LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

Please consider whitelisting Low End Box & Low End Talk from your Ad Blockers

We get it, it’s 2020 and plenty of websites utilize terribly annoying and obtrusive ads on their websites. But that isn’t the case here at Low End Box and Low End Talk, where we only have a few advertising areas, with only relevant advertisers (hosting companies, etc). We don’t have any banner, Flash, animation, obnoxious sound, or popup ads. We do not implement these annoying types of ads!

From our data we know that many people utilize an ad block feature built into their web browsers which is preventing the page from fully loading.

We rely on the earnings from ads to operate Low End Box and Low End Talk, and all of it comes from our online advertising.

Please add lowendbox.com and lowendtalk.com to your ad blocking whitelist or disable your adblocking software.

Thank you so much for your support and consideration. And most importantly, thank you for visiting our websites.

  2. Haven’t whitelisted any site on uBlock ever, until now… for LowEndBox, I’d do anything. Keep up the amazing work guys!

The problem is not in advertisement alone. It’s more about privacy and protection. I don’t want to whitelist entire domain to enable Google, Facebook, and whatnot statistics services.
If you will place some banner without using usual spying ad/stats system, I will be glad to read that promotion and maybe click on it to know more.
But not the other way around.

Totally agree with that, another big point for me is that i’m also blocking all tracking shits… And ads always comes with tracking.

    • Thanks for the feedback Rev. Over the past two months I removed all of the Facebook cookie code, along with Adroll and Perfect Audience (all services which we do not use, but were used by the site’s prior owner). Is there something else we should look into removing? Thanks for the input.

Yeah, all Google related stuffs :/. (Google Analytics, Google Syndication)

        • Ah I understand. Yeah it would be difficult to remove Google Analytics. Does AdBlocker actually stop analytics from working? I did not realize it did…

Yes, all the analytics is the first thing that adblockers block. It makes all the pages load as quickly as possible.
Even my DNS-server is blocking that :)

In the past i was using Ghostery and uBlock Origin. Yeah, they block all external stuffs (more Ghostery by default). Trackers and ads mainly.

Now i use Brave and haven’t added any adblockers. It has an embedded adblocker that is blocking all ads and trackers by default.

Sometime i use a VPN (has plugin or app) with included adblocker. I know it blocks ads but not sure about how it handles trackers (iirc i’ve activated this ; i’m a “Do not track” user and i enforce this policy).

Few days ago i was looking for a link to make your a donation guys. LET and LEB are really amazing, including your community. I’m used to make donation when i use a lot something that is normally free. I don’t like ads, i prefer to pay if i appreciate the service, that’s another way for me to support the service.

Thanks a lot, will check to unblocks ads on LEB since your don’t offer any way i’m away of to make donation.

I agree, some Patreon might be a good start.

    • That’s a very generous offer, thank you o_be_one. The idea of accepting a charitable donation, however, does not seem fair as it wouldn’t be earned by me or the website. Not looking for handouts, while the idea is a very kind and generous offer. What are your thoughts?

Like Rev said, Patreon or something similar could be good too if you feel donation unfair.

As for Donation, if you don’t go with a Patreon, you can maybe add some transparency by adding an automated gauge that will show donation amount (not names or names as an option)? This way it may feel more like a donation earned by the site. Lot of good services provided for free by awesome people that accept donation in different ways.

Last option i can suggest is like Patreon finally, just offer a membership fee for who wants that add simple perks. Could be for example access to a membership forum, and/or a user flair (like on Reddit), etc. I’ve thinked about a special hosting offer to subscribed members but i feel like it would make competition to what LEB offers to guests.

Wish people add more ideas that are simple, balanced and fair ^^.

There is an option to write text to subscribers. It can be used to share some VPS proposals to subscribers earlier, say two days before posting to LowEndBox.

          • Rev, are you saying that you would be open to receiving a once-a-month newsletter from Low End Box?

            • Rev:

              Yes, why not?
Frankly speaking, LEB offers are the only advertisement that I am willing to get :)
And I get them by reading my RSS-reader.

I follow your Twitter with notification just to get all updates… And i only get notifications from LEB and Tesla, so it’s kind of a privilege. LEB and LET is really interesting to me, and when i see all most actives users i see that we are few on the same boat.

About a newsletter, i can be open to that if it’s one time every months, why not. By default it’s opt-out and we can opt-in his more than ok also. It’s more job for you but if automatized it’s quite easy to do.

Continue to be respectful to our privacy, to be transparent, and let the control to us and we will follow you without any problem :).

        • I am going to look into Patreon today, thanks for all of the suggestions. On the membership side, are you saying that anyone that donates should become a Preferred Member of some sort? How does Reddit do it?

          • Rev:

You could just send some offers earlier through Patreon, and after a day or so publish them to LEB. No need to integrate anything.
And those admins that are offering will know, that first people to see would be “premium” users, that are generous and that have money.

You don’t use Reddit? But i was pretty sure there were a subreddit for LEB or LET?!
Well on Reddit you earn “gold coins” when you give money (no tax receipt ahah), this allows you to give these coins to people you want (for example people who were the most helpful to you), this allow you to be “premium” (it just remove ads and let you access a private space for premium members) and this allow you some useless options i don’t recall all (maybe like Reddit avatar generator, bookmark a post, etc). It’s quite complicated but relevant for an open space like Reddit. This would be probably too much for a specialized forum like yours.

So as membership, i think more about special newsletter with “pre-access” to coming offers (be careful to stay out of the “commercial” side of this), maybe more survey about how we enjoy LEB/LET, what we would like to see next, why we use it, etc. (you know like an organization). You don’t need to give 232423 things. If you really would like to thank donators more than just telling “thank your”, it’s ok to just offer one simple thing. You know, we give money to help because we enjoy the freebie and we feel good here; so most of us are note waiting for anything more. You are already offering us this space, this forum, this community. I would like to give money because i would like to thank you (or your team) for these sites, it’s not to tell me thank you back :D!

Oh last point, you should really start a survey with these ideas when you will feel ready, and/or start a thread on LET about it. You may have a lot more ideas and support from you community, i think.

Hell no! Crap hosts that are totally unreliable. I had slow hosts. Hosts with issues, hosts that shut the door after an overselling spree and not fill filling contracts …

I use their crappy hosts you allow advertising here for staging site that is not important and I use them in the past for master nodes for cryptocurrencies (many do not even allow this) I had to monitor the nodes anyway so it was not that important that the servers were perfect. But I would never use these hosts for anything serious. No testing is done, no checks. You let every unreliable overselling crap host just advertise here. Why should I support that?

The same boring “Here is what they had to say …” introduction copied and pasted for every new deal. What work actually goes into this site?

    • Obz, thanks for your reply and thoughts. I have been investing 30~ hours a week into LowEndBox and LowEndTalk for the past few months improving every element on the websites and community since purchasing them from the site’s prior owner. We have also greatly enhanced the scrutiny of hosts being published. On top of that we have interviews, tutorials, polls, opinion-editorials and more scheduled for the next few months. We are really going to keep our positive momentum going and I hope that in the future you’ll reconsider and whitelist our website.
