Got tipped by “CG” about RockstarVPS‘s current promotion, which can be found on WebhostingTalk at the moment. $5/month for the following VPS, and use coupon code MADNESS to get first month free.
- 1024MB guaranteed/2048MB burstable memory
- 25GB storage
- 1TB/month data transfer
- 3 IPv4 addresses
- OpenVZ/SolusVM
Direct sign up link, and the promotion lasts until end of March. Servers in Detroit, Phoenix and Seattle, according to this comment. That is a lot of memory, and IP addresses for 5 bucks a month. Would you trust these guys, especially when they don’t even have a website (currently going to their website gets redirected to WHMCS straight away)? Domain has been around since July 2010.
According to “CG”, RockstarVPS is well-funded with huge adult hosting business + a glowing review. It’s still way too cheap for me.
Update: Here is a link to the AUP with a long list of “Prohibited Applications and Activities”, including
- Bulk emails
- Pornographic/adult content
- Proxy servers
- Audio/video streaming servers
- Game servers
- IRC servers/clients
- P2P applications
- Web hosting resellers
Or pretty anything they can think of.

The last time I check they’re blocking (not even able to open the site) some Asian country.
Yes.
And after confirming it with them, they said that they have to do that because of many fraud cases.
I am in Indonesia, and they are confirming that they are blocking any connection from Jakarta. While many internet provider in Indonesia are centralized, and the main connection are goes to and from Jakarta.
well, they turned me down for “fraud” reasons too. I’m from germany, so I’d suggest they simply don’t accept non american people.
Yup, cannot connect without a proxy.
Even to client’s VPSs or just their site?
Never use them unless you want to lose your data if you host any sites they made that against their terms and conditions. They will lock your site without any access if any of your clients do anything wrong. Plus with me they changed my ip without any notice causing me days downtime.
Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to billing.rockstarvps.com
I seen this offer on WHT, guy is rude as hell, he comes up with ToS “on the go”, so 1 day you may be ok with hosting example game server, next day he says no game server, we will get you the same plan for 3 times more (15$) if you want to host game server and well guy is so professional with “YEARS OF EXPERIENCE” that when you go to https you see an awesome ssl message “Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long”.
Really LEA this is a second scam offer after “myresellerhost.info” that is on the frontpage.
Thanks for your comment, these hosting providers should be avoided — I almost got tempted to try it.
But that would only feed these ‘scammers’.
That’s the problem with these insane price/spec deals like clubuptime.
They exclude whatever will actually USE that ram and transfer…so they get left with the people hosting a small blog or just learning linux.
Well said. Here’s a funny story:
A friend of mine wanted to treat me with some coffee at StarBuck’s cafe and just before we entered the cafe, he said to me, “you can have anything you like as long it is no more than half a buck.” I was broke at that time so at the end I ordered a glass of mineral water while inhaling the sweet aroma of the coffee.
WTF? A mineral water here is well over $7-9…
Damn ab! Where do you live? Maybe here in MX you can get a 2L bottle for 1.5-2USD
Heh heh heh, here a 15 Liters mineral water cost around $1.75.
I live in one of the poorest rich country in the world where the minimum wage is less than $125/mo, an IT Technician only earn less than $300/mo, an IT Analyst only earn less than $500/mo, while the minimum cost of living for a newly wed is around $700/mo
OMFG, $1.75! When we talk about mineral water, is about carbonated water right? Like soda, but just water xD
Anyway, here normal (natural) water in bottle is more expensive than $1.75 :P Maybe you can get that 15 liters for… $2-$2.5
And Mexico is a poor country too u_u Where are you from?
It’s plain water not carbonated, but here in ID, a 1.5 L coca cola is around $0.75. Canned gatorade is around $0.50.
I consider myself lucky to have side income from the internet, as my day job salary will only last for about 2 weeks.
Hmmm, then we are over the same pricing.
Here are a lot of brands of “coca-cola”. There is “pepsi” for example. coca-cola is the most expensive. And a 3L bottle is arount $1.2-1.5 :D
ID means Indonesia right?
I need an internet business too u_u
Si, mi amigo, ID es Indonesia.
