    But on the EaseVPS ToS:

The following services/programs are not allowed on our VPS accounts. This list is a follows but not limited to: (1)Spam services (kowingly committing the act of mass unsolicited mail) , (2)DOS attacks , (3)Torrent/seed boxes , (4)Runescape Bots.

  26. For everyone complaining about having to wait for setup, show some patience.

The plan is not advertised as “Instant Setup,” and Jacob has explained they are deploying another node. They will need time to setup and then deploy the containers.

Jacob I would recommend anyone already running in to the public to complain so hastily that you simply refund them and they shop elsewhere.

Waiting for the setup is not an issue… issue was not getting proper updates… They were trying to set it up by yesterday itself.. so i expected the server details by today morning.. when there was no mails in the morning i sent one mail at 6am.. but received reply only at 2pm..

I can understand technical difficulties… and can imagine how difficult to manage all these within this price range… only thing is please pass the info in time… or put it in an announcement page.. i think this is because we all working from different time zones…

May be I shouldn’t have published it in a public forum… Sorry… When i saw a message about the delay i just commented about my story.. didnt have any intention to hurt or defame the host.. in fact happy that he is trying to get the best possible config at lowest possible rate…

          network issues/packet loss for past 48 hours…

      • There ha been some packet loss for last week affecting pretty much everyone, Seems like it is gradually clearing up and adam from DataShack I kn is working on fully resolving this.

If your not satisfied we should have our UK Facility up within the next couple of weeks.
I just need to fit the RAM, Hard Drives and get the caddies and rails ordered.

    • Haha, Thankyou for the comments. It looks like you was put on Kansas City and all Kansas nodes are full up so the performance should not degrade.

We will also be moving the Kansas nodes to a 1Gbit switch some when in the next 1 / 2 months gradually transfering them so we do not have a mass-interruption of services.

Just a update on the new VPS node that is being deployed, It is failing to load any OS or even boot into grub. Bob is putting it back on the bench to reinstall the OS and then with some luck it will work. This certainly is a strange issue though considering it is new memory, hard drives, etc..

JACK! I do not know you (big internet AND common name), but I would LOVE to know how you turned your vps into a seedbox. I have been trying to figure this out for months. I’ve been searching on google, yahoo, bing and even lackluster ask.com. But the articles that I read are just speaking gibberish to me. If you know of any resource that would help me, I would REALLY appreciate it.

    MASSIVE FAIL!

    Where the hell is SSL?!

The whole order process, including payment details (some people still have to use CC so card number, CVV/CVV2 and card address) goes in plain text?! Are you kidding me?! Your servers don’t even listen on tcp/443 :-(

Please answer how do you protect your customers’ data in this case.
What about payment security? Have you ever heard of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) requirements?

I’d love to order from you, but in this case… no thanks. Seriously, this deserves ‘name & shame’ type publicity, especially when you can get proper SSL cert for free these days.

    Regards,
    Tom

    • Looks like someone spat the dummy out…

@Tom, Data transfered by SSL can still be intercepted we do not proccess any payments on our website it is all done on either 2Checkout, AlertPay or Liberty Reserve. Therefore your PCI Compliant statements being practicly useless.

      Thanks for your comments though.

No Jack… I’m a ‘first time poster’ and I appreciate your answer regarding the off-site payment processing, but… still the form data is sent to your server over HTTP, even if it’s processed off-site.

My server got suspended for high CPU usage. I got no warning before suspension and no mail after suspension. Detected the issue only after my service went down. There may have been a mention about how much CPU may be consumed but I didn’t see it in this ad or in the registration process.

    February 21, 2012 @ 11:00 am | Reply
    • @Seppo Your VPS got suspended because you was running a extremely CPU Intensive image proccessing script that was causing a 5.0 Load on a Dual Quad Core server. It was affecting the performance drasticly so we had no other option then to Immediately suspend the service.

I have updated the ticket with further Information.

        I just wish that:
        1. your client site wasn’t inaccessible
        2. you would inform clients about this kind of incidents with e-mail
        3. you could recover from this kind of incident without it resulting in server reinstall

I am in fault for running this kind of script on shared resources but I wish I could’ve recovered from it more gracefully. The script was showing CPU load of 1.0 for long time (not multithreaded) and I don’t understand why it went up to 5.0

        • Our client site is accessible, Let me explain our setup currently.
Main website, Balanced between 2 Servers(Ensures Minimal Downtime).

WHMCS Frontend, UK2.net storing all clients data within the country where our business is registered. The backend(Database) is hosted in a different datacenter.

We always send notifications out before suspension check your email log in client area and your spam folder.

If you feel this was miss-handled then I suggest you submit a ticket for a refund as I don’t think you completely understand our Legal TOS/AUP.

The fact that you also come to a public thread to complain when the ticket was under 1 Hour old and we generally respond within 30 – 40 Minutes.

I am sorry for no1 as it seems to have been network problem at my university that only affected my.easevps.com

There is probably some explanation to no2 too but I know I have given you correct email info and I know that I haven’t received any email from you.

As for no3 I just want to warn people to not accidentally consume too many resources at your service as it seems to lead to server reinstall. This is propably the only thing that I should’ve complained about publicly.

  45. @Seppo Ok, Just to stop your arrogant nonsense once and for all.
YOU are responsible for maintaining your VPS and what is running at all times, No one else can be held liable.

