LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

ServerAstra - €5.30 128MB KVM SAS VPS in Budapest, Hungary

I spotted an offer from ServerAstra at WebHostingTalk, so I contacted them to see if they could offer a plan at LowEndBox pricing. Andrew, from ServerAstra, responded quite quickly with a coupon enabling you to purchase this plan for $7.

KVM VDS small instance

  • 128MB Ram
  • 1 CPU Core
  • 5GB RAID SAS HDD
  • 10TB Bandwidth
  • 100MBIT/S Port
  • 1 IPv4 Address
  • 1 IPv6/64 subnet
  • KVM/WHMCS
  • Coupon: LOWENDBOX
  • €5.30/Month | Order Link

This is the first time we have featured an offer from both Hungary and ServerAstra! Hopefully if this promotion goes well, ServerAstra will send in some further discounts and offers. ServerAstra were founded in 2011 but have been working in the hosting industry for the past 10 years. It doesn’t look like they offer a control panel, so when ordering you will have to specify which OS you’d like. VNC is provided. If you are an EU citizen without a VAT ID, then the Hungarian 27% VAT rate will also be payable. I found this positive review here. More reviews from you folk would be good.

ServerAstra accept payments via BitPay, Paypal, Bank transfer and Alertpay. According to the WebHostingTalk thread, servers will be provisioned within an hour of ordering. VPS are hosted on Intel Xeon E5540 nodes. The only TOS that I can find is one called “Dedicated Hosting Terms of Service“, which I assume also applies for VPS servers.

Network Information:

Servers are located at the tier 3 Dataplex datacenter in Budapest, Hungary.

Test IPv4: 91.219.236.1
Test File: 10MB file | 100MB file | 1000MB file

    • It is in Hungary. Much more expensive than usa, germany etc. That said, perhaps if the offer goes well they will create some other others next time ;-)

Good location for me but sadly with VAT price goes up to €6.73EUR (8.84539 USD) monthly which this offer don’t make really attractive. There’s not some big difference with or without using discount as 3.71% off is here just to make it possible to be featured at LEB. Nice location but not so attractive LEB offer.

It’s s bit too pricey for me to make another addition to the VPN farm, but looks like a decent deal nonetheless. Would definitely be interested in seeing some benchmarks for future reference.

It is a little bit visionary to give customers 10tb traffic on a 100mbit connection. I don’t know how fast the node itself is, but you can only have 32tb traffic / month outgoing. I think an offer with 1tb traffic for something like 3,50€/month would be a greater deal, but this + VAT is not that interesting for me personally.
I like the location itself. I would love to have a real LEB there (64mb ram,3gb hdd, 200gb traffic for 15€/y ;)

    • Dear Felix,

We are selling KVM not openvz or jails. That’s going to be impossible to run anything on 64mb of ram (except for really really old OS’s with low memory footprint).
You brought us this great idea, we will look into squeezing the price range more because of lowering traffic.
But I doubt €15/y per month, maximum will be €4 per month

    Seems very nice.
Note: You get discount on upgrades as well when ordering.
Got some upgrades and committed to more than 1 month, very fair price imo.
