David, from OrbitServers, has sent in again great offers for LowEndBox readers. This is great news for those looking for affordable long term offers. They included two very cheap annual plans at $5/year and $10/year.
OrbitServer has been working hard to bring you these offers. David has told us that this advertisement is exclusive to LEB and will not appear on any other site or newsletter. OrbitServers are owned and operated by MPSERV LLC, who have been in business for over 2 years and are based in Tennessee. They’re using nodes configured with the E3-1240v3 processor, 32GB DDR3 RAM and which have 4x 1TB Western Digital drives with LSI MegaRAID 9271-4i (w/CacheVault) in RAID10. Although their offers are limited to 100Mbps, their host node is utilizing a 1Gbps Port. Their last offer received generally positive responses with very few negative comments. WHMCS Broken
Adam,
WHMCS was only down for a couple minutes while we updated the version along with some module changes.
Should be good to go.
I bought their deal in August 2014 and I can say.. they do a better job than FTPIT and maybe better than Hudson Valley Host. Excellent customer service and they have the right people in the right roles to keep their customers happy.
The August deal was $1 cheaper, but hey, I think I may buy a few more right nodes now cause its on sale.
Thanks for the great review CWD, we do our best!
Hey guys, I just want to share my experience with Orbit Servers today.
Just saw the offer and was like, hey why not? Good price, might as well just try it….
So I decided to buy 2 VPS packages at one go.
To be honest, I didn’t really have a easy time setting it up.
Firstly, when the servers were setup, I couldn’t connect to it, because the public IPs weren’t issue. Okay sure. maybe just a small issue.
One good thing that came out of it was that the support is very response and I think that’s a big plus :)
However, since a few hours ago, I can say i’m a little disappointed as the servers have been unresponsive twice in a day. Plus now it’s responding very very slowly.
Just hope it gets better though. I won’t write these guys off yet, but that’s just what I experienced today. I really hope Orbit Servers can keep these VPS on and fast.
Abel,
Generally we do maintenance on all of our systems, including software updates, on Tuesday nights into Wednesday Eastern Time. I’m not aware of anything we did that could have caused this issue, but I will not rule it out as we were transferring large amounts of data onto our backup systems.
If you have the issue again, please submit a support ticket, as it will help us track down the issue. We are staffed 24/7 and generally handle all requests and issues within a few minutes depending on support volume.
Request to be moved to a different server and they will do it (other companies hassle you on this request). Someone else is prob abusing their node on that server and that will impact you.
I also jumped on this offer for 2 of the 128M vps. Both setup pretty quickly. One is prefect but one is running but does not seem to have routing to/from internet.
I also experienced slowness in trying to enter a ticket for the problem one above. Please guys just let us know whats going on. If the great offer swamped you just let us
know.
Hey Wayne,
We’ve been pretty busy today, I apologize for the delay in your ticket being answered, you have been replied too and we are working diligently to correct any issues.
Reply to the ticket at your convenience.
5 hours to reply “We are working on it” 14+ hours after “We are working on it” its still not working. Replied in ticket system still not working. Also asked VPS to be moved to a different node so that the two vps I have in that location are not on same node. I don’t see any progress. Good thing I didn’t need this vps yesterday.
Got another “I am looking into this” and 12 more hours of nothing. This looks like a vps provider that I need to put on the don’t not use list.
Wayne,
I apologize for the delay, I was away from the office yesterday. I am not sure why the tech who handled your updated ticket placed it back on hold, the issue was an easy fix. It is completely unacceptable for a customer to have to wait without an update for that long, even if we are busy, and I will get to the bottom of why this happened.
Hello David, did you consider accepting Bitcoins as payment? Thanks.
Hey,
It’s something we are looking into.
I normally deal in higher end VPS and Dedicated servers, but couldn’t pass up the $10/year deal. It’s worth it just to have a spare VM around. The VPS was turned out within a couple of minutes after using PayPal for payment. Had an issue with getting into SSH as root due to a PW issue, submitted a ticket – 1h 59m response time (to be fair, I set it at medium priority), which is better than some larger hosts I deal with. Word of advice – stay away from special characters for the initial PW when you setup the VM. If you want to use spec. chars. then reset the root PW after you SSH in.
The Control Panel gives you the basics of what you’d want and a couple of simple graph reports. Re-imaging to various flavors is only a couple clicks away too.
This is out of the Dallas DC:
For less than a dollar a month, pretty happy so far. Will report back in a few months on it.
I updated the server and it downloaded 166 packages (130mb) in 20 seconds. Installed all of that in under a minute. That’s pretty snappy for 256mb RAM.
Jason,
Thanks for the feedback! I am glad you enjoy the service!
Can I install OpenVPN for personal use? Is TUN/TAP available?
Yes to all your question.
Can i use VPS for OPEN VPN
Yep!
Just want to update you guys on our experience with Orbit Servers. It’s pretty good, having good uptime PLUS support is excellent. If you guys are on the fence, i suggest just get the package now :D
Abel,
Thanks for the great review.
Hi I got one of these and from my location its not bad considering how bad my conection is.
