Via this WHT offer. HazeNet is currently running a launch special — 50% off recurring discount with coupon code HAZELAUNCH. That means you can get the following virtual server package for $7/month.
- 1GB guaranteed/2GB burstable memory
- 40GB storage
- 5Mbps unmetered bandwidth
- OpenVZ/SolusVM
That’s a lot of memory for the price you pay. 1 gigabytes — I actually have never owned a VPS with that much memory, and I have been with 20+ different providers for the last 3-4 years hosting various projects. Servers are with Wholesale Internet in Kansas City.
Domain has only been registered since March this year — well we do have a “launch” special here.

The plan with 1GB guaranteed RAM, with Cent OS 32-bit, UnixBench 5.12:
I have this VPS for about two weeks now. Although I set it up and haven’t touch it. It’s fairly stable. I have it under Nagios and other various monitorings… it did randomly rebooted yesterday though. Since it’s not production, I’m not too worrying about it.
Yes, you do get a lot for the money. Have yet to contact support, so not sure how good their support are.
Whats the Node specs?
From the bench up there you can see the servers are Q9550’s, Most likely 8GB RAM (Could be less) not sure. couldn’t say about the hard drives, Most likely Duals in RAID 1.
They also offer $3/mo 512MB plan. (The cheapest 512MB plan in the world?)
http://hazenet.co.uk/vps.html
Hey,
Owner of HazeNET here. 123Systems – Andrew was right on the money, we use Core2Quads (You wont always get a q9550, but a similar Core2Quad CPU), that carry 8GB RAM each (max supported by that CPU), hard drives are dual 500GBs in RAID 1.
We are currently out of stock, but we are getting in an i7 920 and an 8 core Xeon very soon. Keep an eye on the site.
Any questions, email us at: support@hazenet.co.uk
Or submit a ticket at our website.
Allow Shoutcast Server?
Yep, shoutcast is allowed as per our terms of service at: http://hazenet.co.uk/tos.html But we don’t any stock right now.
We have setup a mailing list at: http://hazenet.co.uk/list/?p=subscribe&id=1 We will notify you as soon as new stock is available.
HazeNet is superb. I have been with them for 2 weeks now.
Support is awesome. Colin replies to my tickets within 15min no matter what time I create these tickets.
My node is Q9400, if you are interested in the hardware.
@hazenet
How can you make money from this super duper cheap VPS?
It’s a struggle right now, but we are still in our ‘launch’ stage, so these prices aren’t going to be this low for very much longer. We aren’t expecting to make any profit (or even break even) for a few months. We’re just trying to build up a decent client base, and a positive presence in the market for now. Profit our main aim.
* Profit isn’t our main aim.
lol, You got me thinking there for a moment with “profit our main aim” typo. I was thinking HOW with these LOW PRICES :P
Profit is everyones main aim isnt it :D
Hey now I get the 1G VPS@8.4 pm
Would have liked to try out this deal, but the central backup for solusvm is not enabled.. also now I see on the website that the price is starting to increase, but I think you get 4 cores now instead of two
@KLIKLI Its because these are i7 @ $8.4
$7 are Core2Quads and they have ran out.
Personally, I believe i7 @ $8.4 is worth the price
Are they in the same location? Whats the setup time?
I just ordered a VPS. I’ve got most of my sites on shared hosting with Webfaction (they’ve been good to me), but I need a VPS for a separate project. The checkout was super fast and easy, and the control panel seems great. I hope that HazeNet is around for awhile. It’s encouraging to see that the CEO has been on WHT for a couple of years as an active poster.
Yeah you will get 4 cores, and a 50mbit bandwidth speed option. The i7 is located in Seattle, WA. Setup is instant. We now have available stock!
i registered with your plan
and now i got to know you are a Sentris Network LLC reseller
WHOIS Information
Sentris Network LLC SPECTRUM-SEA-SENTRIS-LEVEL3-BLOCK-3 (NET-76-191-104-0-1)
76.191.104.0 – 76.191.104.255
We have 1 server based there. If you don’t like it, we can move you to another server or give you a refund.
@Sanjay
What makes you think they are a reseller?
@Sanjay — being on the netblock does not mean that it’s a reseller of the service. Their new servers might be with Sentris but the spec of plans are no way similar to Sentris/RentVPS’s plans.
