Via this WHT offer. RapidoVPS is a Turkey-based hosting company (their Turkish site here (?) with the same template, which is also used by Newwebsite.com) who is offering cheap VPS in 3 different locations in Europe. UK, Germany and Netherlands — or France if you want Windows but not at the low end box price. Their “Package 3” is $6/month with the following spec
- 256MB guaranteed/512MB burstable memory
- 40GB storage
- 1.5TB/month data for UK and Germany
500GB/month data for Netherlands - OpenVZ/SolusVM
Their domain has only been registered since October 2010. Both NS on the same IP address as the website, which reports itself as PinkHosting.net (btw, nothing pink about that website, and also registered by someone in Turkey) and GloboVPS.com.

LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
I wouldn’t trust a Turkey-based company my data, which is in business since october. And their offer is not bad, but you can find a lot better deals :)
I’m not against Turkey, but in the EU alot of fraud over here comes from Turkey. I wouldn’t try this.
vRozenSch00n, I see that you left them a review. Care to comment on them?
I’m only using it for web proxy. So far there is no complain, and I haven’t got any downtime.
The only issue I got when I can’t access my VPS happens to be the fault of my ISP provider’s routing, so when I use public DNS, it works.
The language barrier is also something that we have to be more patient, that sometimes I misunderstand them, and they misunderstand me.
I am not sure, but it seems that RapidoVPS.com, Vlexi.com, GloboVPS.com, PinkHosting.net and UmmuGulsum.net are related.
I purchased their $2.50 VPS services in both the UK and France and configured them as personal proxy servers. I pass quite a bit of traffic through both of them. Two months so far, and no real issues. I have had to contact them upon account setup as the link to their control panel seemed to have been unmodified from a template, but they were quick to respond and give me the correct information.
It’s not the most polished shop in town, but the service has been reliable, plus it’s good and cheap. Four out of five stars.
I have many previous bad experiences with Turkish VPS hosting.
The last time was with globalturko.com on Germany servers (bydor.com), which suddenly after a 9 month of good hosting started to “fade away” and after a month it “crashed” down. After almost 4 months from that time i still waiting for the backup’s of my server.
Maybe RapidoVPS it has a good platform but i learn the hard way that cheap is not always the solution.
as Christian wrote… “you can find a lot better deals”
I don’t know why people use this kind of web design, bunch of people smiling in front of laptop makes me feel like I’m about to get trolled haha.. :D. Uggh.. and the dude wearing lipstick?
Reaching this site is an irritant due to it not resolving for me, stupid DNS.
But there are not really many better deals for the UK, are there?
So, I was thinking about getting a VPS with RapidoVPS but….
#1. Both their TOS and AUP have Company_name as the Business name, so they are using some type of cookie cutter template that they couldn’t be bothered to even update with their own credentials.
#2. This offer states they offer Netherlands VPS, but if you check their website they only sell UK/France VPSs
#3. There is no test ip to be found on their webpage for any of their locations.
#4. The INFRASTRUCTURE part of their page once again has not even been modified.
“You can modify this page in ‘templates/episode/extras/infrastructure.tpl'”
So, does anyone have a vps from this company? If so can you please let us know how the vps is doing, some benchmarks, test ip, stability, etc? If I can get a little more info, I may actually be interested as the prices are very realistic. So far though, looks like a fly by night company.
Well, honestly, I have an example of a good company with a bad webpage xD And that i curlhost, check it and you can see with your eyes =P And the service is great, my main services are with that company and I love them n_n
Does anyone have a test ip for UK or Germany?
From their ad at WHT (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1021683) they are using good data centers –RapidSwitch, NetDirekt, Softlayer (Seattle) — and the latency is impeccable.
France: 178.32.71.77
Uk: 95.154.240.155
Germany: 95.168.183.215
Us: 173.192.170.77
I was happy with them, but two days ago my VM went down hard.. I opened a ticket, and no reply.. Today the site http://www.rapidovps.com/ is gone!!!
No warning no nothing!
RapidoVps is now RoadLayer.
21.11.2011 i got email from rapidovps to my spam folder, email was following:
I knew it was coming when all nodes and their website went down for roughly 24 hours without any notification earier november.
I would not trust this new company, it’s also turkey based and lots of 404 links on their site.
and they stole their design from newwebsite.com as well.
