LowEndBox - Cheap VPS, Hosting and Dedicated Server Deals

OrbitServers – 3 offers from $5/year for a 128MB OpenVZ in Buffalo and Dallas

David, from OrbitServers, has sent in again great offers for LowEndBox readers. This is great news for those looking for affordable long term offers. They included two very cheap annual plans at $5/year and $10/year.

OrbitServer has been working hard to bring you these offers. David has told us that this advertisement is exclusive to LEB and will not appear on any other site or newsletter. OrbitServers are owned and operated by MPSERV LLC, who have been in business for over 2 years and are based in Tennessee. They’re using nodes configured with the E3-1240v3 processor, 32GB DDR3 RAM and which have 4x 1TB Western Digital drives with LSI MegaRAID 9271-4i (w/CacheVault) in RAID10. Although their offers are limited to 100Mbps, their host node is utilizing a 1Gbps Port. Their last offer received generally positive responses with very few negative comments. I bought their deal in August 2014 and I can say.. they do a better job than FTPIT and maybe better than Hudson Valley Host. Excellent customer service and they have the right people in the right roles to keep their customers happy.

The August deal was $1 cheaper, but hey, I think I may buy a few more right nodes now cause its on sale.

Hey guys, I just want to share my experience with Orbit Servers today.

Just saw the offer and was like, hey why not? Good price, might as well just try it….

So I decided to buy 2 VPS packages at one go.

To be honest, I didn’t really have a easy time setting it up.

Firstly, when the servers were setup, I couldn’t connect to it, because the public IPs weren’t issue. Okay sure. maybe just a small issue.

One good thing that came out of it was that the support is very response and I think that’s a big plus :)

However, since a few hours ago, I can say i’m a little disappointed as the servers have been unresponsive twice in a day. Plus now it’s responding very very slowly.

Just hope it gets better though. I won’t write these guys off yet, but that’s just what I experienced today. I really hope Orbit Servers can keep these VPS on and fast.

    • Abel,

Generally we do maintenance on all of our systems, including software updates, on Tuesday nights into Wednesday Eastern Time. I’m not aware of anything we did that could have caused this issue, but I will not rule it out as we were transferring large amounts of data onto our backup systems.

If you have the issue again, please submit a support ticket, as it will help us track down the issue. We are staffed 24/7 and generally handle all requests and issues within a few minutes depending on support volume.

Request to be moved to a different server and they will do it (other companies hassle you on this request). Someone else is prob abusing their node on that server and that will impact you.

I also jumped on this offer for 2 of the 128M vps. Both setup pretty quickly. One is prefect but one is running but does not seem to have routing to/from internet.

I also experienced slowness in trying to enter a ticket for the problem one above. Please guys just let us know whats going on. If the great offer swamped you just let us
    know.

5 hours to reply “We are working on it” 14+ hours after “We are working on it” its still not working. Replied in ticket system still not working. Also asked VPS to be moved to a different node so that the two vps I have in that location are not on same node. I don’t see any progress. Good thing I didn’t need this vps yesterday.

          • Wayne,

I apologize for the delay, I was away from the office yesterday. I am not sure why the tech who handled your updated ticket placed it back on hold, the issue was an easy fix. It is completely unacceptable for a customer to have to wait without an update for that long, even if we are busy, and I will get to the bottom of why this happened.

I normally deal in higher end VPS and Dedicated servers, but couldn’t pass up the $10/year deal. It’s worth it just to have a spare VM around. The VPS was turned out within a couple of minutes after using PayPal for payment. Had an issue with getting into SSH as root due to a PW issue, submitted a ticket – 1h 59m response time (to be fair, I set it at medium priority), which is better than some larger hosts I deal with. Word of advice – stay away from special characters for the initial PW when you setup the VM. If you want to use spec. chars. then reset the root PW after you SSH in.

The Control Panel gives you the basics of what you’d want and a couple of simple graph reports. Re-imaging to various flavors is only a couple clicks away too.

I already have one vps in node DAVZ1 and don’t get many troubles like happening in DAVZ2, but the worst is company REALLY don’t care think this because from time to time happening again all node offline and never see changes or improvements.