Yeah Internet-based publishing business pretty much puts everyone on the equal ground. Maybe I should also move to one of those countries with lower living index. 600ml of mineral water can easily cost $2 here. Mi Goreng (an Indonesian product that’s also sold here) costs $0.55 a pack!!!
Well, Mi Goreng (fried noodles) is around $0.20 here.
Belgium: 1,5L of Coca-cola = €1,44 or $2
AAAAAAAAAAAARGH I am hungry =( LOL
@SwordfishBE That is very expensive :|
btw, I am still thinking in use this offer as a big backup center :D
You know, that’s not a very fair statement. That only applies to our OpenVZ platform as we don’t allow things that are notorious for causing service interruption to users.
You can do what ever you want (provided it’s legal) on our Xen platform.
It might not be a very fair statement, but it is honest.
Marketing wise, the offer is very tempting. Technical wise, you need to have or to be a very damn good admin in terms of balancing the resources (e.g. placing the right customer in the right node) and you need to have a spare box ready to deploy in case the customer wants to use all the agreed upon resources. Cheers :)
Matt I think you know as well as I do that 100gb transfer per 512mb ram is ridiculous.
(and for any newcomers reading this, that is the plan they had before jacking up their prices).
As for “things that are notorious for causing service interruption to users”, that is synonymous with “things that actually use resources”. Restricting “Graphical User Interfaces”, “proxy servers”, or “voice servers” is cherry picking your users.
ClubUptime provides excellent services as well. I have VPS with them about 4 months already. I host 10 domains with summarized traffic of about 1000 unique users per day. There is not a such “low end box” like this with ClubUptime. I have used no more than 1/2 of the traffic and may be HDD space. Stability and responsibility is more important for me than a massive amount of HDD space and terabytes of traffic with “promised” speeds.
Now I’m having few low end VPS boxes just to test, but there is no comparison with ClubUptime:
RockStarVPS ($0 first month): 2011-03-15 00:22:38 (10.2 MB/s) – `100mb.test’ saved
BurstNet: 2011-03-15 09:24:58 (15.1 MB/s) – `100mb.test’ saved
ClubUptime: 2011-03-15 08:25:53 (17.8 MB/s) – `100mb.test’ saved
myresellerhost.info: 2011-03-15 09:27:23 (11.0 MB/s) – `100mb.test’ saved
W2Servers: 2011-03-15 08:29:47 (36.3 MB/s) – `100mb.test’ saved
CityNetHost: 2011-03-15 09:29:03 (2.38 MB/s) – `100mb.test’ saved
private build & owned server: 2011-03-15 08:34:48 (6.91 MB/s) – `100mb.test’ saved (in Varna, Bulgaria)
So, as you see – ClubUptime is in “high-end”
And for RockStarVPS – they are so generous to provide us with a “FREE” month to test…
It’s not hard to be “high end” among those hosts. I am sure that you can do better from this what lowendbox blog can offer :P
“1000 unique users per day”
That is very small, especially for a website. You are exactly the kind of client that clubuptime is banking on. I had a relatively small wordpress blog that had around 2k unique per day and I had a couple pictures on it. I was sitting around 200 gb per month.
It used less than 128 mb ram, and the Clubuptime package on here was 512 mb ram with 100 gb transfer lol.
@bob — PHP + Nginx is relatively light weight. When you have sites written in Java powered by some memory-intensive DB, then you’ll need that 512MB before needing 100GB/month.
Or if you are providing web services/API end-point/etc, which is mostly text.
LowEndBox.com does more than 2k UV per day, and I use probably 40GB/month :P So ClubUptime’s offer is certainly suitable.
I doubt that a java servlet using only 100 gb/month would take that much memory. A java app certainly has a lot of overhead (10-20mb rss), but you can adjust the maximum heap size to be under 128 mb.
And also I think your blog could be hosted on a shared web provider for cheaper. Your pictures are tiny and all the icons here are hosted on gravatar. The images that were on my blog were 10-100 kb each which I think is normal.
