This is Virtio’s second post at LowEndBox, their last offer was in early July when they submitted the same offer but for £4.30, 70p more. Their servers are comprised of HP DL120 G7’s with the E3-1240 processor, 16GB of DDR3 RAM, and SSD storage; supposedly capable of pushing 230,000 IOPS and 1900/1700MB read/write speeds. I have to admit that their website, based on Twitter’s Bootstrap, must be one of the nicest websites I’ve seen from a VPS provider. James was the former owner of Quality Servers and on the previous post he recieved some criticism for his past history. However, to his credit, Virtio is still operating and their doesn’t seem to be any bad reviews. Please share your experience with us below.

On the last offer, one user reported sequential speeds of 640 MB/s. Other benchmarks for this plan can be viewed on serverbear or geekbench. Each vps comes with access to a free, DDoS Protected, AnyCasted DNS service for your domain names. They also give you 100GB of free CDN Bandwidth to use with WorldCDN. • Dino Suarez:

Why rename it the king of io? There are other providers listed in the same price range
on Serverbear that have much better io numbers.

James Todd / James Hadley. I wonder when he will sell virtio.

And lol at the io comments above- what do they expect from ssd drives?

      >> Hopefully never. This is a small operation with no plans to expand, and there is internal use of the service for a university/government-sponsored project. It’s also very helpful for me as a freelance sysadmin to be able to spin up powerful new servers quickly.

  3. Sorry, but how to test your CDN service? Does the machine that test file located have the service?

    • You can trace the route to 656677351.r.worldcdn.net. It’s a standard OnApp CDN service with most of the POPs enabled.

I find myself wanting one of these plans, but I just can’t work out what I’d use it for. Sounds decent though.

How long will this company of James last this time? 3 Months or even after the first bill from the DC comes in?

    >> Whoa! It’s already been longer than that and have always paid costs to service providers, so not sure where that’s coming from.

  9. Nice Provider – Great Disk I/O, pretty constant 100 Mbps, and emailed me to follow-up after the order. Recommended. OnApp was very nice to setup my server as well.
