Patrick from GarmanOnline emailed me a few days about about pies… Is this an American thing that calls their servers “pies”? :) Anyway, virtual private servers are just slice of pies, and you can get a slice of their new servers for $6/month which has
- 256MB memory
- 15GB storage
- 150GB/month data transfer
- OpenVZ/SolusVM
Moreover, you can get even smaller slices. Two more sizes are available:
- 1/2 Slice — 128MB memory, 8GB storage, 80GB/month data. $3/month
- 1/3 Slice — 80MB memory, 5GB storage, 50GB/month data. $2/month
Here is the Ordering link. Their new servers are with Data102 in Colorado Springs, CO. Currently all servers are on 100Mbps but will soon be upgraded to 1Gbps. IPv6 will also be available soon pending SolusVM support.
Not the one with the best price, but Patrick has been providing good & personal services from what I read from the comments posted here.

It’s just getting close to Thanksgiving here — which means lots of PIE!!!
So I’ve got pie on my mind, and selling VPS in slices… looks like PIE to me!
I’ve heard slices before. Maybe slices of pies?
Back in the day, the SUN SPARCStation 2, 4, 5, 10, and 20 were referred to as “pizza boxes”, due to their size and shape. Considering they maxed out at, I think, quad 110MHz processors, 1 GB of RAM, and about a 36GB SCSI drive, Patrick’s “slices” are a bit more powerful. :D
Argh. Those were the days. Had a SpareStation 5 as my work station in one of my first jobs, and had to use Slowaris.
My home dev machine is dual 550mhz, 1GB RAM and a 9.1GB SCSI drive :) but its huge and nothing like a pizza box.
Yeah, and finger lickin’ yummy turkey too.
100Mbps but will soon be upgraded to 1Gbps. IPv6 will also be available soon pending SolusVM support.
when it’ll implemented?
Gigabit is planned by the end of the month.
IPv6 we are waiting on SolusVM support – their ETA was initially Nov5 but no updates have come down the line yet.
Also waiting on native support of unmetered incoming bandwidth, which is going to come at the same time as IPv6.
ANYTHING Torrent related (legitimate or not) running or hosted on your service will result in immediate termination. This will not be tolerated.
My server was terminated and all data deleted within an hour of turning on transmission (even though it was using maybe 2mb of memory to run idle). Harsh I think, but just a warning so everyone knows GarmanOnline has a no tolerance policy on torrent files (yes .torrent files themselves, not even torrenting).
Yes, no torrent or torrent related as Patrick explained in the previous post http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/garmanonline-5-12-512mb-openvz-vps-exclusive-offer/:
“Anything torrent related – so yes. No torrent files, no torrent downloading apps, nothing torrent related. We are very firm/strict about this.”
and the reason is simple:
“If anyone has a legitimate use of torrents – sorry to inconvenience you but unfortunately the bad apples ruined it for everyone.”
Whole day problems with garmanonline VPS also site is down ??
There were some issues yesterday with some abusers in the network that caused all VPS on the same node to time out and have extremely slow network speeds. They were removed from the system and everything has been online without problems since then.
IPv6 is HERE! Thanks to the update just pushed out by SolusVM. Every VPS order has 8 IPv6 IP’s assigned to it immediately, more are available upon request (for free).
