SSD VPS - $5/month 1GB and $7/month 2GB OpenVZ VPS in Buffalo, Los Angeles and Toronto

SSD VPSJared, from SSD VPS, is back with two exclusive offers for SSD VPS! Both offers feature cheap IPv4 address pricing with more available at just $0.25/IPv4/month! SSD VPS have been featured a couple of times before. Compared to last time, they now feature month-to-month pricing rather than annual and the IP pricing was dropped 50%. Nodes are using the Intel Xeon E3-1240v2 Quad Core CPU, 4x 480 GB Intel 520 Series SSD and a LSI 9260-4i with BBU providing hardware RAID 10. Reviews on their previous offer were fairly mixed. Been using them for several weeks now. Solid uptime and performance. I am running very low load applications because I am using this to host a personal blog, so I may not be the best gauge for performance guarantee.

Been using them for a few months.

To me, the support was nice at first, but it quickly became awful.

First, they do NOT sync the time on their nodes, unless you ask them. My VPS was constantly 6 to 8 hours late.

They’ll say that NTPd is not secure, but to me it’s plain stupid. Block incoming traffic with a firewall, problem solved.

Also, I was planning on using a cheap VPS as a VPN to the US, but it took them a week to fix what I needed under OpenVZ to make OpenVPN work.

Then, another week later, they shutdown my machine, migrated it to another host, and gave me bullshit when I asked about the downtime, said nothing happened. Then OpenVPN stopped working, since the fix for openVPN was not applied to that node.

After opening tickets, and resolving the SAME issue, a few days later, they reboot the node for an “mission critital maintenance”, BAM, no more VPN.

As of now, the time is again 8 hours late, and I got tired of opening tickets. I just use the machine for testing purposes, but since I cannot even log properly without accurate time, I’m not even running any service there anymore.

Be aware, their sysadmins (although to me it looks like a one-man-show) are not what you’d call the brightest bunch.

This company is totally SCAM. I sign up one VPS. In 10 mins I had my account setup and one VPS. On the next day I could not login into my account anymore (control panel). I still telnet to my VPS but the control panel. I wrote my username and password on the paper, so this could not be went wrong. I still sent email to request for password reset. However, no body reply my email. I sent the second and the third one, but no one responded. About 1 week after, I also could not telnet to VPS.
MY MONEY and TIME PAID FOR NOTHING.

  5. Paying was easy but it has been couple of days now and not refund. Developer was mad because it was too slow, tried to cancel but they kept asking us to try again because there was some issue with an abuser but I insisted on a refund and no response. Will file a Paypal complaint.

    • Just got my refund. Not sure if my post here had anything to do with it or that it just takes a few days.

VPS’s seemed fine but once you try to use them for anything that where the problem is.
My VPS was suspended for sending email. When I asked why they said.

“We do not allow any email on our network, whatsoever.”

So make sure when you buy this VPS, you dont use if for anything.
