Google Summer of Code 2025 is Almost Here! Check Out What BorgBase Needs and How You Can Earn a Nice Stipend

BorgBase Google Summer of CodeGoogle Summer of Code is coming fast!

If you’ve never heard of it, Google Summer of Code (GSOC) is an annual, global program designed to introduce new contributors to open-source software development.  The program pairs students (or other beginner programmers) with established open-source organizations.  Throughout the summer, approved contributors work on coding projects with experienced mentors.  The goal is to give students the opportunity to learn, while open source projects are advanced.

Besides the education, students also

  • have the opportunity to forge meaningful professional relationships
  • enhance their resumes with documented contributions to open source projects
  • are exposed to real-world development workflows and best practices for cording
  • receive a stipend from Google: up to $6,600 depending on project size and geography
