Richard, from ArmorShark, has sent in two KVM offers especially for Christmas:
Shark 1024KVM
| Shark 512KVM
|
ArmorShark is new to the KVM game, but have been around for a while. Check their last offer for more information about who they are and what their terms are. For now, enjoy this Merry Christmas from Richard and feel free to share your experiences with these new products in the comments!
Richard notes that Minecraft is strictly forbidden and that DDoS attacks are stopped by null-routing the affected IP(s) so that other users won’t be affected by it.

Wow. Awesome deal. :/ so many servers to buy. Can one install windows with own key?
Hi @ahmiq,
Yes, you will be able to install Windows with your own license key.
please upload the windows iso, yes i have a key
Too bad, no monthly payment!
Armorshark used to offer KVM out of Choopa but they discontinued the service.. hope they figured things out in this new secret location that the LEB writers don’t want to share with us.
We’re in Phoenix. You can’t blame Maarten because I really did bombard him with some last minute edits to the post, and that caused some confusion.

I tried to place an order now but got this error
Uh oh! Something went wrong …
Our billing system encountered an temporary error .
Please try to perform last action again. If error persists let us know, we will do our best to fix it.
When i tried to raise a ticket to let you know, got this
There is no active support departments at the moment
Lucky that this did not happen after making the payment, with no other way to contact i would have been really worried
Krisha, this has been fixed.
Tried to open a ticket, but it says “There is no active support departments at the moment”.
May be misconfiguration with HostBill.
This has been fixed, my apologies.
Thanks.
100% uptime guaranteed… so what happens should it ever go down?
simple:
4.8 YOU AGREE THAT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, YOU WILL NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, NEGLIGENCE, HOLD ARMORSHARK OR ITS LICENSORS LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES WHATSOEVER INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, COST SAVINGS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, DATA OR USE, OR ANY OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS BY YOU, ANY OF YOUR END USERS OR ANY OTHER THIRD PARTY.
This was copied from our upstream provider at Choopa, who has a pretty stellar record. But thank you for reading through the entire TOS, that’s some due diligence.
Nah, if you failed to accomplish your 100% uptime guarantee, the customer is not allowed to ask for any compensation as according to S4.8? I can’t see a legal SLA agreement being established.
That has no bearing on my original question. However, should it ever go down for even a minute, it’s false advertisement. Once that happens, it’s no longer 100% uptime guaranteed.
We’re rolling out our new design in the next twenty-four hours. This was a misleading banner as it referenced network uptime.
Just in case they have a disk failure one day:

These VPSes are running in an Openstack cloud setup. We have built in excellent recovery systems that will bring your VPSes back online quickly.
There’s an issue with Hostbill right now that we are working through. Signups are closed until it’s fixed.
Asked two questions a few hours ago by email. No response yet … Not impressed so far …
Hi wl,
What’s your email? We received one email about the billing issue and we hadn’t replied yet as we were working on fixing it.
Sorry, I was wrong: I used the webform at:
https://www.armorshark.com/clients/contact.php
The Hostbill issue has been addressed. It was just a theme issue that messed up the Paypal gateway.
Will you download other ISOs to be booted?
Hi Dustin,
Yes.
Welcome Email, Client Area,VM info(IP,Login url.etc..) all is blank.
I have replied to your ticket.
Hi! What’s the CPU cores clock speed? Do you allow high CPU usage? e.g. primecoin mining? In that case… I would keep the system load at the same number as CPU cores, but never higher.
waiting answer for the same question. I think it’s fine as it is KVM ;)
I can do that in DigitalOcean droplet but they limit one droplet only for mining coins :)
No, mining is not allowed.
the 512mb seems very good deal
Thanks jcaleb! We’d love to have you.
The post says 4 CPU cores for 1024KVM but order form says 3!
Little confused.
It’s 3 cores, sorry for the confusion.
any benchmark 512?

Anyone know how to use the dashboard? I cannot find anything to bring it up.
@ostcollector, please contact us via support ticket.
