Uh oh! Something went wrong …
Our billing system encountered an temporary error .
Please try to perform last action again. If error persists let us know, we will do our best to fix it.

When i tried to raise a ticket to let you know, got this

There is no active support departments at the moment

Lucky that this did not happen after making the payment, with no other way to contact i would have been really worried

Nah, if you failed to accomplish your 100% uptime guarantee, the customer is not allowed to ask for any compensation as according to S4.8? I can’t see a legal SLA agreement being established.

      • mana:

That has no bearing on my original question. However, should it ever go down for even a minute, it’s false advertisement. Once that happens, it’s no longer 100% uptime guaranteed.

Buyer beware: The panel is not working yet and the VPS is unusable until they fix it! I bought the 1GB plan yesterday and I’ve yet to access my VPS. The information e-mail I received was empty and when I contacted support, they gave me the IP of the VPS so I can log via SSH. The problem: the VPS is not running and the only way to start it is via the panel, which is not functional as they are still working on the interaction of the panel with the node…

  30. Neil S.:

Was provisioned, but can’t access it.

SSH on their Ubuntu and Fedora images only allow pubkey auth—which you aren’t likely to be able to use, until after an initial login. The root password they’ve sent in my email doesn’t let me in: I just keep getting “Permission denied” messages from SSH (when using the CentOS image). The VNC applet on their dashboard uses mixed content (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Security/MixedContent), which my Firefox doesn’t allow by default. But even allowing it (through about:config) doesn’t help much, as the root password they sent isn’t accepted. Also, trying to re-set the root password throws a NotImplemented error (at least it did for my instance, which currently has their CentOS image).

Have no clue what the “Rescue” mode does, but applying it to my instance did nothing to help; I can use the console to connect to it, but it doesn’t seem as though it finishes booting (it keeps complaining about not being able to access a public key from instance metadata, freezing about halfway through its attempts).

    December 31, 2013 @ 1:55 pm | Reply
    • Neil S.:

(Correction: The Fedora image has publickey, gssapi-keyex, and gssapi-with-mic auth methods enabled for its SSH server. Still, it excludes “password”, which is what I need right now).

Just finished trying to connect to my instance using their OOB console, after rebuilding with their Ubuntu and Fedora images. The console is able to display the terminal, I just can’t interact with it (unlike when my instance has CentOS on it). Firefox complains about not being able to establish a WebSocket connection to port 17523. Maybe the stock firewalls have those blocked by default?

My VPS was provisioned on 31 Dec, 3 days after my order was placed on the 28th. Which is pretty reasonable considering it is the festive season.

After using it for a few hours (setting up, mostly) I’m quite satisfied I suppose. First impression is good; the VPS is responsive and seems to have a good connection (even though I live halfway around the world from it). I can’t really comment on anything else right now, but I’d say it seems pretty good (compared to some other providers I’ve used).

Setup email has no IP, and although I can access the instance through console, the root password doesn’t work. Now, I went back to file a support ticket and BAM, I can’t login and password recovery doesn’t recognize my email. Sigh. Feels like a straight up scam, unfortunately.

Paypal dispute is rolling over from ‘Awaiting other party’s response’ in 2 days, and then paypal will look into it. Hopefully then something will happen.

Looks like he is just being an asshole and not responding so it takes longer.

Finally got a refund from Paypal. I don’t know how this Richard Leik guy managed to get this deal posted on lowend box. Complete time waster. What a loser.

  44. I am not contesting any of these disputes, so they are going straight to you. I’m not here to take your money. One employee could not do his job correctly, and he’s now been cut. Our service is working 100% now.

No idea about this employee or anything else.

However the service has been provisioned, after my receiving a refund so that I can trial and and decide if I want to keep it.

An amazing show of good will I think. Will see how it goes.

    Richard,

You didnt contest, paypal wont refund from virtual goods. I am rather frustrated, as I have requested cancellation of the VPS several times, and no response or refund. You took a month to provision, by which time i had no need of your service. Why do you not respond to refund requests?

  47. It took a while, but PayPal refunded my money this morning. Although it’s true PayPal doesn’t refund for virtual goods, I simply did not state it was a virtual good. The seller never even bothered to answer the case, requiring it to be escalated, and then just sit and wait, but the important thing is, I *did* get a refund, like many in this thread.

First, I bought a vps because the website design looks like a nice company.

The truth: low low low service, no email information. no support, no reply.

My suggestion: Do buy this vps. I hope I can refund from Paypal.

  49. I’m definitely interested. Looking at the PHO 2048 plan, is it a typo that the price is $14 monthly, but $140 semi-annually? Or is this the actual price model? It would be nice if that can be fixed.

Also, how would you compare yourself to Digital Ocean? I was looking for a VPS service to try my hands on Ubuntu with Nginx and HHVM (Hip Hop Virtual Machine by Facebook). The prices are so good, and so I’m wondering at the differences between both platforms.