Your service was terminated as per your request with a FULL refund issued, Even though we have already spent hours possibly replying to your public critism towards EaseVPS.

I don’t think your quite understanding what actually happened here, The terms and service are outlined and you are made to agree to them for a purpose. It ensures both the consumer and the merchant security.

      Actually disregard everything I said.

Now that I think of things it seems just that I just don’t fully understand realities of cheap VPS hosting since I’ve only dealt with fully shared hosts and Rackspace.

I am sorry for disgracing the fine name of EaseVPS and believe that they are a fine establishment on their own field. I just wanted to discharge my frustration at them since I lost the work that I had done setting up the server when the script I was running went broken – a mistake that must have come from my own programming error.

I’m just so used to that this kind of error is dealt by killing the offending process or that the box i’m using has no limits on processor usage. For some reason I believed that this is the way all hosting solutions work.

Jacob, I’m sorry for my accusations.

We are having another Dual Quad Node setup with a /25 so there should be no shortage of IP Addresses.

Submit a ticket for a refund as a alternative to waiting.

I am being patient and willing to wait, however you should provide better communication to your customers so they are not left in the dark.

And i would recommend you change provider if this provider can’t handle your needs for whatever reason.

      • That would be DataShack, I actually was on the phone for about a hour today with @Ernie from HudsonValleyHost seeing if he could supply a server on a rush order but his pricing would mean you guys would poor performance, I mean poor for the budget price we sell them at.

Prior to that I phoned James Todd and see if he could do anything for me and he couldn’t get a server setup in the timeframe I required.

We will proberly just stay out of stock for the end of this month and raise a budget so that we can Introduce a new location, Seems like the only wise decission at the momment if DataShack does not get any further allocations.

        • We have a select few clients that had IP Space but not currently utilizing it, When they failed to provide IP Justification it was reclaimed and put back into our IP Pool.

          • Makes sense :)

Were you able to get more blocks after that? I find it very interesting that WSI is being like this since they have so much space.

            February 23, 2012 @ 11:17 pm | Reply
  55. Well, DataShack told me they have to refill forms to get further Justification and the IPv4 Depletion only makes that even the more harder.

DataShack’s old price of a /24 for $124 was amazing, I have now setup additional arrangements with a Colocation Provider in US who is willing to let me rent and route /24 Blocks to my own GRE Tunnel.

The problem is, I do not have a GRE Tunnel for them to route the IP Addresses too. Let’s await for a response from DataShack about this and then I will see what options we have from there.

I will make sure this is sorted soon though since it is not allowing room for growth.

        • I actually was speaking with adam ticson yesterday from nricolo.com, About renting /24 Blocks on a month to month price and then it can be routed to our own servers.

I don’t know the standard proceedures on routing, But adam was saying if I wanted to assign two /25’s out of a single /24 then I could route them to a GRE Tunnel. He had to go to a meeting and I was going to call him back last night but when I got back in I fell asleep.

We shouldn’t be out of stock for long and also a Live Network status will be coming with Archives of Uptime, Current Status, Traceroutes, Etc..

          February 25, 2012 @ 10:38 am | Reply
          • A GRE means you’d have to pay for bandwidth over there too.

I’d see if you could get it SWIP’d to you with a Letter Of Authority so then you can get WSI/DB to announce the space for you.

    (3.92 x 12) – 9.40800 = 37.63200

  65. Michael Gibson:

Easevps/Jacob = Soon to Be Deadpool. I currently have about 200 vps’s through about 125 providers…..(providers if you don’t see me in your client list please reply with your company info, always looking for more). I can honestly say this is the worst server stability and the worst customer service I have ever seen. To start I originally had 3 servers with Jacob, then one day one of my servers just went away??? No email, no explanation no nothing. So I have 2 now and I send a ticket in only to get Jacob claiming we don’t cancel servers? No regard to the records he can see and the previous emails with server credentials or payments that all show I should have 3 vps servers (GREAT WORK JACOB). So now I just have to accept that I have 2 servers I guess…..case closed. So one day (like 3 days later) my 2 servers are unreachable and again I send in a ticket. The response: Jacob could not see any problems….everything looks good….must be on my end I guess right. So then about a day later I get server set up details from Easevps…..like I just ordered new servers….only I didn’t. Here comes my 2 servers I complained about yesterday that looked fine according to Jacob. Both servers in the same DC and both on the same subnet (not impressed at all) about 4 tickets later instead of changing my IPs to what I needed (different subnets) I am forced to cancel the duplicate subnet server. IF YOU DON’T WANT CUSTOMERS SIMPLY TAKE DOWN YOUR SITE BECAUSE I AM GETTING VERY UPSET WITH YOUR BS AND CHILDISH TACTICS!

P.S. FYI the reason you have soooo many DDOS attacks is because you piss off soooo many customers, providers and competition……they get a vps so they can find your newest IP range and they blast the hell out of it…….treat people right and the attacks will go away. Currently I want a refund for the last month of no service but Jacob claims no. I suggest to all that if you are having issues and he is unwilling to fix it or refund please send your complaints to his payment processing company (2co)….they do not like chargebacks and they should know how Jacob operates (chargebacks come with a $25 fee to the merchant so even if for some reason you loose Jacob does too……I am going to charge back my payment now and send a full report and copies of all correspondences now. Cheers Jacob! :-)