Anyone have a review of this vps provider?

Buyer beware: The panel is not working yet and the VPS is unusable until they fix it! I bought the 1GB plan yesterday and I’ve yet to access my VPS. The information e-mail I received was empty and when I contacted support, they gave me the IP of the VPS so I can log via SSH. The problem: the VPS is not running and the only way to start it is via the panel, which is not functional as they are still working on the interaction of the panel with the node…
confirm this information, vps is not activated, the control panel is not available, the support is not responding
Yeah, I have this problem too, IP is blank and support isn’t responding to my ticket. But it’s the weekend so I guess that’s slightly forgiveable for now..
In the same boat.
Same here. It’s been more than 30 hours.
Going to open a dispute if I don’t get up in 12 hours.
If you don’t have proper access by Monday, all orders will be refunded. You can also decide to request a refund anyway Monday and we’ll process it.
I’m holding out on purchasing to see how this one goes, if the reports on monday are good I’ll be buying :)
Still not working? Would be great to at least have a status update!
Hi agonyzt,
We are doing some final testing and the systems should be up in a few hours. I will provide another update in one hour.

No issues so far. Setting up some final configurations.
No issues so far. Setting up some final configurations.
Anything yet? No one has replied to my tickets; today will be the third day since I opened them.
Still nothing, other than the plan I ordered having been moved to a “invalid” category.
why when i try to login with my email and password says it is wrong, and password recovery says my email is not registered, it was that I received the information from VPS
My VPS was provisioned yesterday (on the 31st), although I couldn’t leave an update here as I had to leave for New Year’s. I’ll post a more detailed impression below.
It’s starting to get ridiculous now… 6 days, and still unusable. Can you please read open tickets? Don’t want to bring all this on public forums…
Hi mate,
Just signed up and the email with the host details is stuffed: The host name is missing, and in gmail it is not formatting the html/paragraph tags properly:
Dear Michael xxxx.
Your order has been accepted and your VPS Server has been set-up.
New Account Information
Package: Shark 512KVM
Hostname:
First Payment Amount: $24.00 USD
Total Amount: $24.00 USD
Billing Cycle: Annually
Next Due Date: 12/28/2014
Login Details
[snip]
The form did not ask for a vps host name, I am guessing this could affect creation? either way, I have a management area username/password, and root password, but no client management area URL or vps IP address to ssh into.
Ok, so this site formatted all the p tags fine when I posted the comment. :-/
Ticket #727648, waiting for a reply/ip
2 hours since the support ticket was opened.. No reply yet.. anyone know what there refund terms are? nothing in their t&c
They claim to have a three day money-back guarantee (http://www.armorshark.com/clients/knowledgebase.php?action=displayarticle&id=5). But if you paid via PayPal, I’d just launch a dispute.
It’s the weekend though, so perhaps they’ll respond on Monday..
Been 6 days:
– I recieved another automated email with access details, and an IP address of ‘0’, meaning I cannot login
– No reply to 2x support tickets
– No reply to email sent to support@armorshark.
Pretty useless. Have opened a paypal dispute.
So I am still waiting for a refund from paypal, and have still not had any correspondence from Armor shark.
;-) I hope Richard Leik and team having a great weekend
“[They’re] starting to damage my calm.”
Bad call to be running out, immediately after announcing a sale.
What exactly are you referencing? I never sent such an email.
It’s a quote from Serenity. Browncoats will know.
By “they”, I was referring to you guys, and how you guys (seem) to have taken off for the weekend (and maybe the new year?), leaving a number (based on the comments here) of concerns unaddressed–including mine.
Hi, Richard. Ticket #664408 would like some attention, please (it’s been three days since I signed up; still inaccessible).
Do you support custom ISO’s? If so, how would one upload them ?
Hey do you support FreeBSD on KVM?
can you provide me vps with Ubuntu 13.04
Hello all,
Right now, 99% of accounts have been provisioned. You should have been sent an email with details.
