ChicagoVPS – $60/Year 512MB Xen VPS Exclusive Offer

Tags: , , , Date/Time: November 13, 2010 @ 12:19 pm, by LowEndAdmin

ChicagoVPS Chris from ChicagoVPS emailed me an update on their previous exclusive offer. The same 2 Xen VPS packages, but the highlight is you can now get “VPS — Standard” for $60/Year when you use promo code LEBstandardyear and 12 months billing period (Order it here). The same package is still available on monthly billing, but $6.95/month using promo code LEBstandard.

  • 512MB memory
  • 20GB storage
  • 1000GB/month data transfer
  • 2 IP addresses
  • Xen/OpenVZ

ChicagoVPS have their servers in, well, Chicago IL (DuPont Fabros Datacenter to be exact). They seem to be affiliated with Colocrossing and Velocity Servers. The annual discounted price comes down to $5/month prepaid which is pretty cheap for a 512MB Xen box, but do note that ChicagoVPS has only had its domain registered for 4 months and is a new player in VPS hosting.

The original owner of LowEndBox known as "LowEndAdmin" or "LEA" for short founded LowEndBox in 2008 and created the concept of hosting applications on low resource "Low End Boxes". After creating the roots of the community that we know today, "LEA" stepped aside and allowed others to carry the torch forward.

    Hello,

I want to sell my chicagovps.net 512MB vps at 2$ only. If anyone interested please mail me at : mailbox.ix7@gmail.com

    * I want to sell my vps, because they are not providing rWhois facilities. Anyway.

    • $2 recurring? Do you have a list of providers that can provide rWhois facilities? Please share. Thank you.

    • @Wadud and Wing Loon,

We can offer rWhois aka swipe. You would just need your own /30 as an IP range.

That’s not a bad deal at all. I kind of wish I had held off a little while longer, heh. I ended up going with the same package here, but prepaid for the year at $81. I’m still in the process of getting all my stuff sorted out, but the setup was quick and painless, so I have no complaints so far :)

  5. @Ron – I Believe Chris setup the code and must have gotten click happy. I have since fixed the code and apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

    Thanks,

Right now I cannot connect to it =(. I don’t know if it is just me but it just sits there loading for quite a while xD. If it definitely isn’t your end I’ll try clearing my cache or restarting my computer heh ^^.

Yeah, I still can’t open the website with either Opera or Internet Explorer but I was able to with my phone. I’ll just do a DNS flush and see if that works =).

        • Austin:

I really can’t figure out what is wrong ;0. I tried IPConfig /flushdns, renewing my IP, restarting my router, restarting my computer, installed my webbrowser again ;0.. Is there any chance that you can check to see that the DNS is aligning properly, everything seems to point to that ;(.

          November 17, 2010 @ 3:56 am

Heh, it’s fine Chris. I think it’s just not working well for me ;0. I do appreciate the amount of work you put in to to try and fix this but if it is only me having these issues than I’d say don’t worry too much xD. I will just continue my search and if I get stuck again I’ll check back to see how you are doing with ChicagoVPS =).

Once again, I greatly appreciate what you tried at least =D.