I got New york as the ping time where around 2000 ms – 400ms and Dallas got up to 12000ms – 2000ms or so.
I have 2 questions
1) Can i order then pay in 24 hours or so?
2) Is it ok to install Softether ?
Got one 128MB so far so good
Rami,
Thanks for the comment!
I’m happy with the 128, great service m8!
Thank you!
I rented a server from this provider a few months ago here:
http://lowendbox.com/blog/orbitservers-4-offers-from-6year-for-a-128mb-openvz-in-buffalo-and-dallas/#comment-238707
I use it for personal VPN. My server has been running for 123 days. I am very satisfied with their service. I also submitted a ticket one day and they responded very quickly. Thank you David, keep up the good work.
Dicky,
Thanks a lot! I love hearing from happy customers!
Guess I missed out. Showing $11 annually and $12 semi-annually for those the two annual subscriptions.
Hey,
The offers are annually, not semi-annually. If you select Annual as the billing term, the proper discount will be applied.
That’s what it was…the 256MB link looks to default to semi-annually billing and I didn’t actually notice its a dropdown that’s switchable.
You just need to enter the coupon code. I signed up about 8 hours ago, coupon worked fine… but my VPS is still not setup. :-(
Jon,
Send in a support ticket, I haven’t had the chance to keep a constant eye on this thread. We’ll get you sorted out.
Hello,
Please let us know why slow respond for reply the ticket?
I am still waiting for my vps activated.
Hello,
Your VPS has been active since yesterday.
could the OpenVZ – 128MB VPS make ssh tunneling?
Yes.
I want to know, the coupon code mentioned here is a life-time or just first year?
Life Time.
I signed up last night but still nothing provisioned. What gives?
Hey,
As far as I can tell, all orders have been provisioned, except for one which is on hold by the customers request.
We apologize to any customers who have experienced increased support times the past few days. The series of storms which have been hitting the Eastern US have caused us to be extremely short staffed with power and internet outages. We are working as always to answer and solve any issues as quickly as possible, and we appreciate your patience.
My VPS is down for about 3 hours and it is not the first time it happen more than once in the past two days
i think its the firewall they have or something, i often get this and uptime is showing as 97.32%
Here are down too, only my new vps on node 2 OVZ2 dallas are offline, my another vps on node 1 OVZ1 dallas are fine.
same. have been down for more than 14 hours already. and support is not even answering. 2nd time this has happened in 2 days
Same here it’s offline for 14 hours and no one answering my ticket
Same problem again and no answer from support
Problem happening again VPS on node OVZ2 dallas down for more than 6 hours
My vps still off, anyone facing this issue in dallas ovz2 too ?
Since yesterday completely down my vps hosted in OVZ2 dallas support said ‘awaiting for tech diagnostics” 24 hours to have a diagnostic ?
Still down, no more answers… why company act like that ? I don’t understand why keep bad server or provider and don’t move on…
Something is wrong. ssh is terribly slow. Problems suddenly occured last few days.
For the life of me I do not see where you change OS distributions in the CP?
Great info, i’ll try to order
Well again problems in DAVZ2 node, uptimerobot shows down:
Since 51 hrs, 1 mins (21-05-2015 07:36:56)
Anyone in this node too have same problem ?
I already have one vps in node DAVZ1 and don’t get many troubles like happening in DAVZ2, but the worst is company REALLY don’t care think this because from time to time happening again all node offline and never see changes or improvements.
I do not recommend anymore for anyone, happy in begin but not since problems started and I really do not recommended to anyone is my friend.
I have been having problems as well starting at around the same time as you. Early on the 22nd their support had said they are looking into it and haven’t heard from them since then after numerous times of trying to get a hold of them.
I also think that I will be moving to a different company and I do not recommend OrbitServers to anyone at least for now.
Still down here uptimerobot shows: Since 102 hrs, 37 mins (21-05-2015 07:36:56)
And my another vps are down too BUffalo, Node NYVZ2
This guy just need to made a official announcement and explain what happening or just refund because it’s illogical running a company with so many problems without explain just to scam people and run away with their money, it’s is to me what I see.
No refunds and not service is logical ?
vps are back but I am started looking for another serious provider.
Down DAVZ2 node again :(
My vps down Buffalo, Node NYVZ2 :(
Just to update davz2 node down again since 3 days ago. Response from support ‘We are currently investigating.’ Already asked to change do davz1 node without success. Beware guys. Before are ok but now…
Yeah my vps has also been down on location DAVZ2 and my ticket is labeled as “on hold”.
Yeah still not update, shame because company started well fast vps, good uptime… I am wonder what this guys won with five bucks to just get their name in bad situations like this, after someone reads this do you think they will purchase something from this company ? Because if have such comments before I have purchased I will look for another company.
Downtime with this host has been horrendous since I bought my vps back in April.
uptimerobot status: Down
Since 100 hrs, 57 mins (2016-01-02 05:32:16)
is back UP (Host Is Reachable) (It was down for 109 hours, 15 minutes and 18 seconds).
Orbitservers accounts was moved to Vortex servers but the control panel continue in the domain orbitservers.com that expired in december/2017, then after december Orbitservers clients lost the access to the control panel?