We have been working hard to get this done as soon as possible, but I still apologize for the delay. I will be going through all the tickets in our system and comments on this post tomorrow.
As for the Paypal disputes, please close the dispute in 48 hours if you wish to keep the KVM account.
Richard
The ROOT password is? any ISO can mount? still can’t connect to it and reinstall it.is such KVM?
Got the IP, but it’s not working yet.
Tried to reset the root password from HostBill, it throws an error.
What is the VPS panel url?
No reply yet to my ticket!
Damn you man!
I wish Richard and team in the new year, their efforts have resulted in at least some positive results. Today, 4 days after the payment is nothing. leave open Paypal disputes.
Happy new year to all !!!
WHY MY ACCOUNT HAS BEEN DELETED? i can’t recover password, can’t login, …
me too.
What the fuck is going on with these guys?
sorry, missed the reply button
nevermind, i found the error ‘-‘ , sorry.
Can we have some explanation as to the inaccessibility of provisioned vps?
So I can see my VPS has been provisioned, but its not terribly useful if i cannot access it.
Not a great start. Anyone else having issues accessing their consoles? I keep getting a VNC error. I also keep not getting a response from support.
how i can install windows on 512KVM?
512MB isn’t enough for windows, I believe it needs 1GB minimum.
I had a VPS with W2008, and wore only 420 with several programs open
Was provisioned, but can’t access it.
SSH on their Ubuntu and Fedora images only allow pubkey auth—which you aren’t likely to be able to use, until after an initial login. The root password they’ve sent in my email doesn’t let me in: I just keep getting “Permission denied” messages from SSH (when using the CentOS image). The VNC applet on their dashboard uses mixed content (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Security/MixedContent), which my Firefox doesn’t allow by default. But even allowing it (through about:config) doesn’t help much, as the root password they sent isn’t accepted. Also, trying to re-set the root password throws a NotImplemented error (at least it did for my instance, which currently has their CentOS image).
Have no clue what the “Rescue” mode does, but applying it to my instance did nothing to help; I can use the console to connect to it, but it doesn’t seem as though it finishes booting (it keeps complaining about not being able to access a public key from instance metadata, freezing about halfway through its attempts).
(Correction: The Fedora image has publickey, gssapi-keyex, and gssapi-with-mic auth methods enabled for its SSH server. Still, it excludes “password”, which is what I need right now).
Just finished trying to connect to my instance using their OOB console, after rebuilding with their Ubuntu and Fedora images. The console is able to display the terminal, I just can’t interact with it (unlike when my instance has CentOS on it). Firefox complains about not being able to establish a WebSocket connection to port 17523. Maybe the stock firewalls have those blocked by default?
Neil, did you try logging in with the root password before installing as CentOS?
We are working on CentOS 6.5 and it will be ready shortly.
Yes, I did. If I remember correctly, it originally had Ubuntu (because it allowed only pubkey auth).
How about windows iso?
My VPS was provisioned on 31 Dec, 3 days after my order was placed on the 28th. Which is pretty reasonable considering it is the festive season.
After using it for a few hours (setting up, mostly) I’m quite satisfied I suppose. First impression is good; the VPS is responsive and seems to have a good connection (even though I live halfway around the world from it). I can’t really comment on anything else right now, but I’d say it seems pretty good (compared to some other providers I’ve used).
very surprised, that someone got his VPS
Just reporting on my experience armorshark: Ordered a VPS from them two weeks ago, at first it worked ok, but now it went down 14 hours ago and is still down. Submitted a ticket to the provider, no response so far. I don’t know how typical it is with the low end box providers, but such a long down time is kinda lame. I guess you get what you pay for. HTH.
A lot of LEB providers are actually very reliable… ArmorShark seems to not be one of them unfortunately. The support is extremely slow! Still waiting for reply to my ticket from 3 days ago…
No further response from their team (aside from the “Did you try logging in” question here from Richard).
Opened a ticket asking for cancellation and a refund a couple of days ago. No reply, no refund.
