MegaVZ - NAT IPv4 machines starting at €3/year (128MB) in the US and Germany

MegaVZ.com_-_2014-11-11_07.41.13Ryan, from MegaVZ, has sent in his first ever offer to LowEndBox. These are LowEndSpirit-style machines and are available in three locations.

NanoVZ

MegaVZ1024

More offers inside!

Ryan initially wanted to join Anthony in LowEndSpirit, he writes, but after talking it through he started NanoVZ and MegaVZ on his own with some advice from Anthony. He runs NGINX as a proxy for the NAT’d IP addresses because of his experience with NGINX. Support is limited with these machines, but Ryan says he’s going to be on top of it. A second IPv6 subnet can be added on request. The host nodes for these machines vary per location, for details please see inside. Lenoir and Dusseldorf seem to have RAID1 or better, Los Angeles does not seem to have RAID but it does have SSD-caching. I’m really looking forward to read reviews about MegaVZ because more and more of these kind of services pop up. Please feel free to share your reviews in the comments!

MegaVZ256

MegaVZ512

PayPal and Stripe are accepted payment methods. There is no/limited support for these machines. Torrenting or any CPU intensive applications are not allowed. Nodewatch helps them monitor nodes. No refunds are given. For all the ins and outs, please read their full Terms of Service before ordering!

How many server in each location? If I order one 256 and one 512 in same location, are they gonna be on the same node?

    • RyanB:

      Hi CoolMoon,
At Current 1, So the answer is Yes, Although we are looking at putting an Extra Node in Lenoir. And maybe Dusseldorf, Depending On Demand on that Location.

At current, the only thing i can Suggest for getting two separate nodes, is to opt for NanoStorage Plans we offer (Hetzner’s DC16) + a 512MB MegaVZ VPS as well. as this will be over two nodes.

      Ryan

The easiest way to accomplish this is to just use iptables to redirect the port:
          iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p udp –dport 17503 -j REDIRECT –to-port 1194

After you have openvpn installed and working install a new package that saves the rules so they are there on reboot:
          apt-get update
          apt-get install iptables-persistent

Thanks for asnwering. I have one more question. What is exactly SSH NAT port on IPv4? Does it mean that I share my IP with other customers and I have some ports for my services? What happens if another client has already claimed the ports I need? I want to host a teamspeak server, it uses three ports. How I will make it to work?

        November 23, 2014 @ 12:19 am | Reply
  22. RyanB:

Yes that is exactly true you share the ipv4 with other users but get ipv6 dedicated to your vm.

There are some guides on http://forum.lowendspirit.com to use teamspeak on a NAT vps. And there are many teamspeak servers running already.

Ports are determined by the last occlet of your internal ipv4. More information on the way the ports are setup etc can be found at http://wiki.lowendguide.com/doku.php

Icecast etc is fine, as long as the content doesn’t violate our Terms of service/AUP.

as for the DNS, i doubt it will work as you would need a specific port forwarded for this, and you don’t really get to choose them.

Some notes on commenting on LowEndBox:

  • Do not use LowEndBox for support issues. Go to your hosting provider and issue a ticket there. Coming here saying "my VPS is down, what do I do?!" will only have your comments removed.
  • Akismet is used for spam detection. Some comments may be held temporarily for manual approval.
  • Use
...
to quote the output from your terminal/console, or consider using a pastebin service.
