LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
First comment for them : They are good.
I’m using their service last year, and all are great. :)
Was a client for a few month, service is nothing more then mediocre with good uptime, but poor I/O.
Right! good uptime but poor I/O :)
Add support is sloooow!
Sorry, “And”
Hi guy’s could you send us a ticket so we could take a look at the IO at your particularly node?
Just ordered the VPS B and got active instantly. now i will use it and will be back with the feedback.
how the server performance…
I like the domain name ;)
Not so instant since I supposedly has ben marked as a ‘fraud risk’? Filled a ticked, awaiting response now.
I know the folks over at BuyVM usually say that’s because of non matching data during signup. Like a mailing address of one country while the IP address is from another.
You didn’t order via a proxy, did you?
Nope, but I do live in other city then my credit adress is. But that would be silly, I know about ISPs that proxy your connection by their server 300km away.
Whatever, I’ll wait. I just hope that not too long.
I have opened a ticket with them on 22/12/2011 and still do not have a reply. I opened another after 2 days without a reply (on 24/12/2011) – NONE OF THE TICKETS is answered even now! 12 days without a reply!
And it is not a low priority ticket – it’s a ticket for a terminated VPS that was terminated about a few hours after provision (I did not even uploaded any content) for the reason that I had a pending invoice for my other service. My other service was terminated about 3 months ago and they have probably auto generated a new invoice.
So, they decided that will terminate my new VPS, but without refund, and without providing a service, and even without bothering to reply to tickets for 12 days!
I understand that they might be with smaller staff because of Christmas and New Year, but this is unacceptable.
They might have been a good host in the past, but now it appears that many things are changed. I personally wrote a positive review about them a few months ago, because I WAS very pleased with their services in the past.
Update: They responded to my ticket, unsuspended my service and added 1 free month of service as a compensation.
Hello whynotavps.com
