Johannes, from fileMEDIA, has sent in one of their plans to be listed. You can get 50% off your first month by using the “lowendbox” promotional code which is exclusive to LowEndTalk and LowEndBox.

fileMEDIA are a German based hosting provider who were founded in 2008. They operate as a ‘Einzelunternehmer’, which roughly translates to sole trader in English but they’re hosting around 5000 vps. This is the first time that we’ve featured fileMEDIA on LowEndBox but not too long ago they self listed this offer on, our sister site, LowEndTalk. Like many German hosting providers, after you exceed your bandwidth allocation you will be limited to 10 MBit/s flat port speed. According to their website, their nodes are using the E3-1270v2 CPU, 32GB of RAM and 12 to 24 hard drives in hardware RAID10. Their website seems to only be in German, so if you need any help please do comment below and I will be happy to assist with my German skills.
Additional IPv4 can be purchased at €1.49 each per Month but additional IPv6 addresses can be added for free. They accept payments via PayPal, Credit Card or Bank Transfer. As for refunds, they offer a 100% refund before your vps is created but they can offer 7 day trials if you get in touch. As their terms are in German, I have read over them and it appears that Tor, Proxies, IRC servers and bouncers as well as Distributed Computing (SETI client, Einstein @ Home etc) are prohibited. If you can speak german or can find a translator which allows https, you may want to view their Terms of Service.

Uh… EuServ Network… always overselled as hell. It’s a wonder to gain more then 40Mbit in one stream from that network. fileMEDIA could be a good provider (Never was with it) but on that network… i would not recommend it.
Really? I dont think so, take a look at serverbear.com. 40 MB/s or 50 MB/s to Hetzner, Cachefly and OVH should be nice.
Already try their XMAS deal,works very well,1 Tb = unlimited traffic,lots of images on KVM,but-this offer for one time only,not recurring as well I know :(
From your testfile:
Serverius NL: 1,81 MB/s
Hetzner DE: 2,67 MB/s
Nine CH: 1.95 MB/s
Cable DE: 1.34 MB/s
CoreBackbone DE: 1.71 MB/s
Torqhost EE: 892K/s
SSDVPS US: 612K/s
Btw. Connecting to lg.filemedia.net|2a02:180:b:1::bf5e:a3ba|:80… failed: Connection refused.
I also got the following:
Very Poor Network Speed from NY, USA.
Need English website and support. The ssd plan looks good.
English support is given. Johannes english is excellent. I have offered to assist with translating his website if he’d like.
E3-1270v2 CPU, 64GB of RAM!! How is it possible?

You are here also ! :P You are a genius Man ! :P
Bro, I think the Network is oversold or something else. I got the following Net Speed:

There is no problem with my VPS as far I know from all trusted location I get 10 MBPS or above because here is 100 MBit NIC Connected !
Little big of funny. This CPU = 32GB RAM.
It’s hard to come by knowledgeable people on this subject, but you seem like you know what you’re talking about!
Thanks
Sorry, Johannes, this isn’t really fast:
lg.filemedia.net -> accelerated: 1.06M/s
lg.filemedia.net -> OVH: 910K/s
lg.filemedia.net -> nacamar: 438KB/s
lg.filemedia.net -> torqhost: 1,49M/s
Just picked one up.
Works like a treat!

64GB E3s? What is this black magic?
We having E5 (2620) and E3 (1230v2, 1270 and 1270v2) in production. Something wrong in the description. E3 max. 32GB and our E5 have max 96GB RAM.
Some serverbear.com benchmarks from our customers. Take a look: http://serverbear.com/9810/filemedia
Looking glass vps are not the fastest, only 1vCPU and 128MB RAM..you should get a free trial vps to test ;)
Every provider tries to provide fastest speed on their test file VPS so that we can check the speed. I’m wondering only you are different !
Don’t see how CPU/RAM would make a big different on the network speed unless something has been overloaded so as a looking glass it’s fine and the speed test should show this.
Sure, the small vps is on a heavy load based on lot´s of downloads, traceroutes..Take a look at liam´s box, that have more ressources and located on the same switch..
We want offer an speedtest that is under production host. Sure we can provide an speedtest server on a ssd box with hugh vCPUs and memory, but we would offer an speedtest that shows what a very very small box (small dann PowerBox micro..) can do.
Hi,
I also think that low config VPS is not a reason to get less internet speed. There must be oversold network !
Good Question, but all our servers using the same switches as gateway. Liam and all other customers get better speed ;) Get a free trial server and test it..
Hi Johannes,
From your KVM VPS, I got the following speed from Hetzner DC:
What will you say about this ??
It hardly went above 3.50 MBPS where from my NY VPS I got 8.21 MBPS touched !
I confirm, poor network.
Download test file from OVH.
100 000 000 1,48M/s ds 47s
Are torrents allowed?
Thanks
I’m using their services for about 16 days and pretty satisfied! Great deal! :-)

I can only comment on the support as I didn’t have a chance to use the service. In two words: stay away.
I ordered the basic vps and never got any emails with the setup details. I tried to open a ticket, live chat etc, until I got frustrated and decided to cancel the order. And here is where things gets funnier. The order was canceled BUT no refund was given. I even tried to get a paypal refund but of course they didn’t accept it as its not one of their trusted sites.
So all in all, it could be the best deal in town, but for me it was a horrible experience. I only lost 1,74Eu, luckily, but I would seriously consider to look elsewhere if I were to buy more expensive/long term services. If someone is keeping that small amount of money without providing the service nor the refund, you can probably say goodbye to your money if anything unexpected is happening.