@LowEndAdmin thanks for guiding me
Just bought 1G VPS several days ago, been caange the ip address twice, now have idea why my vps go offline, can not reboot via web interface, still this provider getting stable, or I will nerver move my production site their.
correct the wrong typing. Sorry
Just bought 1G VPS several days ago, been change the ip address twice, now have no idea why my vps goes offline, even not able to reboot via web interface, still wait this provider getting stable, or I will nerver move my production site to this vps.
@Terry I am also a customer and found Colin, the CEO, to be very helpful. Did you created a ticket about this issue? I think you should and Colin would sort this out
We’re having a severe problem with one of our upstream dedicated providers. We are working hard to get this solved, we will be offering a % refund as per our SLA at http://hazenet.co.uk/vps.html
Again, we apoligise for this and ask that you bear with us until everything is sorted out.
* http://hazenet.co.uk/tos.html
For our SLA
control panel not working again
and plzzz
dont say it is problem with my internet connection
coz i am posting this from the same connection
We aren’t going to say its a fault at your end, we are aware of the problem, and have got a tech at the DC inspecting the server right now.
when r u going to able to stable enough so that i may be able to move my production site to ur vps
havent u done some sort of beta testing u should have come prepared
or could you plzzzzzzz
move me to some other node
Well, we are going to scrap this server, because having 2 downtimes in a day isn’t good at all.
Submit a support ticket for that.
its still down
@Colin
not looking good so far :( i was considering signing up :)
its just a startup and he seems to be a good guy
hey man i am with u just do something soon
The servers already back online, and the cooling system has been altered (they thought the server may be overheating).
@Daniel well I have been with HazeNet since more then two weeks now and not a single issue. Its worth the price. You should consider signing up, at least he is here and replying not saying things like “how much did you pay for” (like another provider here on LEB said earlier). Plus he can refund you if things are not well.
* I hope LEA does not give me a yellow card again :( *
ya thats the same thing i am with him
i was earlier with enotch
and whenever there was a downtime i asked them about it
those people at enotch always replied there are no such issues
atleast he admits whats the prob is
sign to what ever u like just skip enotch
@Asim
Yes it is good he is replying and not coming out with some crazy lies.
Thanks for the support. Our biggest priority is to keep our clients happy, so you’ll be getting no lies from us. It’s all honest business. But, Im not proud of my service right now, 2 downtimes in a day (even if it is just 1 server causing a problem). You can be sure I’m working hard to make sure everything is 100% stable. Been in the market for a few years, so I know how annoying it is to hear a provider blame the customers, or run with the “you get what you pay for” excuse. And it’s very enlightening when we have customers as great and patient as you guys are! Again, thanks! Much appreciated.
@colin
I hope your kind support will not end after you have much customer or your company become big
hey my vps is down again
its being near about 12 hours or may be more
my vps is down
Have you opened a support ticket?
We’re migrating all the VPS’s over to a new node on a different network. Service will be flakey for a few hours, but everything should be complete soon.
my vps down more than 12 hours
Everything has been online for hours. And we have migrated all VPS’s over to a new server, did you not get the email?
The Terms Of Service are scary :
Any content you upload/put onto HazeNET servers becomes property of HazeNET. We reserve the right to make copies of your data, whether it be for transfer, or backups. (Note: This clause may sound a bit dodgy, but we need to to prevent people from claiming we are illegally hosting their content, or making copies of it)
I know, it’s because in the past we have seen some crazy people that have threatened to sue because we have withheld data (suspended), or if we have charged for a backup if a service has been suspended/terminated, they claim we are selling their own copyrighted content, which is illegal.
We have no malicious intentions though, it’s just for our own safety.
That seams illegal to me…
Just Curious: why a .co.uk domain? :)
Were based in the UK.
@Colin
Do you not have any UK Nodes?
Not yet, currently the US is a lot cheaper.
Been with HazeNET for almost 2 weeks now. I highly recommend them. Service has been excellent, I couldn’t ask for anything better.
@Colin:thanks for the answer :)
Do you have a date of expiration of this offer?
Hi,
It looks like the 512 Plan (512 Mb of RAM) for $3.6 after a 40% discount is not available anymore. When trying to order it, I am redirected to the 1024 Plan (1 GB or RAM for 2x the price).
Any chance it would come back?
Good luck with the venture.
We don’t have an exact date.