@bob — ha. Do not under-estimate the memory bloatness of Java :) At a job I worked for previously (over 10 years ago), I developed multi-tiered Internet gaming server in Java hosted on Sun E450 boxes. All API calls so minimum traffic, but uses a hell lot more than 512MB :P
And I think you have missed the point. LowEndBox is not about finding cheap way to hosting WordPress blogs.
@lowendadmin
10 years ago is a long time ago concerning the internet.
It has long since then been possible to specify the maximum heap size with the -Xmx command line argument. Java is perceived to be a memory hog because the recommendation that you use a large heap size to lower garbage collections. There is nothing stopping you from lowering the heap size if memory is preferred over GC pauses.
And also I am just suggesting the right tool for the job. If you are going to just host a wordpress blog, doesn’t it make sense to go with shared hosting for half the cost? It just seems hilarious that some VPS providers essentially limit their users to web-hosting while charging more than a shared web-hosting.
Argh. It has always been able to specify the heap size via the -Xmx argument. My point was — if it is taking much memory for a sophisticated Java app that does little traffic 10 years ago (it was just Java2 mind you), HOW MUCH MORE memory would a Java app take 10 years later, after all the extra bloat Sun/Oracle has put in over the years.
Of course you can adjust the heap size. JVM does its own memory management and on Linux it just happens to use the kernel over-commit feature. Just that your app would get OutOfMemoryException when the memory size is too small :P
JVM gc and memory usage has improved over the years. An integer or pointer in Java is 4 bytes as it is in C. The difference is that Java avoids cleaning up the heap as late as possible so it looks like it is using a huge amount of memory.
http://www.latenighthacking.com/projects/2004/translateGcLog/chart.gif
As you can see in this jetty screenshot, serving Java webpages comes with a large static overhead, but even ignoring that, a java website at the scale of a wordpress blog will use nowhere near 512mb ram.

Yes, as I have said “too cheap for me”. Or too good to be true. The owner here has not even bothered to set up a website or getting Apache to talk SSL properly. That is not very assuring on how long will he keep the business.
They’re using sentris which is spotty at best. A long time ago I managed a gameserver community that picked up 4 – 5 boxes with them – biggest waste of money possible.
– Network lagged
– They kept dropping our ‘private lan’ speeds to a blistering 10Mbit
– They gave us multiple bad harddrives
– In the end we only got back around 30% of what we paid and we asked for a refund within the first week.
It was all sorts of nasty.
Francisco
No offense but then why list them? (And provide links to boot) You’ve mentioned many times over that this site is taking too much time to manage. Maybe not writing up these providers that I wouldn’t trust to host my secondary DNS should be something to consider.
Unless of course you;re hoping to have all those spammers and abusers come out of the wood work and knock them off line. If that’s what you want, I can point you to a different sort of website. ;) (And no it’s not 4chan.)
Why? This blog is serving me when I investigate on the cheap providers. If I found something that is questionable, I write about it. Also due to my limited time I have no way to do full investigation. As you can see that many problems only surface after the “community” here dug into it.
@drmike I still prefer all of them listed – how otherwise to talk about them? To pick best, most suitable, etc… I see more and more complains around how this and that host don’t offer enough memory, enough HDD, and similar things… for 3$ – 5$ which is complete nonsense.
Everyone have own personal “vision” what should and what shouldn’t be listed. I prefer to see listed all “lowend” (we know what low end means here, don’t we?) hosts and then to pick most suitable for my needs, budget and preference.
Not being listed means less informations about host. Do you consider this as good – even if we talk about “bad” host? Expressed opinions, experiences, findings… about every host makes things easier for us. At the end of the day is still up to every individual to decide for him/herself. To either go or not to go with certain host.
Yeah, I am tempted too :D
But if they say no game server… that is my main usage ¬¬
And no website, no legal docs, etc.
don’t buy anything from this guys, they treat you like a garbage without knowing they are..
Well, if you haven’t noticed, it’s a month free so a month trial.. ;)
Looks like fully unusable according to their ToS. Nothing is allowed :)
lol, and the owner is very rude!
and WHT support them ( I was complaint about their service on wht and all of my post get deleted, wtf) I just asking about why he say me as fraud?
btw, let’s wait the owner come and explain here :)
I signed up – why not? The first month is free anyways. Does anyone want anything run/tested on the VPS once I get it?
