More exclusive offers on the way! Erick from G&Z Host emailed me their promo code lowendbox, which gives you $4 recurring discount when you purchase their Xen – Hydrogen package, which brings the price down to $6.95/month. You get
- 256MB memory
- 10GB storage
- 200GB/month data transfer
- Xen/SolusVM
According to their network page, the servers are with Colo4Dallas in Texas, while their website is in Los Angeles. The test IP however gets around 60%+ packet loss when I tried to ping it — not too sure what’s going on there.
The “company” itself started in 2010 — in fact the domain was only registered last month, with WHOIS protection turned on. While there does not seem to be a way to know who are the people behind the company, I do trace it to an IP address in El Salvador.

My ping result from Colo4Dallas: –
looks like Quadranet’s Rack inside of Colo4dallas and
not actually colo4dallas.
Their network is kind of funky. I have a vps in softlayer dallas
and the traceroute to 96.44.188.21 actually goes to chicago and then
back to dallas :)
I can’t copy and paste for some reason but I;m getting nearly the same results as Wing up there off of a Public wireless network.
Forgot to point out:
No swap? (I think Xen is the one with swap and not burst memory.)
We have some problem with the kernel that is why you see packet loss and now is corrected
@drmike
We have swap in all xen packages and is the same as the dedicated ram.