We don’t like to sell to many 512MB VPS’s to lighten the CPU load on the server. We would much rather have 16x1GBs or 8x2GBs than 32x512MBs on a 16GB server. We do enable stock on the 512MB plans whenever we get a new server, but stock goes very fast.
@colin: the homepage no on-line support? a little hard to check on-time.
does any one try vpn with tun/tap here ?
pls let me know
Hopefully this forum can handle negative as well as positive feedback regarding this provider.
The actual service provided by HazeNET is good when it is running. As anyone involved in any type of internet service is aware, however, service that runs reliably is a critical part of the equation. Our company signed up for service with HazeNET and within a few weeks experienced our first downtime. We were not notified of the downtime by HazeNET, submitted a ticket, and suffered as we got very little feedback on the status of the repair. When we asked the company what the issue was, they reported that it was “We had arranged a small network maintenance work on the VZ12 node for the efficiency,” but did not explain how their “small network maintenance” needed to result in unannounced downtime for 6 hours.
The real issue, however, was as described in a separate support request:
* On October 8, we received a bill for the Octobber 16-November 15 billing cycle.
* We paid this bill using PayPal on October 14.
* On October 16 (a Saturday), we received a first past due notice.
* On October 18 (a Monday) we responded to the past due notice.
– We requested that you provide a phone number or contact us over the phone to resolve.
– Your support team escalated the issue.
* Around midnight on October 19, the VPS service was shut down.
* At around 8:00AM, we submitted a request to have the service turned back on, stating for a second time that the bill was already paid.
– Again we requested a phone contact to resolve the issue.
* We received numerous responses stating something to the effect of “we are looking into it,” “please hold on,” or “our management will get back to you.”
* At around 2:00PM, 6 hours after our second ticket, 14 hours after the server was taken offline, a day after our first ticket, and a good 6 days after we had sent the payment, you turned our services back online.
This company seems to be very well acquainted with their own (rather broken) automated systems, but fails miserably when it comes to client communication. Additionally, my recommendation would be to carefully consider how valuable your site uptime is when signing on with this provider.
@Ray
Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. I highly doubt it’s yet another one man business from the first look at its website. I did check back their websites for times and bugs / typos / broken links still there for over months. Anyway you have no choice right now, and hopefully you will get the best results. Good luck with them.
I wrote elsewhere and I am writing here as well. STAY AWAY FROM HAZENET. My website has been down for 4 days with only one general email with a pathetic explanation (that was 3 days ago). No follow up after that. NONE. I can’t wait for the server to be back up, retrieve my folders and get the heck out of there. Cheap, yeah, crappy service, definitely. Colin (apparently the CEO) decides to or not to reply you when he feels like it.
If you’ve ever sent a support ticket and the last line in their reply was ‘lifting to uppper management for further action’, basically what they’re saying is, nothing’s gonna happen.
Do NOT join HazeNET!
I have been waiting for my server to come back online for 2 weeks now! There was an outage that caused a lot of servers to go down, once they go down they don’t seem to come back up till your support tickets get through.
I just want to get my information off the server so I can move it to a new VPS. I’ve even paid another month hoping that they’ll answer my support tickets.
My server went down around Jan10th or 11th. Its’ now the 22nd of January and still no reply. My server is still down, no one is answering my tickets. I can tell you, they’re cheap, and along with that expectedly, they’re DEAD LOUSY.
STAY AWAY
Hey Guys My Server Is Down it Went Down Last Week I have Had A Ticket In For About A Month Recrading This And My VPS Control Panel
I’d agree with these last few posters. My site has been down for several days… I’ve started several support tickets and am not even getting a response. These guys were great a few months ago but something has changed and this has turned into a nightmare. I think they got too big for their own good. Needless to say I will be cancelling if it is not back up soon.
Indeed. I was with them for 7 months without any problems. My VPS has been down for around 3 days now. I submitted a ticket 3 days ago too, and no reply. I’m requesting a full refund for the month and cancelling tommorow.
I’ve had HazeNet for a while now, it’s wonderful for great VPS’ for really low monthly costs. The only downside is quite recently they have been offline for a while. Their website and everything is down. Wish I knew what was going on :P
Yeah, it was great while it lasted. The website is working fine for me, but all the servers are down. Check this if you can access it: http://hazenet.co.uk/status.php
Only 2 servers up are the SolusVM server and main website.
The domain name is no longer resolving. Try to use the IP address and it is still working:
http://98.142.215.155/status.php
Only one server is up all the OpenVZ boxes are down.