I think we are all in the same boat unfortunately :(
Ordered VPS and was not set up within 24 hours. After that, I received an email saying it has been activated but there was no evidence of anything being set up in the control panel. I kindly put in a ticket request for a refund (needs to be in the first 72 hours) and have since attempted to contact them on four occasions and have not received a refund or ANY contact from them. Good bye.
does anyone know – these amateurs will return the money?
Even being in the business 15 years, I forget sometimes to read the comments before I jump on an offer, and … looks like I ran into the same issue as everyone else. Setup email has no IP, and although I can access the instance through console, the root password doesn’t work. Now, I went back to file a support ticket and BAM, I can’t login and password recovery doesn’t recognize my email. Sigh. Feels like a straight up scam, unfortunately.
check your account here: http://www.armorshark.com/billing/?cmd=clientarea
Although I was able to finally get in, now the VPS is down, and the website has been throwing API errors all day yesterday and today. If I try to get to the VPS control panel, I get “This webpage has a redirect loop”, and no response on my ticket. I’ll take a refund at this point … filing that ticket, if the site will let me.
Not to alarm you, but I’ve been waiting for a reply to my refund request ticket for a week now… :| Opened a PayPal dispute, nothing yet!
Looks like my VPS is down. No response from Armorshark yet. Very poor customer service.
Anybody have any luck getting their money back?
Same thing. Didn’t get my VPS. No response from Armorshark. No luck with promised money back. Filed dispute with PayPal. Waiting to hear from them. Stay away from the deal.
VPS is down, same as the others. Seems like it has been down for a day now.
I have requested a refund and have opened a PayPal dispute.
Anyone managed to get a refund? or an update?
Paypal dispute is rolling over from ‘Awaiting other party’s response’ in 2 days, and then paypal will look into it. Hopefully then something will happen.
Looks like he is just being an asshole and not responding so it takes longer.
thanks paypal returned the money
ArmorShark very bad service provider, there is no interaction with the user
PayPal also ruled in my favor and approved my claim… got my money back!
Finally got a refund from Paypal. I don’t know how this Richard Leik guy managed to get this deal posted on lowend box. Complete time waster. What a loser.
I am not contesting any of these disputes, so they are going straight to you. I’m not here to take your money. One employee could not do his job correctly, and he’s now been cut. Our service is working 100% now.
No idea about this employee or anything else.
However the service has been provisioned, after my receiving a refund so that I can trial and and decide if I want to keep it.
An amazing show of good will I think. Will see how it goes.
Only one core of the four promised provisioned :/
Hi Radicalman,
May you please contact me directly about your issue at admin@armorshark.com?
Will Remote Desktop Work on 512mb ram ?
I would suggest at least 1GB.
Richard,
You didnt contest, paypal wont refund from virtual goods. I am rather frustrated, as I have requested cancellation of the VPS several times, and no response or refund. You took a month to provision, by which time i had no need of your service. Why do you not respond to refund requests?
You have been refunded.
It took a while, but PayPal refunded my money this morning. Although it’s true PayPal doesn’t refund for virtual goods, I simply did not state it was a virtual good. The seller never even bothered to answer the case, requiring it to be escalated, and then just sit and wait, but the important thing is, I *did* get a refund, like many in this thread.
First, I bought a vps because the website design looks like a nice company.
The truth: low low low service, no email information. no support, no reply.
My suggestion: Do buy this vps. I hope I can refund from Paypal.
We don’t have anyone in our system with your name. There are multiple emails to reach us at, including admin@armorshark.com.
If you can cite a ticket ID I can help you further.
I’m definitely interested. Looking at the PHO 2048 plan, is it a typo that the price is $14 monthly, but $140 semi-annually? Or is this the actual price model? It would be nice if that can be fixed.
Also, how would you compare yourself to Digital Ocean? I was looking for a VPS service to try my hands on Ubuntu with Nginx and HHVM (Hip Hop Virtual Machine by Facebook). The prices are so good, and so I’m wondering at the differences between both platforms.