The money refund feature…
Just an update: IRC is allowed if you ask in a ticket – they said some of their upstream providers don’t allow IRC so they had to change my IP’s route.
I’ve had a VPS w/ Rockstar for 2 months and I can tell none of the comments here are from clients. The VPS performance is excellent and the support has gone above and beyond for me (and this on an unmanaged VPS). They offer discounted or free VPS for new customers to try them out so anyone calling it a scam is just being ignorant.
The owner is very blunt but no worse than a lot of owners I see on WHT and the people he’s been blunt with seem to have it coming, in my opinion. People who couldn’t pass the fraud prevention system or got caught w/ warez or hacking scripts seem to be the loudest on WHT complaining. They do have a strict TOS but it’s forbidding the same things every other host does and a lot of them say you need permission, not that they’re banned outright. The admin sent an email out saying this was so they can place people on the right node for what they use VPS for. If true, that’s a pretty good thing. I’ve had VPS since Linode first came online and I’ve seen it all – good and bad. Rockstar is getting a ton of crap they don’t deserve, probably from the competition.
Actually I have only seen the AUP (and now linked to the blog post). I think it is far more than “forbidding the same things every other host does”. I don’t think Linode would limit you hosting private proxy, IRC and adult content, would they?
And with a clause saying
I guess they won’t get any SaaS business either.
It says you need permission for those things, not that they’re “forbidden” and last I checked almost no one allows IRC and resellers usually need reseller accounts, no?
@cg – “last I checked almost no one allows IRC” – you should check again as you seems outdated here. More and more hosts realize that “internet relay chat” isn’t something bad and illegal by default and allow it. Most of those (not all, just most..) which still put it under “abuse” in their TOS have no clue what IRC is anyway and mostly use non-original c/p TOS.
“and resellers usually need reseller accounts, no?” No – it’s a VPS! It makes no sense to forbid “web hosting resellers” on VPS. Infact this can be one of basic function of VPS for some people. Forbidding something like that is like cripple VPS from basic functionality.
You need “written permission” or whatever it means — that would surely be a turn off for most people.
IRC — plenty of provider allows it. Linode certainly does, and web based IRC client, Mibbit, is hosted with Linode. Less on the low end but I am sure many do. BuyVM for example.
Reseller — the terms is not just about reselling. To me it is more like forbidding hosting websites or applications for 3rd party for a fee. For example I can develop a new hosted blogging solution that competes with WordPress VIP, Tumblr and Posterous. It seems that I can’t charge a fee for it as it would break the ToS.
Their ToS/AUP needs serious rework.
* Activities which create a higher than average load on shared resources compared to other users on the same system
So, everything
No not everything. That just means roughly half of the users (who are above average) are violating the ToS :P
But when you’ve removed the top half of the users (because, by definition, they violate the ToS) you are left with a new user base. Half of those will now be violating the ToS, so ….
But I just wanted to deploy 20 gameservers in this vps :D :D (I can in 2GB xD )
The irony of this is in the name. Rockstar being the developer of the Grand Theft Auto games:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockstar_Games
What actualy do they allow on there servers?
I was wondering about that as well. What do they allow? Just personal sites?
Odd. You must be reading a different T.O.S. or a different WHT thread than I am.
I see, and I quote, they ALLOW adult as long as it’s legal.
I also see that they OFFER game server hosting plans. So that basically contradicts some of the comments posted here. Kind of funny. In the end, it sounds like a bunch of people terminated off their plans griping on this site.
I also know for a fact they do not use Sentis for their back end. Which further reinforces that most of the people making these remarks are not actually clients, nor used them for hosting, but competitors and people terminated.
No offense to the site owner. Just balancing the opinion with fact.
On WHT thread it says:
However on AUP that you need to agree to as part of ordering process, it says
No offense to the above commenter. Somehow in that universe “adult content” == “pornographic content” is just an opinion not a fact.
I am a bit surprised to see this host still running. I saw them like 2-3 months ago with cPanel VPS offer for like the cost of cPanel license itself. Since they didn’t have site back then I decided to pass the offer and wait to see if they will mature. If they couldn’t have the site built in this time they are probably not worth the time to check them out. Well at least they have some normal non promo offers now.
