LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
Excellent hosting provider. I’m with them a litte over 3 mothns now and it’s been great so far. No downtime so far, network is very fast I can max out the 100MBit line without a problem. Server hardware is very decent too, you get access to 1 CPU core of a Xeon E5520 @ 2.27GHz.
Support is also top notch, response usually within 1,5 hours even in the weekends.
A+ definitely!
I don’t see a TOS or AUP on their site anywhere.

I have had a vps with these guys for 3 months as well. Its nice to have an inexpensive Xen VPS on
real Enterprise grade hardware with a real network ;0
Damn, my server racks’ ToS/AUPs are simpler than that. 7 pages of tiny print? Ouch.
And considering it really doesn’t have to deal with the leasing of VPS services, it’s all kind of moot.
Thanks though for the follow up but I think I’ll pass on these folks.
Hello,
Our general terms and conditions are from a branche organisation (FENIT). This is why it is not only about hosting. We allow anything legal in The Netherlands and are not blocking any applications/services/ports. If you have any specific questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Also thanks for the positive feedback Pascal & Joe Merit.

I’ve used this hosting provider since 30th Sept ’09, since then there have been very few issues (a power failure [downtime ~30 mins] and a little network interruption due to a DDoS attack) which is negligible since this is the 5th month doing business.
The network is second to none and support has been responsive when a support ticket has been created.
All in all a very pleasant hosting company to deal with, and cheap prices to accompany :)
I signed up with Yisp last week. The quality of the support has been excellent. The VPS setup and provisioning was quick and smooth and performance is fine. Impressive company.
Really happy customer here, the main admin is really nice and provided great support, very fast response.
Impressive company.
I will definitely be a long term customer there.
moving away from photonVPS, really crap company,
Here another very satisfied YISP customer. I use them for personal use, but they’re way better with support & response times than the hosting provider my employer has to deal with…
Greetings,
Evert
I have a VPS With them for a few month, so far it’s great: nice bandwidth, nice support…
Thanks!
Code not working anymore…
That is correct, coupons don’t work anymore. A few weeks ago we have launched our cloud platform and lowered prices. The 128MB package is no more, our new platform doesn’t support it. We are (one of) the cheapest cloud providers, i’m sure you will get your money’s worth!
That’s too bad that you didn’t do another 128MB/5EUR offer, would have been great for the people who need a small vps…
10EUR/256MB is not bad but well, pretty expensive if you don’t need 256MB :/
