Via this WHT offer. DataHostDirect.com has this “TinyVPS” that costs $5.95/month. It uses HyperVM based panel and I suspect it uses OpenVZ as virtualization layer. This is what you’ll get with $5.95:
- 128MB memory
- 5GB storage
- 50GB monthly data transfer
- CentOS / Debian / Fedora / Gentoo / OpenSuse / Ubuntu
It claims to have 365day 24/7 support. Their website (and presumably their VPS) are hosted in New York in SolarVPS’ IP range. A name search from the WHOIS registrant info shows that it is run by someone in his early 20’s (like most budget VPS providers I guess). The website is hosted on the same IP that also hosts Crissic Solutions (and a few other sites) which I found weird…
Update: Nick from DataHostDirect.com has clarified that the VPS are actually located in Dallas, separated from the company website.

I am the owner of Data Host Direct, I wanted to clear up a few things. Our website is hosted off-site from our VPS node. Incase our server goes down, we want clients to be able to submit a ticket still and finding out updates. Our website is hosted at Crissic Solutions. Our server is located in Dallas, Texas, in Infomart. In the LimeStone Networks IP Range.

Nick Kitmitto
Thanks for the clarification. I’ll update my entry.
Domain has appeared to be expired. Nick has actually trying to sell the domain since May. I guess we’ll be putting it in the dead pool for this month.
