Via this WHT offer. Yes this is yet-another cheap hosting offer, because it says so on its domain name — 1CheapHosting.net. Using promo code 30whmx to get 30% off recurring discount which brings down the monthly cost to $6.30/month for the following virtual server
- 256MB guaranteed/512MB burstable memory
- 15GB storage
- 100Mbps unmetered bandwidth
- OpenVZ/SolusVM
Servers are with Turnkey Internet in New York. 100Mbps unmetered could potentially mean 30TB/month of data — although somehow I doubt you will be able to pull that on this low end VPS. Now the company itself — the about page says that it was part of the “RH Groups” which I have idea what that is. It was founded this year and the domain was registered 3 months ago, with WHOIS protection. Half of the links on the web site is not working or as temporary place holders. Two name servers of the domain are on the same box… Would you trust your sites with them?

LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
@LEB
It isn’t 100mbit unmetered. You get anywhere from 5mbit to 10mbit and it’s probably capped speeds at that 😛

Yes I do see some very confusing web pages — on their website the same package only has 150GB/month data. Maybe that’s their way of saying 100Mbps port but capped at 0.5Mbps 😛
@LEA
Even if you follow the WHT links, they mention BW limits, not quite 100mbit unmetered 😛

Unmetered Bandwidth on 100 Mbps <- WHT
5 Mbps Unmetered on 100 Mbps <- Site
I highly doubt that was a typo while making the ad thread 😛
@LEA,
Just out of interest, how do you know the 2 name servers are on the same box? I can see they are consecutive IPs….
@Paul — telnet to port 25 of both IP, and the welcome message from both IP says “node1.1cheaphosting.com”. You get the same hostname as well when you connect to cPanel port on both IP.
5 Mbps Unmetered on 100 Mbps <— why tell the backbone speed? your isp don't say its on a xxx bit connection, only that you get xx speed
“””Node setup with LVM, no worry about oversell!”””
I find this statement extremely hilarious for some odd reason.
Check your monitors LEA, reports on WHT of servers being down for these guys:

Hold the fire there! I usually wait for a provider to disappear for a week to declare them dead 🙂
