Martin from AllSimple Internet Services emailed me about their exclusive offers to LowEndBox readers. Use promo code lowendbox20 to get 20% off recurring discount + double the memory + swap. Their smallest package, “Light”, would end up at £3.19/month (~USD$4.96), and it has
- 128MB memory/256MB swap
- 3GB storage
- 25GB/month data transfer
- Xen
It is pretty much the same package as previously listed, except the discount + double memory bonus. BlueSquare DC in Maidenhead in UK. Trading as “AllSimple” since 2009 according to its about page, which also contains its business registration info.

LEA (LowEndAdmin) is the original founder of LowEndBox and the visionary who gave rise to an entire movement around minimalist, efficient hosting. In 2008, LEA launched LowEndBox with a simple but powerful idea: that it was possible to run meaningful applications, web servers, VPNs, mail servers, and more – on small, low-cost virtual machines with minimal resources.
At a time when most infrastructure discussions were dominated by high-end servers and enterprise platforms, LEA championed the opposite approach: lightweight Linux distros, self-managed servers, open source software, and thoughtful optimization. This philosophy gave birth to the term “Low End Box”, which would come to define a new genre of hosting tailored to developers, tinkerers, and budget-conscious users around the world.
Through LowEndBox and its companion forum, LowEndTalk, LEA built the foundation for what would become one of the most active and enduring communities in the hosting world, prioritizing knowledge-sharing, transparency, and accessibility.
After several years of nurturing the site and community, LEA stepped away from active involvement, passing the torch to a new generation of admins, contributors, and moderators. Today, LEA remains a respected figure in the LowEnd ecosystem, credited with launching a platform and philosophy that continues to influence thousands of infrastructure providers and users globally.
LowEndBox’s legacy, and its thriving community, is a direct result of LEA’s original vision.
Not a lot of disk space and bandwidth – You can get a lot more resources for the same price.
True Jackk, bu if you can get more resources in Bluesquare for the same price (or Rapidswitch – so we cover the two main UK DCs) then let us know.
UK hosting is more expensive, but those are both great DCs. If someone NEEDS vps hosting in the UK then they don’t have many providers to choose from.
We are offering our plans on Xen and are able to guarantee the resources that we provide, we do not oversell our features and can assure you that you receive what you pay for.
We believe the current prices are fair for what you are getting, but we may review our pricing in the future to ensure we remain competitive.
Our Virtual Servers run on Xen, offering the guaranteed resources that you provide with no overselling enabled.
We believe our prices are currently fair considering the above, but we may review them in the future to remain competitive.
@Gary – I wouldn’t say those are the two main UK data centres. FastHosts, RedStation, UK2.NET, Melbourne, Ice-Colo are all quite popular and established.
I’m sure there are providers who will provide more in the same DC than this.
“If someone NEEDS vps hosting in the UK then they don’t have many providers to choose from.”
there is loads,, i could name 20 without even thinking.
Strange, but I don’t see this as such bad deal. I pay similar to XenVZ.co.uk (hosted at decent Rapidswitch DC) for their taster vps with half less ram, half more bandwidth and I like it very much.
It’s true that we see some crazy “512MB ram/4$” deals around (mostly at .us or .de DCs) and we’re a bit spoiled because of this but that’s still lowendbox site. If I would need another lowendbox VPS hosted in .uk, I would consider this offer.
@ Daniel and Jackk, if you can show a considerably better UK package for around the same money, go for it. As a case in point, Daniel’s company host at Rapidswitch. Most hosting companies are based in the same few datacentres in the southeast.
Yes there are UK datacentres other than the two main ones I mentioned, but most of them have such limited connectivity (connected to the net only on BT or NTL’s backbone? Single point of failure ftw) and/or are crazily expensive.
AllSimple don’t give nearly enough transfer, but that’s the only thing I could really fault them for.
I have pruchased off this provider, and not had 1 single issue. quite reliable :)
The prices are also quite decent compared to other UK VPS providers.