I wonder if hosting high traffic sites will be unacceptable soon …
They offered me a place to host some content (scripts). Was given the free VPS package with 512/1024MB which I’ve been using for the past 2 weeks or so. There was just one occasion where the network was slow as hell, otherwise its been ok.
4 cores CPU.
Port speed is 1GB but seems to have slowed down a little now. Used to be 40-50MB/s or so.
Disk is around 70-100MB/s so not too bad for a free VPS.
I’m not sure how they’re doing it at such low prices, but it seems like their CEO has some moolah to spend on equipment/buying up hosts. Maybe another Virpus in the making, lets find out in due time :)
Well an update on the box, it really is horrible. It’s unusable.
How so?
It hangs frequently whenever you try to do anything on it.
Hm… odd. It seems to be working fine on my VM
Well, I ssh’d in, it hanged, I ran top (hanged for another 2 minutes) then crashed hanged for longer than I care to wait when I tested it further.. But oh well, maybe I got a bad one.
Most likely – submit a ticket and see what they think. Their response time was quick from the one ticket I submitted. I’ve ssh’d in and have run apt/scripts without issue so far
Ahh. They don’t even get SSL enabled on their WHMCS.
I just signed up. My VPS isn’t ready yet. I’ll porting about their service soon.
I’m testing the service with them.
I used some trick I read here; installing vnc + kde + firefox and just open a lot of tabs op firefox till I hit around 900mb of memory use.
I just checked on it and the proces was killed and my burst memory has been taken away. cheers!
:|
Woah, that’s not exactly super fast disk throughput..
But is better than almost any of my VPS’s
http://www.lowendtalk.com/questions/153/how-fast-can-you-io-on-your-lowendbox?page=5#4485
Not bad if I consider price…
is the offer closed?
Dont think so.
Do note that the offer says the servers are in either Seattle, Detroit or Phoenix. Therefore I think it would be best to add a note on which location you are getting.
I got one in Seattle (in SpectrumNet) with okay network throughput but below average IO, and occasionally hung similar to what The Freebie has described. 8x E5606 core throttled at 266MHz each, and somehow has 3x IPv4 addresses.
[root@test ~]# dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=16k count=102400 conv=fdatasync
102400+0 records in
102400+0 records out
1677721600 bytes (1.7 GB) copied, 85.1461 seconds, 19.7 MB/s
Ok, I decided to try.. :P
I hope this vps will be good :D
Udate, I got my vps! 30-45 minutes maybe :D
After some questions because my gaming clan u_u
Well, I got it in Seattle too, spectrumnet is the same network than my curlhost main vps.
My instance is different
4 cores of:
I/O is over 30MB/s
Network over 40Mbits
Everything is going well.
PS: I confused this offer with the big 250GB offer :(
That’s good. 4x 1600MHz > 8x 266.6MHz IMO.
I don’t get how they can be funded by a large adult hosting business, but they don’t allow adult hosting on their servers?
I prefer not to host with those that also host adult content, I just find it contradictory that they finance their operations that way, but don’t allow it for anyone else to host on their servers.
Who would provide cheap service to potential competitors? :)
As the AUP says: ask if you need it
A loadimpact test seems to knock the vps off-line with response times of 1.3 mins and the test times out after 20 user subtest
Same thing as with Nordic VPS, that’s a massive oversell if a VPS can’t handle that test up to 50.
It seems this one can’t handle a simple phpinfo page at 50 users without crashing.
My hostrail VMs don’t stop working at 50 users, but the 1pu’s hit their CPU quota after about 25 users running a MyBB forum.
Mine can manage 50 users in phpinfo without problems o_O
Also I am using apache xD (and upgraded from lenny to squeeze, apache 2.2 and php 5.3) Less than 400 mb ram with that 50 users
Unixbench score:
My VPS has been canceled due to over load. WOW!
I was very interested to know what did I do there!!!
What did you have running on the unit?
Or what do you want to own up on to having run on there?
