LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

ImpactVPS - $6/year OpenVZ 256MB RAM/5GB SSD + 50% off monthly + double credits - in Seattle

Impact VPS

Alex from ImpactVPS sent us a nice offer for the holiday season. Many of you may remember Alex from his first company, Fliphost. Fliphost always maintained a pretty good reputation and it was sold to someone who keeps it running nicely. Alex is someone I would trust with my data, personally. His servers are hosted in Seattle (Incero) with 10Gbps port on each node. ImpactVPS is doing resource bundles, what they call Virtual Dedicated Resources (VDR). These are resources that can be divided among multiple VPS (provided you have multiple IPs in the bundle). The promo code CHRISTMAS2015 will get you 50% off of anything but the yearly plans (which are already discounted). Payment is accepted through PayPal, credit card, and bitcoin.

In addition to the discounted yearly packages and the 50% off of the monthly packages, ImpactVPS is offering double credit. If you deposit credit into your account, they will double it (open a ticket to claim it). You must have an active order before the deposit. Last but not least, they offer a 3 day refund if you are not happy with the service.

The Offers:

Network Information:

Location: Incero Seattle
Test IPv4: 107.155.106.130

Test IPv6: 2604:0880:000a:0002:0000:0000:0000:0001

Not allowed: Teamspeak, mumble, torrents, spamming / mass mail, nested virtualization, tor.

    Hi, Alex Wacker,

You may want to fix a 50% code since it applies to your yearly shared plans at this moment.

Question from a newbie: to host 3/4 wordpress sites, do I need to know Linux or is there a cpanel with fantastic kind of managing system for easily set wordpress, mails and add on domains and ftp of files?

    December 28, 2015 @ 7:17 pm | Reply
    • We do not include a control panel by default. If you want cPanel specifically we can do that for $15 additional per month. Or you could use a free control panel like vestacp. If you don’t want to deal with the command line at all we do sell shared hosting at http://impactshared.com and the same 50% promocode does apply there as well.

Thanks for the quick response, Alex.
May I ask a little more about CPU info of host machine? Like CPU model, especially core speed in MHz?
Is this yearly price effective for life time or just initial one year? If the latter, what’s the pricing after 1 year?
Does the double credits apply to yearly plan or not?

    December 29, 2015 @ 5:00 am | Reply
    • At least Dual E5-2630v3. Which is 2.4Ghz

Pricing is for life. Double credits you have to have an active order to do it

I never came across any positive feedback in their favour but got only one negative remark here:

I am keen to use their service but I am wondering if VDR8 can handle websites requesting 30 PHP pages per second.

I have been using them and highly recommend them. Currently running webmin + LAMP + firewalld + FTP(for offshore backup) + piwik tracking and using 250mb ram out of 512mb on centos. I haven’t tried to use any optimization.

The control panel is very convenient. server can be rebooted and reinstalled from there.

their support is great too as long as its related to the server and not something else. I had trouble with pptp/ovpn and i guess it has to do with IPTABLES settings on the main server.

What’s the deal with NO MINECRAFT servers?? I want to run a pocketMC server for a Girl Scouts troop, so they can meet in a SAFE server, and not get trolled by kiddieporno jerks. I was about to jump on this since nothing is mentioned above, but then I read the typically egregious TOS, and right off the bat saw NO MINECRAFT. Bemused, and sad if this is true.

Never used VPS before, how would I use it to make myself a vpn?

For the “Not allowed,” things, those are things I’m not allowed to run on the vps but if I’m using it as a vpn can I still say connect to the vpn and use team speak and such? I don’t use TS often anyway just thought I’d ask.
