is yes a great company the infrastructure you get for your money is incredible truly amazing! But…. the tickets lately have been taking FOREVER to get a response i understand you had the solus Hack but please just get another tech at least till things start easing out a bit.. I mean for instance people can’t enable tun tap or ppp. Would be greatly appreciated if you guys could speed up the ticket process but again ;) Love the infrastructure and you can’t necessarily beat those fell off the back of a truck hardware price :)
They can not afford any more Staff here so this guy called Chris is try to do all the jobs himself and he doesnt understand ENGLISH
Hello,
We ordered vps there and already pay the invoice but my vps still not active until now.
For the owner please take a look this ticket:
Ticket #MPV-904506
Hope this will be processed soon.
Thanks.
I’m with them for 3 months now. I’m having a serious issue with the performance of my Enterprise VPS in Chicago. This morning they fixed something on it apparently, and it was back to normal, 2 hours later, the same performance issue reappeared.
I’m willing to upgrade it if the performance will be there, i’ve offered them this option, now waiting for their response which takes a While.
(For those thinking it’s 1 guy operating the whole VPS business, you’re wrong) They are 2 at least. (Chris & Luc)
yes there are 2 Professionals who know nothing about anything they don’t understand English.
The better Team have Split from this Company and they were the best.
But it is good that they left 2 Monkeys to run the Show.
Show them a Banana and they Dance :)
Just as well I got less then 2 weeks to go for closing my 3rd account with them
the service is shit support even shitter why would you order after all these comments only and fucking monkey would
Agreed with you PLEASE STAY CLEAR FROM THESE MONKEYS
The worse service ever…Avoid this host
THEY ARE THE BEST AT LOSING CLIENTS
THEY SURELY KNOW HOW TO LOSE THE CLIENTS :)
How many virtual cores for the basic vps package. Thanks
THESE GUYS DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE ASKING
Nothing worst then wait for hours and hours to get an response from them when important site is down.
I am still waiting.
Just purchase basic VPS. Delivered after payment made (under 2 minutes). Darn really fast.
Yes, you do get what you pay for… You are paying for a reasonable VPS at a decent Price. I have had to contact support a couple of times during my service with Chicago VPS, and the Techs have been Great.
Keep up the Great work Chicago VPS
-Satisfied Client.
Hi Chris,
Looks like the servers are down. I am not able to login into the Management panel or even your homepage. Can you check please?
Regards,
You had an offer a while ago w/3gb and 100gb hdd. I meant to sign up but time got the better of me. Any chance you’ll be running something similar again?
I paid for a year. Server doesnt work or they lock me out so I have to wait few days until they give me new password. I asked for money back they refused.
Stay away from CHICAGOVPS.com
For each $ they took from I’ll give them one review.
If you paid by Paypal Please get in touch with Paypal and tell them the issue
we have informed Paypal and they are looking into it
although they say they do not give refunds and they only give Credits to be used on their Shitty Services (Who would want a Credit Note for a Company whose Support Guru’s don’t even know if the door to the Left is on the right or not)
Hope Paypal will give back the Money and claim it back from them (If paypal get enough complaints then they will stop taking money for this company)
what are the mailing limitations here, how many per hour ?