I installed centmin there for testing :)
signed up this morning, 10 hours further, still no access details
Your IP 220.85.1.XXX has been banned
Ban Reason: Banned due to Orders

LOL
What a joke!
I ordered, paid 1 second later, waited patiently and didn’t even complain when a full day passed without my order being filled and now my order is canceled.
No explanation, no email, nothing … oh well: LOL
… so WHY again do they place an offer, if they don’t want to sell? Beyond me …
Dunno, my VPS was deployed in 30-45 mins, despite a mail talking about no gameservers (my domain was about a gaming clan xD)
And everything is working fine now
Rather than “pay”, you could have ordered with the promo code that gives you 1st month free so $0 upfront cost. Mine got activated relatively quickly, although the welcome emails all landed in spam box.
Oh, that’s true, $0 :D I forgot it.
So me and my partner signed up for a VPS with them tonight(sunday) to mirror our site. We both ordered simply for the fact, we carry 2 vps’s per company typically(sql/www split). Apparently they don’t want to honor the promotion as they claimed the order did not pass “fraud prevention”. Interesting how maxmind wasn’t used and all information provided is accurate as my phones are sitting right here.
I guess with offers “this good” they can pick and choose their customers. I’ll stick to the other top-notch providers I currently have that I found here.
Since we needed Seattle, we’ve selected DMEHosting instead. They at least used MaxMind and their system called with a PIN… imaging that, I answered my phone. I like their speeds anyway… going to help my AUS visitors since we upgraded the site. Thanks Rockstar, I’m appreciative of the nudge towards DME. ;)
same here, I’d consider rockstar VPS to be a scam. Turned me down, and they did not even call me…
Well, another black sheep to avoid for the future.
Does anyone know anoter good VPS deal, cheap, location in US/EU, more than one ip, decent traffic good HDD?
Ok, bad experience.
I don’t know exactly if I must complain about this… but this is my story:
Today I submit a cancellation to my service, just in case the next invoice appears and then I can’t cancel until the next cycle. This request was a cancellation at the END of CYCLE
Some hours later, I got a mail, your vps is down…
Now, I am trying to login to the client panel. They also DELETED my account ¬____¬!! As far as I know, all the hosting providers cancel your service but don’t delete your account. Also, they didn’t told me about the inmediate shutdown, despite the request type (end of cycle)
Overall the service was great, but I can see any way to use all that ram eficiently :P No without game servers or heavy java/ruby apps.
Was free, ok, but for me this is a bad behavior u_u
Well, it seems like it’s time to play one of Frank Sinatra’s classics:

Ok seriously, is this company run by a 12 year old or something.. Because they don’t have a clue how to run a company and they start throwing around accusations, and search through my private stuff for no reason at all. I got accused of running an open proxy because my IP was listed in njabl, but the thing is.. it was added in 2004 and just hasn’t been requested for removal. But because it’s on there I’m getting accused of running an open proxy and violating TOS. It’s safe to say this company is a joke and I highly recommend you stay well away from it. That is all.
I just signed up with Rockstar to give them a try. The free month is no longer available, but I decided for $5 what the heck. My VPS was provisioned in under 10 minutes, and seemed to be running well until PayPal decided to put a random restriction on my PayPal account for no apparent reason. Now they are reviewing the money I sent to Rockstar for whatever screwy reason PayPal can try to come up with. Second time PayPal has restricted my 9 year old verified business PayPal account in a month so I don’t think it has anything to do with Rockstar. Anyway, Rockstar of course then suspended my account since PayPal put a hold on their money, and now we wait while PayPal fixes their screw up. I can’t blame Rockstar for this since it’s PayPal’s fault. Up until PayPal screwed up the payment transaction, the VPS seemed to be running pretty well. I can vouch that their CentOS 5.5 image is pretty current out of the box. Only needed 6 or 7 updates. Download speed for the updates seemed pretty good although I didn’t look at the exact speeds.
