Now for the factoids, BlueVM.Com was registered in May 2011 and is managed by a two-man team consisting of Justin and Arsene. Their nodes are currently located in Pennsylvania USA (Test IP: 199.19.106.155) and they are looking to expand to the West Coast over the next month. Being their first listing on LowEndBox it would be great to see some network benchmarks out of PA. As always with a new provider, exercise some caution on signup and keep to month by month payments until they’ve built a solid reputation.

    • Either my eyesight is gone, or there’s a parallel reality as I’m sure the 25% first month promo worked when we first tested it two days ago when the offer came through.

      The double deal still remains though, so if you can afford to spend $0.37c extra on the first month then signup.

      I have sent an email to BlueVM to check their signup in case they need to re-enable the promo code for the 25% off.

  13. @The Hatta – If you opened a ticket we’ve responded with this: If your VPS isn’t setup within 12 hours of our reply we will credit your VPS for 2 days. You shouldn’t have to wait longer than 24 hours.

    We apologize for the delay, but 100 VPS is way more than we expected to sell with this offer. Rather than overextend ourselves we’ve capped our stock out. We have a total of 9 VPS without IPs at the moment, so we should get that resolved shortly. Once we’re able to we’ll reopen sales.

    So far so good. I was one of the customers effected by the lack of IP addresses, but it seems they were overwhelmed yesterday for some reason :D

    Anyone complaining about speed and such should probably try again. I imagine provisioning a hundred or so VPS’s in the same 12 hour period may have slowed things down a bit.

    My issue with the IP was taken care of promptly and they offered compensation and an apology for time it took to provision the rest of my VPS. Communication was great after the initial rush.

    And a speed test (I’m on a 10mbit port, haven’t upgraded, I don’t need it):

    @Amit Jha – To use your server to host websites with your own nameservers you need to setup a DNS system such as bind. Once it is setup point the NS to the IPs and apply the domains. Hopefully this helps solve your problem.

    Managed to order one over night – stock didn’t last long of course :-)

    Immediate setup (something like 3min), by default comes up as CentOS but can be quickly reinstalled to any other flavor offered. Also not many providers have Debian 6 at all, not to mention both 32/64-bit.
    Will leave more feedback once I have properly tested it but for now, thumbs up!

    I have 64/128 old ones for 1.5 $ and I am happy with it.
    I use it to teach someone Linux and it is perfect for that.
    I had some memory problems, but i think 192 burstable is really enough, but I manage in 128 all i need with a bit a fidling around or by using the Kloxo image whcih comes preinstalled with everything.
    It is a responsive VM, I like it a lot.

    So far my first VPS experience. Ordered last night and it was setup pretty quick. Reloaded Ubuntu 11.04 on my server and it didn’t appear to take too long. Installing packages does take a long time but that might be normal for all I know. I will say that I can’t access cPanel, the http://www.bluevm.com website or SSH into my VPS right now so there does appear to be downtime. Hope it is just a temporary thing. Other than that you seem to get a lot of specs for the money compared to some of the other deals (get what you pay for?)

      So, I was unaware of the shady past of BlueVM’s owner, Justin. Lots of failed past enterprises, no communication and unhappy customers. Although I just ordered the VPS last night, the presence of downtime already for me (and for others in this thread) makes me think I will be asking for a refund. Next I am going to try SecureDragon, Hostigation and BuyVM (if I can sneak into some stock via IRC or something). I’ll let you guys know my results.

    @BlueVM – i can’t order. After i click the Order link and fillup the hostname etc. I click on the Add to Cart button, it doesn’t add to cart but loads cart.php .
    I tried many times since yesterday, where are things going wrong?

    Today from 2:00 - 4:00 PM PST we will be preforming some maintanance on our California nodes. During this time you may expeirience outages on those servers. In addition after the maintanance we will be issuing new IP addresses to our clients. Here is the general layout of how it will work:
    
     
    
    If your IP currently begins with: 205.134.228.XXX
    
    Your IP will change to begin with: 173.254.236.XXX
    
     
    
    The last three digits of your IP address will not change. Why are we swapping IPs and moving our nodes around? We had an increase in demand far beyond what we expected and rather than oversell we opted to change how we offer our services. The hardware will be exactly the same as it is now, but we'll have access to a larger volume of it, in addition our servers will be on a better network setup.

  73. Our server move was actually just moving our physical box inside of the datacenter so that all of our nodes would have more concurrent out bound connections, better support and higher uptime. In all honesty our cost per node actually went up slightly, but we feel the increased cost is worth the advantages it will provide over time. We should be releasing a new special shortly.

Now Problem is i’m from india n i do not have credit card service to pay on paypal or either Google pay . Help me out in this ..

    I’m expecting lot more with bluevm.

    In Next setup i’d like to appoint someone who can guide me right from installation til i host couple of websites and I’ll pay for your time. Hope any1 from india can guide me better.

    Yesterday around 4:00 PM MST one of the servers in our Illinois datacenter was compromised. This compromise lead to the loss of data on that server along with all backups and data associated with it. That data was unrecoverable and thus roughly 30 of our clients VPS are currently offline. We have no reason to believe that the data on that server was stolen by a third party. We have determined the cause of the incident to be due to an exploit carried out against our VPN services on that node. We have shut down all of our VPN services on our other nodes to prevent this incident from happening again and have changed all of our root passwords, control panel passwords and administrator logins. Clients who run a VPN on their VPS will not be affected by our shutdown of those services.
    
     
    
    We are offering those clients who were/are affected by this compromise. As such we are offering our clients affected by this data loss their choice of:
    
     
    
    1. Three (3) months of services on a different node of their choice with the plan they currently have now.
    
    or
    
    2. A full refund for this month's services.
    
     
    
    To request either of these two options simply open a new ticket with us and we will help you come up with a solution to get you back online as quickly and easily as possible.
    
     
    
    In addition we are taking steps to prevent our clients from experiencing data loss again, thus starting immediately we will be offering 10 GB of free backup space with FTP, control panel and mysql access to all of our clients upon request. We feel that this change will prevent our clients from experiencing a loss of data due to hacking in the future and we are committed to helping to resolve any issues caused by this outage to the best of our ability.
