  3. Jason:

What if i go over the Monthly Bandwidth? Does the vps go offline?

    June 30, 2020 @ 9:44 am | Reply
    • Hi Jason, thanks for considering RackNerd!

In the event you consume or approach the allocated bandwidth; upgrades are seamless.

Bandwidth meters do reset every first of the month, regardless of the billing cycle. In the event you consume the entire bandwidth allocation and do not upgrade, the system will automatically suspend the VPS until either an upgrade is applied or the bandwidth meter resets. Customers usually appreciate this to avoid bandwidth overages.

We are quite flexible and willing to work with our end users depending on their specific needs. I hope we can work together :)

    • Hello Khaled, that’s awesome! Thank you for being a customer of RackNerd. We sincerely appreciate the business.

You can always order additional services, that isn’t an issue :) if you’re looking to add diversity or the added protection with our new 60Gbps DDoS protected KVM VPS, this particular promotion is one to go for.

Migrations between facilities aren’t possible, as each facility / location varies in cost – so our promotions reflect what we’ve accounted for, while maintaining a sustainable long term business. Customers can always appreciate that we are here for the long haul.

We hope that you buy expansion services with us, and again thank you for already being a RackNerd customer.

I don’t know where to write my Review: I bought 3.5GB RAM KVM VPS Special to mount a plex + Gdrive unlimited server and so far it has worked perfect, I can stream (direct) files from 1-15gb that means 1080p movies or 4k / 1080 tv shows I am from Mexico and the VPS is close to me.
I have doubts: is the traffic counted inbound
/outbound or only outbound? Can you buy more space
    /bandwidth?
It is the first time that I have an unmanaged vps, apparently most providers do not give you a guide on how to use your own domain, I am very new to this, I hope it improves its KB because it only says: we recommend these services … Or maybe I need a guide for dummies lol

    • Hi Hugo! Thank you for sharing your awesome experience with RackNerd! We sincerely appreciate your business, this means a lot to us.

Storage and bandwidth can be upgraded on the fly, and we can put together pricing specific to your needs. Bandwidth is total transfer, so both inbound and outbound are accounted for. Just open a sales ticket when needed and we’ll be there to help with any upgrades you may need.

    Hi Dustin,

What does “Asia Optimized!” mean? Is it optimized ONLY for Asia?

What are the renewal prices? Does renewal pricing depend on initial billing cycle?

    Thank you

    July 2, 2020 @ 1:55 pm | Reply
    • Hi 8bits, thank you for your interest in RackNerd!
      Good questions by the way. To briefly answer the basics;

Asia Optimized is a term RackNerd as well as other providers use to let end-users in that region know that they can expect optimized connectivity. Los Angeles is well-known, and one of the best locations to select for that particular region. However, we don’t just claim to provide optimized connectivity, we actually deliver it. Within our mix of carriers, China Telecom, China Unicom, China Mobile are some of the carriers to be expected, and those are some of the carriers we utilize to provide the lowest latency and best connectivity for that particular region. In addition to having multiple locations within Los Angeles to choose from, so end users within that region can determine which location/blend works best for their use case, also depending on their local carriers. That’s not just it, we have plenty of other carriers within our mix to help offer diversity, and cater to the American market and over-deliver with a solid optimized network, with added benefits such as Noction Intelligent Routing Platform, DDoS mitigation. We are a performance-based provider, so we try our best to deliver an optimized amazing network, enterprise hardware, and friendly/fast support.

Renewal rates will be the same, no price increases are to be expected.

I sincerely appreciate your time and look forward to hearing working with you.

My server keeps going offline. It loses internet connection and support has to change the ip to get it working again. This has happened 3 times in the past few weeks

I don’t think support even READS my ticket updates sometimes

    July 3, 2020 @ 11:04 am | Reply
    • Hello, thank you for being a customer of RackNerd! We sincerely appreciate your business.

This level of service isn’t what we stand for. Changing your IP shouldn’t be the solution *unless* the IP is being blocked by the GFW (great firewall). I’m not sure if that is the reason why they’re changing it? This is just speculation at this point, which may be totally unrelated to your use-case. I’d like to look into this, and offer a solution and provide you with solid information.

Can you provide me a ticket number?

At this time we do not promote/sell OpenVZ as the demand has shifted towards KVM. Our KVM product line is very powerful, competitively priced and a fan favorite.

Would you be open to our KVM product line?

Is RDNS for BOTH IPv4 and IPv6 addresses supported? Is DDoS protection available on both IPv4 and IPv6 protocols? Interested in buying 5 VPS’s.
    Thanks!

    July 20, 2020 @ 2:43 am | Reply
    • Hi SamuelA, thank you for your interest in RackNerd! Good questions by the way.

Good news! DDoS mitigation is available on IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, additionally rDNS can be set for both :) Either through our VPS control panel -or- by ticketing our 24×7 support team. Sometimes, rDNS does require ticketing if the allocated IPv4 space was from a CIDR block less than a /24, and we do this to provide our clients diversity, so we lease smaller blocks from our upstream to accomodate client demands (which is a good thing).

We sincerely appreciate your interest and I am confident you’ll be happy with the level of service we provide.

I recently took a leap of faith and go for the 3.5GB KVM vps. Initially I wanted a month trial due too some proof of concept work I need to validate. As I don’t need the whole year but I did need to test on KVM vps and it turns out pleasantly for my intensive tests on Docker.
Thus confirmed also Docker is working like a charm on Ubuntu 20.04 and 18.04 to those who are interested.
Now, I have to figure out what to do with the remaining months probably transferring my current site over.
Thing I would love to have is more memory since 3.5 GB is borderline though as my other vps is 5 GB.
But so far, I’m satisfied with the availability, decent speed and the affordable pricing of the vps.