Well it started off fairly well and went downhill from there. As my previous comment stated, PayPal messed this up originally with some sort of fraud detection that appears to have triggered off something to do with the vendor per the PayPal agent I spoke to about it. I’ve now managed to get the transaction cleared and through, but Rockstar is now claiming they haven’t received payment although it’s been 8 hours since PayPal sent them notice stating the transaction now cleared. I even called PayPal again this afternoon to have them resend a notice to Rockstar that the transaction was complete, but still my account remains suspended and unusable. At this point, my opinion of Rockstar has changed from positive initially to believing they are very unprofessional. Their customer support states they have no way to verify whether a payment has been made to an account as quote “Only the CEO has access to the financial accounts so it’s not a simple issue of me logging into the company paypal account”. And their “billing rep” who does have access to the PayPal account according to the same email that says only the CEO does, has left the building many hours ago to have dinner with his family (it’s now 9:30pm billing rep time so I doubt he’s having dinner still). So based on these statements, I have to assume the CEO and billing rep are the same person. And their customer support appears to be someone untrusted with more information than they spoon feed him since, per their response, the billing rep manually forwards all billing transaction status emails to customer support. This rather than the emails (or CC) being sent directly so customer support can efficiently deal with billing situations as needed when the sole billing rep leaves the building. No wonder it takes a long time sometimes for the VPS to be created for some people. If the billing rep leaves, the business halts. 8+ hours during office hours to NOT confirm they’ve received a PayPal payment. Looks like I got really lucky last night with the almost immediate provisioning, and now I’m in the rut of the billing rep being gone so nothing happens at this company.
I can’t say I’d currently recommend them unless something changes really quick.
Well, the owner is a giant narcissists douchebag, imagine when you need support, you’ll deal with this guy –> http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1033862 (read the response from “Barefootsies”) :D
Ahhh…so that’s who this is.
Quote from the email I just received which I assume is forwarded from the guy himself:
—–
I did not get notification until this evening on this being cleared up.
I was out with the GF this evening as previously notified.
It is now resolved, but his gripe is not with us. Take it up with PP.

Do I care that he was out with his GF? Do I think his GF takes precedence over my service I paid him for? Absolutely not. Who tells customers that?
So they say it is resolved and payment is cleared, but my control panel is still suspended now. Great times. I sure won’t put anything important on this VPS if I end up keeping it at all. I’ve had a much more professional experience with ClubUptime that I signed up with after things went haywire with this VPS last night. A Xen VPS at ClubUptime too. I have a $15/year OpenVZ VPS at BuyVM, and they are great also even at that ridiculous low price. I’d buy more from them (ven large plans) if they had any. Have a few momentary glitches there where my monitoring system says it is unreachable, but for $15/year I’m not going to complain about a few glitches that appear to be more network routing than the VPS itself. I use it as a backup RADIUS server that is hardly ever needed so it serves its purpose well enough for that cheap price.
LOL yeah, it sucks xD
I saw this in the frantech twitter

Damn, where here goes another hour or so wasted.
:P
Well, the owner (barefootsies at WHT and some other forums before that) is a well known spammer. I’ve known him from years back; he’s a freak that has intercourse with human feet, hence his nickname. Don’t believe me? just google barefootsies gfy. He’s a rude delusional guy, he’s always been, he’ll always be. I couldn’t believe when I saw him over at WHT selling a service. Moreover, I -KNEW- the tricks he’d pull beforehand.
My advice? STAY AWAY, or come back here and over WHT to cry later.
Server outage with total loss of information on the server. Granted there was nothing critical on the server; no credit, 2 days of outage and no explanation of what why it occurred. Don’t bother with this joke of a host.
they are fraud company i ordered seo vps with them and they did not send for 2 days and then they said they have refunded paypal does not show any refund i have opened a dispute no reply from there
DO NOT ORDER from here. I ordered the special advertised here and 1) Somehow their ordering process adds more on to your hostname request, 2) They terminated and refunded monies with no explanation. I emailed the main guy with no response, I opened a ticket and thier response was ”
Hello,
Please hold on. Concerned department will update you soon.
Regards,
Manny”
What sort of company is this? I mean really. I have a hosting company and would never treat a client or perspective client like this. I needed a Teamspeak server in Seattle and these guys cant even correctly make a sale.Save your time and money and skip this.
The reply sounds like some form of outsourced support team.
Maybe that’s just me, though.
