Has anyone noticed that there seems to be more and more low-end VPS providers popping up from virtually nowhere? Is that the Gloabl Financial Crisis that drives the demand of cheap virtual servers? Or the cheap VPS is the new oversold reseller shared hosting account, where providers from nowhere want to come in to grab a quick buck?
Anyway. SliceBox is offering a 33% off lifetime discount on their OpenVZ on WHT. Their Plan1-Personal was already cheap at $5.95/month, and after the coupon code would become $3.99/month. You get:
- 128MB guaranteed/256MB burstable memory
- 10GB storage
- 250GB/month data transfer
- HyperVM/OpenVZ
Server is with FDC Servers in Denver CO.

The original owner of LowEndBox known as "LowEndAdmin" or "LEA" for short founded LowEndBox in 2008 and created the concept of hosting applications on low resource "Low End Boxes". After creating the roots of the community that we know today, "LEA" stepped aside and allowed others to carry the torch forward.
Any idea whether this web host began in 2005 as per their site footer, “Copyright © 2005, Slicebox.NET. All rights reserved”, or just a couple of weeks ago?

Signed up for their 3.99$ plan, seems pretty fast so far
Hi, sorry about that actually, we are a fresh company, and the discount is for introductory offers, we were checking google search and came to this posting, thanks for ordering. The reason behind starting this is Myself got fascinated about VPS technology itself , plus we had to explore other line of businesses.
Signed up with them, as Bergen Hosting wanted some sort of ID (i.e drivers license, etc..). I’ll report back how it goes.

Haven’t had a problem with them yet. Uptime would be near 60 days if I hadn’t rebooted the VPS for software installation reasons.