I Bought a 1024mb Unmetered Plan VPS on the 27/2/11 and its been 14 days and i still havent got it active, No response to any tickets as of today and ive sent in my first email now. im hopefull that the email will work if nothing else. But if i get charged for a 2nd month without even having it active. i will demand a refund off HazeNET.
Any Suggestions on what i should do?
Colin did a runner. You have no chance of getting a refund from him.
This is info i aint heard yet, Where did you get this info from? On second though he hasnt been on msn for quite abit.
Isn’t it obvious? Every server is down, he hasn’t been on WHT in weeks, no response to support tickets and no response to emails.
No Its not, He could be ill or be away or even a family emergency we just dont know so its best not to make them sorts of comments
Colin is not ill nor is he away, He is very much active and knows what is going on. Hazenet’s paypal account was limited due to multiple (Multiple,Multiple) Paypal disputes/chargebacks. Therefore they have no way to pay their upstream providers. Data will be lost once their upstream’s patience runs out so if your wanting to keep your data in-tact making a backup now would be a wise choice if your server is still online.
I will not disclose how this information was received but I have confirmed it is legitimate information although it is ultimately your choice to believe it or not, But considering the circumstances you should all take your backups when you can either way.
-Andrew
@Daniel Meah
Companies don’t die because the CEO takes ill.
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1016788 People are getting money back via PayPal disputes, it’s a clear runner when PayPal refunds on services.
Far from clear i think its a 50/50 chance. it often depends on how you open the dispute (options etc)
@Steve
I know that. But he might be the only person that has access to company accounts/paypal’s etc
I suppose so..
Recieved an email from Hazenet earlier. Looks like Rus Foster is taking over business.
KLIKLI posted the email content here.
I just wanted to clear thing up, as I was not monitoring this thread back in 2011 for obvious reasons. I am aware my response is long overdue, and I do apologize for that.
I did not do a runner with business, I can explain fully what caused this business to go under.
Our primary provider (Hostdime) had a major power outage, currently I cannot fully recall the details, however if you do a bit if digging you will find a few threads on WHT regarding this. During this time, almost every customer submitted a ticket, which blew up the support queue. When the servers finally came back up, a lot of the kernels were incorrectly configured or corrupt. I attempted to work with Hostdime to resolve this issue, but across 30 or so servers, it took quite a bit of time. During that time, more and more tickets came in, which is what caused the 900+ ticket queue information released by Rus Foster.
An ex employee, who ironically has commented on this thread “123Systems-Andrew” immediately left the company with absolutely no notice, and ignored/blocked all contact from me.
http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/hazenet-openvz-vps/#comment-24262
> “I will not disclose how this information was received but I have confirmed it is legitimate” – That would be because he was an ex employee. What he said was correct, but to post publicly about this, in my opining is very seriously morally wrong. And I (and others) have believed he is a very sneaky character.
Due to the downtime, and being in the budget industry, the chargebacks started to come in. I confirmed them all, and refunded every single one. Paypal then decided to freeze my account – meaning I could not send or receive payments. At this point, I de-activated the automated suspensions/terminations feature in WHMCS, so no one would lose their data due to this issue.
I spent hours on the phone to Paypal, and countless back and forths with them trying to explain the situation – with no luck. The only option I had was to send refunds. Rus refused to handle refunds from my account while he was in control of Hazenet billing system, as it would have interfered with their books/tax records.
This was a hurdle for me, but I refunded absolutely anyone who requested a chargeback/dispute via paypal – and anyone who contacted me personally for a refund. There were 5 figures frozen in my paypal account (which were meant to go towards my upstream providers), and I did not want to leave anyone out of pocket with this. As far as I know, everyone who wanted a refund got it via my authorization.
The servers were never suspended as I maintained a good relationship with my upstream providers, and no data was lost in the transition.
Again, I would like to re-iterate what I said about Andrew from 123-systems. He worked for me, as soon as the work got hard, he went around bad mouthing the company, causing escalating speculation that I had left this company. My personal opinion is that he did this for his own benefit, if people see a competitor with a “legitimate source” releasing information about another company, customers will get an inkling to go to him. Which is something to this day I am frustrated about, as I feel horribly betrayed.
Again, I do sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused for my previous customers – And I do hope everything did work out for everyone in the end.
Good ol’ hostdime.
Dicking left and right.
