Hello, is the offer at this price still valid on 28th of this month? And is thus a recurring offer? I mean the free upgrade to 512mb as well as the price. (To the best of my knowledge Mega-I is quite expensive)

    August 18, 2015 @ 11:25 am | Reply
    • Yes, it’s available till 1st September and recurring. We’ve never changed pricing, even when we moved from one of the most economic datacenters to one of the most expensive ones (Telecity) in Amsterdam.

The VPS runs fine so far. I ordered a cPanel license as addon, not activated automatically, I needed to ask for activation. Support told me they activated the license, but still not activated…
Ticket support is a little bit slower than other hosts. Live chat operator needs to improve customer service.

    • We upgraded our WHMCS installation to v6 at this time, so cPanel wasn’t being activated manually and support did not have access to issue licenses manually. It is fixed since.

  18. I’ve been with HostHatch since 20 April 2014, when I took up another LowEnd Box offer from them. The service I have received from them has been excellent, and with this offer am now on my 4th server with them.

Network quality has been good. The uptime in Sweden has been 99.97% this month (some packet loss), and is something they are aware of and will be addressing.

They’re pro-active about issues, by sending an informative e-mail that includes technical details for those that want to know more (like myself). Support and sales staff has been friendly and prompt, never had to wait long to get things resolved. Would recommend them.

      August 26, 2015 @ 6:21 am | Reply
      • Hong Kong orders were paused between 24th to 26th for lack of IP addresses. If one was pending for 4 days, there must be another issue with it. Please send me an email (abdullah@) and I will look into it for you.

Most orders were/are instantly setup before 24th and after 26th August – unless there is a shorter than 4 character hostname, or special characters hostname, etc – then we have to manually fix the hostname and setup the server.

    • I do have a HKG VPS with HostHatch and the IP itself was geo-located from Germany and perhaps, it explains your finding. However, when you run the traceroute, it will show you that your VPS is actually located in HK :)

      August 28, 2015 @ 5:30 pm | Reply
    • yeah, every one i checked except one indicated germany. the odd one was australia. but like other person said, tracert to it and it’s obviously not in germany.

      • The geolocation providers take some time to update, but most should show correct location now. In another month or so – it should show Hong Kong and Australia correctly in 99% of the places. But that of course does not mean that the server itself is located in that place.

Their support team only reply once per day at 18:00 UTC, which is the most unacceptable part for me. In Vultr, hostus and ramnode, they will come to you from several mins to a few hours at most.
Also, their hong kong IP comes from Germany, support team claimed it will change “some day” and does not affect performance at all.
Their CPU claimed as 2*2.1Ghz in 256m plan, but actually you will get a 800mhz cpu because of “Fairly Share” with a unixbench score around 500.Their support team took two days to upgrade my service “actually” to 512mb because I pay annually (at the beginning, only the information page changed but not in the instance). However, after using “dd if=/dev/zero of” test, as you might guess, it was still 256m openvz with max 216 free RAM. Maybe this is why most don’t like ovz for nominal plan and price changes with hidden easy overselling.
Only thing they did good for me was that they cancelled my service and gave me refund after my request. Ofc, I didn’t use their resources at all except some unixbench test. That is honorable where I need to let you guys know.
Actually, this is very cheap service comparing with Hostus hongkong service in terms of the memory and disk provided, especially the larger bandwidth, ofc, except the “fairly shared cpu”. Cheaper price, then lower service. We can’t ask for too much! However, I am a short temper man, I would like to get response fast not once a day.
Share with you my experience, hopefully, it can be helpful for someone.

  47. Frustrated Customer:

I paid for a HK server today and found that the TUN is not enabled. A ticket was raised and about one hour later the support guy replied “done”.
Then I tried logging back in to finish my server setup only to find I can no longer establish SSH connection. Talked to the same support guy via the ticket, and was basically told ‘go figure it yourself via VNC’.
    Alright, Alright, Alright.
I logged in to their serial console and found the SSH service has been screwed. Before I could fix it after googling around. I found the server has been suspended with a new invoice overdue for one week.

Need to point out that from the time I paid for the server to the time I received the ‘overdue’ invoice, it’s only 13 hours.

As a paying customer, I put my trust on them when I clicked the ‘pay’ button. But I can’t feel that they really care about their customers.

Yes their prices are low, unfortunately, so are their services.
