LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

2gbvps.com - $7 2GB OpenVZ VPS in UK/FR/DE/CH & US

Joshua, from 2gbvps.com, is back with another deal for LowEndBox readers, which is the same offer as last time. The only difference now is that it is also available in Switzerland.

AYVR 2GB

  • 2048MB RAM
  • 1 vCPU Core
  • 60GB Raid 10 Disk space
  • 1000GB Bandwidth
  • 1Gbps Port speed
  • 1 IPv4 Address
  • OpenVZ/SolusVM
  • Promotion Code: leb002
  • $7.00 /Month | Order Link

2gbvps.com have been featured on LowEndBox once before. As we mentioned last time, the firm is solely focused on providing 2GB VPS plans which have became very popular lately. They’re using servers with at least 32GB RAM and a mix of the E3-1230v2, i7-2600, E5-1620 and Xeon 2603 CPU. They’re using: OVH France, Hetzner Germany, Redstation UK, Psychz USA and PrivateLayer Switzerland. Reviews posted on their last offer were all great. If you’re a customer, leave a review below.

2GBVPS are an Australian PTY LTD registered company (ACN 159 993 987). They accept payment via Paypal. They provide a “Fair use 7 day refund” basically they will refund you if you haven’t used all the bandwidth etc. I’ve had a quick look at their terms, basically don’t host anything illegal and don’t abuse the server or network. You may want to read their very short Terms of Service / Acceptable Usage Policy for yourself.

  16. Justin:

Possible to clarify a bit on the AUP in terms of fair-use of resources? Eg, what’s the hard thresholds that you guys have set for sustained and bursted Disk and CPU usage?

    – Abuse of the server or network (examples would include exceeding “**CPU limits**”, using more than 500Mbit for 12 hours, exceeding allowed RAM limit)
    – Full usage of disk and “**fair use IO resources**”
    – “**Fair use of the VPS in general.**” Use your brains folks, if it seems more than fair use, you probably shouldn’t do it.

If there isn’t a hard limit inplace … Then for example, are we allowed to host something like a Minecraft or Terraria server?

*The above two titles being considered objectionable by many VPS hosts.
—-Terraria for its high CPU load (fluid mechanics), and Minecraft for its heavy disk usage.

    August 11, 2013 @ 12:11 am | Reply
    • MC/terraria hosting is fine in general, it will only be a problem if we see too much sustained usage from too many people on a node. So far it has been fine though!

Right! At first, you can choose it, but once the first vps is setup and running, there is an option in the control panel to change de distro.

However, beware when upgrading to debian testing… something broke and I had to reinstall again. Looks like openvz/whatever is not very debian friendly…

Unexpectedly received full refund 13 hours after the purchase. The reason is: “maxmind fraud was too high”. I used my paypal account to which my debit card is attached (my real name was used everywhere). Because the month payment is less than $10 my bank wants to turn off the cvv code check before the purchase. This was regarded as a fraud! Great service!

    August 23, 2013 @ 9:04 am | Reply
    • Anatoliy:

Update: The real reason was that MaxMind tied my IP address to the city, where my Internet provider resides, which is around 150 km away from where I am.

      August 23, 2013 @ 3:39 pm | Reply
      • As I said in emails to you, we’re sorry this has happened but we need to adhere to our policies regarding fraud, or potential fraud.

We can only continue to offer such a good deal by keeping fraud at a minimum, and we do agree it sucks some legit customers are hurt, but such is the nature of this business :(

        Sorry again!!!

        • Anatoliy:

I’d like to add that another provider resolve the same issue with MaxMind in 15 minutes. It’s not a client’s problem that your fraud detection service doesn’t work properly. Anyway, good luck.

          August 24, 2013 @ 11:37 am | Reply
        • True it isn’t a clients problem, but it isn’t not working properly it is doing its job. Whether or not you are a fraud customer is besides the point, MaxMind believed you were a certain risk, and we decided not to service you as a result.

If another provider accepted you then they made the decision the risk was worth it, we decided otherwise.

    • What node are you on? One of them was ordered with the wrong CPU, it has only half the CPU power it should. We’re planning to upgrade that one when the host has an identical box to switch over to (with the 2nd CPU).

I’m on CH, don’t know what node.
        My ip is 185.12.45.68

Also, why is this ping so strange? What are these domains?

        • Ah yes, that node is the one missing the 2nd CPU. Upgrade should happen sometime this month with new-years stock.

I don’t know what is up with those pings, I don’t see that from any of the servers I ping to, very strange!

            Yeeeah!
            Will there be any downtime?

          • Yep, they’ll need to insert the 2nd CPU. But I Should be able to do a suspend of the VPS, so shouldnt actually be a reboot per se.

    Hi,

Josh provides an excellent service and I have had multiple VPS with John and he is the real deal!

I would highly recommended Josh and the service’s he offers are more than affordable even at full price.

Support is outstanding and he is always happy to help, even if I’m having problems with nothing VPS realted.

Keep up the good work, I’ll be purchasing many more in the future.

    Thanks,
    Anthony
