ReverseHosts have been featured on LowEndBox once before. Hassan is also fairly active on LowEndTalk. ReverseHosts were founded in September of 2012 and are based in Michigan. Their servers are running: Intel Xeon processors, at least 16GB of RAM and multiple harddrives in RAID1. Reviews on their previous offer were mixed. How has your experience been?

ReverseHosts currently only accept payments via Paypal. They do not have a refund policy, but if you state your case why you’d like one, then they’ll consider it. Additional IPv4 addresses are charged at $2 each per month in San Diego. cPanel/WHM License can be added during checkout for an additional $15 monthly. These servers are unmanaged and will be setup instantly. For more information, take a look at their Terms of Service.

I don’t understand this, what happens if I use my full 512mb of ram on my $13 / quarterly vps, will I be upsetting someone? does that price sound realistic for 512mb of ram? is someone watching me? :)

Was getting around the same numbers. Not bad really.

Unfortunately, decided not to use it. The only OS template I could get to work was Debian x64 minimal image, others would simply not start or not connect. Ubuntu 32-bit would start but I could not connect to it eternally. Running 64-bit OS on 2GB RAM is just a waste. 32-bit is the way to go on smaller instances for most situations.

The CPU was relatively slow. It took 22-25sec to BZIP2 25MB using maximum cmpression. On RamNode VZ it’s between 5 and 7 seconds.

I posted some benchmarks above. I/O is OK, port speed is as advertised at 100mbps.

I had some issues with the “auto” provisioning and it took over six hours for my VPS to be deployed. No answer as to why.

Otherwise, it’s an OK VPS I guess. Nothing that immediately stands out one way or another. I’ve had some issues with AIS (the data center) and other VPS providers advertised on there that use it. Lots of network brownouts and what not. Can’t say whether that was tied to a specific provider. (I’m leaning toward just the data center as a whole.) But it’s too early with this VPS to tell about network stability.

I have a VPS with them and centos installation works well but when I try to install ubuntu, it says it will be installed in 10 minutes but I can never ssh to the vps. when I type my ip address, it doesnot show the default page as well. The VPS shows its using only 2 MB of ram. Does anyone know whats going on?

Yesterday I ordered a VPS with them as well, because it looks like an excellent deal. Unfortunately it does not seem to work out of the box as I hoped it would.

The VPS cannot be reached from the outside in any way except through the serial console. There is no internet access through the serial console as well, which may point to the actual problem.

In next day, I restart my VPS and wait, then I see it online but still can’t connect in ssh.
    Look: 10 minute after:
