Greg, from Reliable Hosting Services, recently sent in this special offer for LowEndBox readers. This plan offers quite a bit of diskspace for $5/month, so it may be a cost-effective backup solution for some.
OpenVZ – LEB SPECIAL
|
Reliable Hosting Services LLP, have been in business since June 2008 primarily offering Colocation, Dedicated servers and VPS in the Baltimore and Northern Virginia region. In this offer, RHS is basically offering a half price discount, and increased memory, on their standard Bronze level OpenVZ plan. We are told that their Baltimore location currently features 8 separate VPS nodes for provisioning. Their host nodes are comprised of multiprocessor, multicore servers with hardware RAID-10 configurations. I managed to find these short reviews but I would be grateful if any current customers could leave a quick review here.
Reliable Hosting Services can provide as many IPv6 addresses as needed upon request. These servers will be instantly setup following payment completion. They accept payments through Paypal and 2Checkout. A full refund can be given within 2 days of service activation unless in instances of abuse. SPAM and OPT-IN/OUT Emails are prohibited but Legal US Content is allowed. You can view their Terms of Service here.
Network Information:
Servers are located in Baltimore, Maryland.
Test IPv4: 199.15.252.242

I’m using reliablehostingservices a few years ago, they’re great
Isn’t it $10/month?
Nope, the coupon will show you $5 at checkout.
What is the coupon code?
100GB RAID…….
Great package! It first looked it was $10 but you have to continue the registration process at the end it will show 50% recurring discount. Great plan :D
Their site just crashed while I’m trying to checkout. Internal Server Error…
I love the disk space !
That’s exactly the box I needed but I registered extra disk space on my other LEB boxes already :(
I’ll try to make a friend get it for me ^^
I love your instant setup :)
I brought a VPS from them now.
Thats a lot of disk for that price. To bad I already have a backup VPS with a lot of storage… Their tweets in WHMCS are a bit weird however, “w00t w00t”, “oh manz paintball toooooo?????”. Added to z1s.org uptime monitoring: http://z1s.org/dashboard/checks/5136268eb51183246703125e
Looks like a great deal! Just signed up. Will review after getting everything set up…
Signed up at 7 AM EST this morning and my VM is still pending (12 hours later). I have nothing positive to say about the experience so far.
I put a ticket in just after my initial comment and my VM was provisioned shortly. Fast support. The VM also seems to be very speedy so far.
Wow, anyone wanna do some review for this? seems interesting!
I’m curious about this deal. In the TOS, it mentions that you cannot “Run stand-alone, unattended server-side processes at any point in time on the server. This includes any and all daemons, such as IRCD.”. Wouldn’t that prevent using the VPS as a server??? (for example a web server such as Apache?).
I believe I misread their TOS/AUP (though it isn’t that cleanly organized). What I mentioned earlier seems to only applies to shared or resold services. The only thing that is a downside with this host is the lack of support for Ubuntu 12.04 (since 11.10 support ends next month).
Picked up a VPS from them this afternoon. I ran this benchmark I found in another post, and the results are very good:
wow very nice for a 100mbps port O.o definitely gonna buy this.. hope my vps didn’t stuck to any problem
How much is cost for extra 100GB of HDD?
I just ordered this, can’t wait for my vps to be ready..
where can I login my vps ? somebody please help me, i’m newbie T_T
You should of gotten emails from reliable hosting services providing you with information to log into the host (check your spam folder).
After working with them for a week, I’ve come to the conclusion that you do not want to request an ipv6 address for several reasons. One of them is that there vm’s run on a older openvz supported kernel, 2.6.18, which lacks essential modules that allow most ip6table based firewalls to work properly. Unless they update their kernel to the latest supported for openvz, 2.6.32, you will not be able to protect your vps on the ipv6 side.
tldr; firewalls on ipv6 don’t work on 2.6.18
After talking with their support…they *do* have nodes with 2.6.32. If you are looking to have ipv6 on your vps, make sure you request to be placed on a node with that kernel.
They have increased the price to $10
Hi Tim,
The price is still $5, when you add to cart it takes off 50%. Let us know if you are having issues and we can create a custom invoice for you.

I’ve been with RHS for a few years and they are solid. Jeff M (Greg’s relative?) responds quickly to issues, and there hasn’t been really any except quirks like the billing system would mark my account as suspended despite the timely payment and my VPS instance still runs.
There are not that many choices for Eastern seaboard location, so I’m glad RHS is around.
